- TrackMania is collaborating with Formula E and is hosting 9 races on 3 different tracks around the same time the actual Formula E is racing on them! Here is my POV of Race #1 in Tokyo.
Announcement Reaction: • There is a Brand New G...
Tokyo Map Discovery: • They picked a FORMULA ...
Format explanation:
-15min qualifying
-players will be put into divisions of 50 according to the final ranking after the seeding
-endurance race with 25 laps with special effects:
--- battery can run out, release the acceleration to reduce the usage, super slow once it runs out
--- weather can switch e.g. sandstorm, rain with less grip
--- twice per race: in a certain area can get reactor boost for 1.5min
--- possibility for safety car (speed limited to 200kph in that case)

Granady: "Who could have guessed?"
Everyone: "errr....."
keep in mind that the actual race has 2 more laps with the same battery consumption which is why in 23 lap test dings it seemed like you can just full send then autopilot for like half a lap in the end and win. so the strat isn't as dumb as some chatters were claiming. increasing the amount of laps definitely made the battery far more important than during testing. the infinite reactor bug during testing wasn't helping either because it created a messed up leaderboard and you had no idea who got the bug and who didn't. nadeo definitely could've done better by having the same amount of laps in both races + making sure there are no insane bugs like this. anyway looking forward to all the remaining races! I'm sure you can do well if you put your mind in it :)
I feel like they nailed this mode and Granady is not the only racer that struggles with adapting to what this requires but I do love strategy things like this
strategy = go slow
i am not slow, i am a *_strategist!_*
yea I think it's really fun
You don't lift accel when you brake, it probably uses infinity more battery than people who always release
This is a great video 😂 The strategy analysis part is hilarious
mh i kinda like the format. Hopefully it get a little bit more attention and i also would like to see other tracks who are nicely build. Maybe a little bit alternative. Means that they can make dirt turns or wall rides/bounces. This is just an identy of TM and makes the game really interesting
I feel like you have the wrong mindset about the energy thing. Trackmania is a game full of rules:
"On dirt with this speed in this turn do this"
"For speedslide depending on speed, do this"
Etc.
Its all just a bunch of rules to follow so you drive fast.
"Prioritize minimal speed loss over minimal time loss to reduce power consumption" is just another one of those rules or whatever the rules for driving fast in this cup are. I dont think its that unfitting for trackmania, its just another challenge and this time i think its a very creative and especially challenging one at that.
Decided to ignore the whole idea of the race and surprised it bites him in the back xdd
He didn't ignore it, he just genuinely thought that that was the best strategy for him. If you don't understand how to save energy while driving somewhat competitive times, then there's no point in saving energy. I mean if getting the usage down to 4% a lap costs you like an average of 2-3 seconds, then you might as well drive full out and eat two laps of energy save mode.
@@richard_njOh yeah, that's also one way to put it. It's not like he sounded pretty much just confused by the entire concept of having to conserve energy at all, and he definitely also didn't call it "driving like an idiot" either.
@@umbaupause Considering how you play TM normally, you do have to drive like an idiot to save energy 😂
And ye, was just a bit clueless, race 2 I got it way better :)
@@umbaupause How does that contradict what I said?
@@GranaDyTV I think it's just more to just think about coasting more, I do this IRL and it shows.
I often get double the MPG of some of my relatives, because they only think of accel & slow, forgetting that coast is a thing.
Loved this one in totd. Need more of these.
Wish console could take part in the races too
I didn't see that coming. Daaaaang!
scrappy won because he was smart (knew how electric motor works, probably from watching f1)
Regen doesn't work so it wasn't really anything specific to batteries, just general energy management / efficiency (which is both FE and F1 dinks).
BINKSS has beee so damn fast on this track! How does he do it?
How do you participate in this? Because I dont find anything about it ingame
wouldnt it be better to set energy consumption on eco/on point while slowing down/driving curves and set it to overuse when you need accel? Or is that not possible?

damn how is scrapie so good at the game?
Happy April Fools boys!
The entire concept of the battery drain does seem like a bad April Fool's joke, so it's very fitting that the event is today
konnte man nicht den akku auffüllen?
nope, kein tanken wie bei der tmfl
@@Masticore_und auch kein bremsen um wieder Energie zu gewinnen
dann konntest du nicht mal was dafür@@GranaDyTV
Yah not a fan at all of this simulatory stuff on a pure arcade racing game, there are hundreds of racing games better suited for this kind of stuff
