@@spiritman-em4qr hmm. And what would it mean to have a wizard who is a literary fictional character meant to represent an angel and or Christ within the Lord of the Rings series? What would it mean to use that fact as a door to begin a conversation about Christ as a way to evangelize to the lost? Please tell me what it means for a minister to have a wizard as an avatar picture.

@@spiritman-em4qr if your referring to Leviticus 19:31 where God forbids the Israelites from seeking “wizards” then I would say you might wanna study up on your scholarship as the word actually translates more to necromancy and spiritualists. Neither of which the character of Gandalf is. In fact, Gandalf is seen more as a Shepherd/ Pastoral figure within the book series and films and has had many scholars examine the usage of the character as a literary means of presenting the idea of a pastor or priest to the films at large.

Yeah. Well watch David K. Bernard videos and understand God is not a trinity.
As well. Women should not be Preachers. There is no proper theology called right hand of fellowship etc.
Anyways. Go to a man of God who knows the difference between titles baptism and baptism in the title-name-title of Lord Jesus Christ.
Full submersion. Man of God says: I baptize you in the title-name-title of Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sin.
Means Matthew 28 v19 is fully understood with Acts 2 v38 and Acts 19 v5 which agree with John 3 v5 and Mark 16 v16
Lord Jesus Christ means Jesus is Father and Son and Holy Spirit per John 8 v58 and Revelation 1 v8 and Isaiah 45 v15 and Hosea 13 v4 and Isaiah 43 v11 etc

    • @GandalfTheBased
      @GandalfTheBased 11 місяців тому +2

@@spiritman-em4qr As someone who has studied the differences between fictional wizards and the wizards of the occult, I can assure you that they aren’t the same. While many things are similar, there are huge differences between the two. In the instance of Gandalf, within the framework of the story written by the author, Gandalf is (more or less) an angel given a specific mission by the Divine Ruler of the novels universe. Other than having supernatural abilities (like that of what we see angels having in scripture) and admittedly others, Gandalf is depicted as being the “Angel of Light” in the series. His abilities are not reflective of the occult rituals you’re probably familiar with (like the ones found in Wicca, Gnosticism, and other occult practices. Any similarities between the two in as far as the character is concerned, is more in tune with what is within Christian thought as the more pure “version” of it if you will. A simple way of looking at this would examining the intention of God banning Israel from pursuing necromancy or anything of the sort. It is not due to the concept that Israel is to not commune with the divine realm (or else they would not be communing with God), but that with other spirit that are evil, you can’t trust the source. With God you can trust what He tells you. But attempting to reach out to the demonic forces who hate you will result in your destruction. But clearly, by virtue of the original Edenic model, mankind is supposed to have a communal relationship with the divine realm. That is we are originally meant to walk with God and will again in the New Heaven and Earth. But the occult flips this and reaches out to spiritual entities that are not of our realm. Who have no care for humanity and only seek our destruction.

There's a variation of this saying that I've heard which I think is quite insightful. "Power reveals." The ability to do whatever you want leads to the revelation of what it is you've always wanted to do. In humans, this pretty much always leads to corruption. It's not because of the power itself, but because the human heart is corrupt. God has ultimate power, but that power does not corrupt Him. In His case, His ultimate power reveals His ultimate justice.

    • @Mark-cd2wf

Excellent point. As a side issue, consider:
God is omnipotent (all-powerful), therefore He can do anything logically possible.
He desires all men to be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth (1 Tim. 2:4).
Yet all men are not saved.
Therefore, we must freely allow Him to save us, otherwise we will not be saved.
Therefore, 5-point Calvinism is false (Irresistible Grace is not true).
And Universalism is also false (all will not be saved).
For although God is all-powerful and desires _all_ to be saved, He cannot _force_ anyone to _freely_ surrender to Him, for that is logically impossible.

@@MacNCheezeWhizGod has already decided we don’t “deserve” him. Hence, Jesus.
To say “deserve” is misguided though - it’s too easy to assume you mean multiple things by your statement.
Do we deserve God’s judgement? Yes. Yet, does God love us still? Yes. So if we deserve justice, yet God still loves us, what does it mean to deserve God?
I don’t know for sure what you mean, but I think in a simple sense, no one is righteous, yet God loved the world so much he sent Jesus to be the propitiation for the sins of the whole world, and that propitiation is especially realised by those who chose to believe and are therefore reconciled to God by forgiveness through Jesus’ atoning sacrifice.

