Yes truly a psychoanalytical but fictional theory. The fact that Satyajit Ray embraced these type and style of story-telling in the mid-90s era is worth compelling; speaking of style, this particular story falls under 'Body horror', 'Psycho thriller', and 'Black Comedy' genre & sub-genre respectively 🐵
Too bad majority of the fandom doesn't recognize these properly (I saw people pointing out this story as funny), Ray's works needs more widespread recognition and story breakdowns-character sketches-and plot analysis just like people do with Shakespeare or other academics worthy literature masters

সত্যজিৎ রায় বেচে থাকতে থাকতে মীরের এমন ভাবে তার গল্প পরিবেশনা যদি শুনে যেতে পারতেন,তাহলে খুব খুশী হতেন। তার চমকপ্রদ কাহিনী গুলোর এভাবে সুবিচার আর কেউ করতে পারবেন না। অন্য যশস্বী লেখকদের মীরের গল্পপাঠ যে সমান আনন্দ দিত তাও বলার অপেক্ষা রাখেনা। মীরের গল্প পাঠ আলাদা লেভেলের। ❤
This story is a psychoanalytical but fictional theory..a masterpiece..I think this is one of the best among the short stories written by Satyajit Ray🙏🙏..but I found a lot of people making fun of this story without understanding it properly..which is really very bad..😔

বাংলা সাহিত্যে এমন গল্প গুটিকয়েকটিই আছে।
সত্যজিৎ রায়ের অনবদ্য এই লেখাটি সহজেই সাহিত্যের সেই স্তরে জায়গা করে নিয়েছে নিঃসন্দেহে বলা যায়

"Mrigankobabur biborton " nam ta appropriate hoto❤️
May be this species was the missing link, which was told at the beginning of the story which got lost as time progressed. May be that is what Satyajit Ray pointed at.
But then his ancestors would have been like that too,which is not mentioned in the story.A missing link cannot just appear suddenly in a genetic line.This is more of a surreal psycho thriller.
This is a story of a bullied boy. Continuous bullying from his elders pushed him towards psychosis and with the passage of time he has lost his identity and created a false identity. This is completely a psychological story .
