Just wanted to point out that in the video, Joel says "wasn't marked by violence or bloodshed". In the description it reads "was marked by violence and bloodshed".
Just knowing how much the trailer makes me cry, I know I'm going to be a wreck at the whole film.

Love this movie, I'm going to buy the dvd ! Hate the end couldn't be different. No spoiler! To know such love stories did and still do exist ! They respected one another and fought to be together ! And to top it all , made it legal right for adults to choose their own spouses and lives !

I had a similar thought. I guess the real woman was fairly light skinned but I can barely tell that this actress is black. I love the actual actress though
Francine Morris No she wasn't. She was brown skinned.
This actress is half Irish. Doesn't make sense to me but people willingly put blinders on when it comes to black women and women who are more black than not...they like them represented as heavily mixed women. Yet...notice the same doesn't happen to black men. Or white men or white women.
Leilani Rose Its hard to tell in the black and white pics I have seen but she looked lighter than a paper bag black. Was she more brown than that? I'm a little annoyed that they cast someone who can pretty much pass for a white person with a little tan. But I do like the actress in her own right though.