Thank you for this, Mr. Sala! I also watched that whole interview of Dr. Lennox and there were so many sobering reminders for us Christians as to why God keeps standards of conduct in His Word for His people to follow. Those were more than just guard rails that many of us misconstrue as Godʼs 'killjoy' methods towards people who want to 'enjoy' life. As the perfect Father and Lord Himself, God puts those commands in place for us to actually live life to the full in His presence.
I think that with all these things said well about the amoral state of the dominant liberal culture today, God is allowing all these ignorance and rebellion to show before all of us what our folly could bring about consequentially. In our capacity for free choices, the Lord is teaching us a lesson that we can never truly realize what it means to live well without Him.
Please, keep doing these, pastor. Your videos are helpful reflection points for personal study and even discipleship discussion points in groups.
God bless you and your ministry!

Eats fruit. Becomes arbiter of good and evil for himself. Raises his subjective reality to the level of objective. All things only God can or should. That’s how I understood it, and I’m hearing it echoed in Peterson.
One of the ways we become our own “god” is we make up our own laws of good and evil and walk perfectly in them because we are never wrong and we judge others based on how they relate to us through that lens; they all fail. We also disagree with Gods laws where they do it line up with ours, we end up with salad bar religion.
    It’s pure narcissisim.

    • @ianbain1269
      @ianbain1269 10 місяців тому

@@larrycraig3295 Yep. In breaking of God's Word they show us what our sin is actually like. God knew we would break it, the same way as two year old children. In the disobedient action of breaking the Word of God to us we have a pale picture that becomes fully focussed at the cross of Jesus, whom John calls the Word that became flesh and lived among us. At the cross, every sin known is exposed: putting God on trial, issuing judgement against God, misplaced and false piety, betrayal, disfiguring God's Word till it is unrecognisable, false friends, fear, cruelty, presenting lies as truth, condemning on half truth, ignoring the obvious, mass hysteria, false empathy, jealousy, hopelessness, spiritual blindness, riots, anger, cowardice, deliberate miscarriage of justice, abuse of power, appeasement, taking offense when shown we are wrong, corporate murder, self deception of the protagonists, assumed absolute power, glee in the spectacle of inflicted pain, mocking, false healing to deaden pain, overkill, and unashamed self agrandissement. We cannot have our own way without committing most of these sins. No-one likes this level of exposure, which is why we hate the idea of an absolute God who has standards that we cannot reach without Him. It is easy to point to this in other people, which is why some in gross error choose to blame the Jews for the turn of events. But they were the only people with the credentials to carry out the sacrifice and when we look closer and see ourselves in the crowd and listen to the Words of Jesus to us, then there is the possibility that we will be thrown from our own false throne and won over by the magnificent power of grace and mercy extended to us who only deserve the worst. But we will also see the hand of God the Father behind this. Words express Ideas and we need to understand the words and the idea that they carry. This, for me, is the clearest but still incomplete and weak, expression of the Trinity of God which we see in the very first verses of scripture. The corruption of language corrupts the way we communicate. Our ideas expressed through words and dependent on the understanding that our hearers have is I think one of the ways we are made in God's image, but the words we often speak are without the weight of the Truth from God. The absolutely amazing thing is that God used the imperfect people, whom He had chosen, given them the Law in Words and prepared them through the sacrificial system of innocent lambs to abhor the sins that they committed and then tested them through the fire of the Greek mistreatments after their humiliation in Babylon and before the Roman invasion, to carry out this sacrifice for our salvation. There is no other creature in creation that can commit sin, only men with free will, and by that free will then having the potential ability to corrupt every environment around them, spiritual, relationships and physical. We can hear God's voice of anger and frustration at those whom He chose and guided through 3,000 years of history throughout the pages of scripture, but God never gives up on His promises to them, whether in blessing them or by punitive actions by their enemies to bring them back on course. God still keeps those promises, which throws us onto God's goodness. But the really humbling thing that we see in the Law is that if a man was to claim he was God, then the law required that man to be put to death, without adding a mitigating clause that if the man actually is God He should be believed. But how else would the sacrifice have been made? God even told His people on many different occasions that He would come. So the cross had to happen to show us the ugly horror and incurable nature of the gods we become when we set ourselves in opposition to God, and how grossly offensive that idolatry is to God, even when dressed up in the imperfect goodness' we are doing to tell God we don't need Him, failing to recognise that He is the source of what we know in our hearts is the right thing, action or words for each occasion. We would still be in our sins without hope of redemption if the event of Jesu's crucifixion and resurrection, central to our history, had not happened. So when we go back to the place where we thought we had buried Him and listen again to the Words that will never die we discover this is our only hope and through the holy Spirit bringing Understanding of God's Word, by showing us God Himself incarnated as the perfect man Jesus on the cross for our sin, offering us peace and forgiveness, will surprise us with a joy that will last for eternity. Such a relief to hand the burden that only God can carry back to Him.

Jordan Peterson I truly enjoy, though I feel he's still finding his way in Christ, as we all are in one form or another, where we're needing to learn to let go of ourselves and the preconceptions we've brought along with us, or inherited from our backgrounds. Where in actuality we need to receive our ultimate authority from The Creator, our one True source for objectivity. And, HIS revelation about HIMSELF in JESUS CHRIST!
    Blessings,
    Awaiting HIS Return,
    Walter

This has been a link in time. I have viewed this last Easter and the celebrations and on a hard look i see that we, myself included, have treated the Cricifixtion on a temporal basis and neglected the spiritual in the Cricifixtion. I have asked the Holy Spirit to guide me in understanding what this is. This session has given me a start to the study. Thank you.

This was a great interview. The one problem I see for Jordan is that I think he truly knows what it means to follow Jesus (more than most) and I can't speak for certain but I believe he knows what comes with that, once you say it out loud and he's just not ready for that. Like most do

I think Jordan Peterson is mainly concerned with trying to build softer hearts so the seculars that follow him and laugh at John Lonnex will realize how real and powerful the Bible is, and how masterfully is it written by the Lord to be beyond any work of fiction they’ve read.
God has literally done this with the Jews of today by hiding Jesus’ name/face, but foretelling his true coming to the Jews/Rabbis who do seriously follow the Old Testament, but cannot comprehend the New Testament.
Jordan Peterson’s biggest fear isn’t his career or likability. It’s him failing to keep people away from Hell.

FYI I created a community post with a link to this video. This is what I wrote to go with it.
This is my take on this video:
God decides moral value. But we must hear and believe. He gave it to Moses in the Law. But Moses and his descendants twisted it for their benefit through time and use. I must conclude that, because "the law came by Moses, but truth by Jesus." John 1. Jesus gave us the true Law, let’s say, or the true contract of behavior. So what was that?
“This is the covenant that I shall make with the house of Israel in that day. I will put my laws into their minds, and write them in their hearts…” Heb 8:10
Does that mean we know the law automatically? Does it not take God doing the writing on our hearts and minds? We can’t simply know what’s right and wrong by our own intuition, but only by the influence of God. So what we have to do is yield to God. That’s how we know what the ‘law of righteousness,’ let’s say, is.
The law is a schoolmaster teaching you to stay within the bounds of morality until you have a mature, discernible connection with God who will lead you more perfectly.

    Religion and Grace are Different
Religion: What man does to earn merit or favor with God.
Grace: What God does to provide salvation freely to man.
Religious Christianity counts church attendance, prayer, good works, tithing, and confession among the long list of ways man can earn favor with God or satisfy God’s wrath toward them.
Grace Christianity depends solely upon the finished work of Jesus Christ to both attain eternal life, and to atone for our sins.

I fully agree with John Lennox that “ought-ness” should come from above. Mankind first sinned by breaking God's command that they not eat of the forbidden fruit. When mankind sinned, we also became LIKE God, knowing good and evil, which God Himself confirmed. As suggested by a recent commentary on the book of Genesis(1), “knowing good and evil" in the original language can also mean determining good and evil. In this light, ever since this first sin, mankind has been determining for ourselves what constitutes good and what constitutes evil. Importantly, notice that for Eve, "knowing good and evil" was not the consequence of the first recorded sin, but rather its cause: for even before Eve ate from the forbidden tree she had determined that the tree was "good for food," and that eating of the forbidden fruit was "desirable to make one wise." Thus, she had the ability to make value judgments even before she ate from the forbidden tree. Then after she and Adam ate, they hid from God and told Him that it was because they were naked, and by implication, that their nakedness was "not good", or something about which to be ashamed. God's questions in reply are revealing: "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?" Think about it: if Adam and Eve were not determing for themselves good/bad or desirable/undesirable, then someone must have told them that their nakedness was not good or shameful. On the other hand, if they were coming up with their own value system, then no one would need to have told them that their nakedness was not good. Notice that becoming “LIKE the Most High” was Lucifer’s own ambition as recorded in Isaiah 14, and consider this verse which appears twice in the book of Proverbs: "That which seems right unto a man, the end thereof are the ways of death."
    (1) 2019. Prager D. The Rational Bible: Genesis: God, Creation, and Destruction. Telushkin J, ed. Excerpt from page 59: In the Torah, the phrase “good and evil” (“good and bad” in this [quoted] translation) can mean “everything.” It can also mean moral free will …. And, as the serpent correctly noted, “knowing good and evil” can also mean being the one who determines what is good and what is evil. That is what is meant by this verse by “man has become like one of us, knowing good and evil.”

This is why I am so thankful that I was born into and raised in a strong Catholic family! We are taught from a very young age that morality and the practice of virtue is objective. That truth is one and comes from God above. When Jesus replies to Pilate, 'you would have no power unless it was given to you by my Father,' then that is all the world needs to know! That all things are subject to Him.
Also, we are taught from 1st grade on that truth can not be divided. Since Jesus established the Catholic Church to teach His truth and be the vehicle to transmit His truth down through the ages for man's salvation, then everything the Catholic Church teaches has to be true. If one teaching is false, then all is false, and the whole house crumbles, and salvation is useless and has no meaning or value. There has to be objective truth and morality.

If Petersen would accept the truth from the Holy Spirit, he would NOT have to struggle so hard with his own words to try to explain, to understand & to convince others of his point.

Greetings, this is Pastor Mike. BTW: I did Subscribe and Like. Anyway, I saw the entire interview between Dr. Peterson and Dr. Lennox. I've followed (as time allowed) both of them and others for years now. What struck me this time was that it simply was not two people arguing/disagreeing. No! It was us learning and growing!!! Homo-Deus (Man as god) is certainly not the way! One thing that I have discovered in my life (I'm 70 years old), is that "Democracy" is not actually supported in Biblical Scripture. It makes sense when one realizes that the "will of the people" should not be pitted against and/or elevated above the "Will of GOD!" When the people respected and were guided by the Will of GOD, then our Constitutional [Democratic] Republic labored to maintain GOD's National Blessing (I remember that time).
    *
But, when the People stray from GOD's genuine and timeless truths and doctrines of the ages it has predictable consequences! If the people stray, then we can't be surprised when it rises upwards into government thinking, policy, practices, and procedures. I really believe that it all took hold in earnest during the Age of Enlightenment, during which GOD was demoted below the thinking (and science) of Man. I wrote a treatise about that and published some of it on Substack. Judge Billings Learned Hand had written (paraphrased), If freedom and liberty do not exist in the hearts of the People, then no law, no court, and no government can save it.
    *
By a similar line of thought, if morality (right & wrong), which is based on GOD's truths and doctrines, is not present in the People, then we're all in trouble (as that condition metastasizes throughout human society). It is supposed to be GOD's Church and His Family Unit(s), operating under His Sovereignty and Jurisdiction, as well as the authority of GOD, as the Word (John 1:1 KJV), which instills such values. In my opinion, view, and judgment (IMOVJ), GOD's Church is a jurisdictionally separate "House of GOD" (Eph. 1:21-23 KJV), that is supposed to operate as a separate "check and balance" (the pulpit being an independent platform to sound GOD's Truths) that keeps humanity from straying into dangerous amoral territory. I'll close with this: It's time for churches to realize the fullness of their true role and for GOD's People to act like GOD's People! The requisite doctrinal knowledge for that needs to be revived. From Pastor Mike Benjamins, Jr. of Oregon, USA. 1-20-24 at 12:59 A.M. Oregon Time. The Remnant Church Truth Ministry. All my standard rules and disclaimers apply.

Thanks for bringing this up! We can know what this tree (of good & evil) was by looking at what man would become after eating of it. The serpent said "you shall be like God" And so the tree of good & evil meant man becoming God! Defining for himself what's wrong & right without looking to God. Man was actually usurping God!
