- Real time mowing a crazy thick yard. I did speed up the backyard footage to 2x, but I kept the sound pitch correct. It was just so thick that I was going through it agonizingly slow.
#satisfying #free #asmr
Loved it with all normal sounds and not crazy loud music was enjoyable ty
Glad you liked it! Yea I learned to always post a realtime and real sound version of anything I post.
There’s something about watching the grass flow out of the discharge chute, almost like it really is a fluid. Especially in tall heavy grass. It’s so.... satisfying. Same thing for snowblowing also. It’s so cool how the snow can be packed super dense and the snowblower turns it ina fluid-like powder.
O
THAT LAWN IS GOING TO LOOK A LOT NICE.
NICE JOB ON THE LAWN.👍
This is my favorite kind of video you make. Super tall grass and cut from start to finish. I actually enjoyed the weed whacking too!!! This looks like fun!!!
I included the weed whacking just for the people who may have thought I left all that grass up against the house. Glad you like it.
On my way! Dan
Dan s ybcfuc
Dan IKR, plus it's so satisfying
@@Something2LookAt hey you have nice lawn mowers
I love how beautiful that grass looks after you take so much off. If we did that here in the midwest grasses. It would all be brown. Envy, party of one here.
Real-time mows are my fav!
Lots of people ask for them. Happy to make them. :)
So satisfying video man. I really enjoy watching grass cuts. 😄😄
I'm so glad you come over and watch these. Crossing over into my other genre. Stayed tuned, I tend to goof off with these machines as well. I've been known to hit a newspaper or two on purpose. :)
Something 2LookAt Always buddy :) this is new area for me and I enjoy it :)
What Will Happen If? Im the same way bro! :D
Same
EXCELLENT FOOTAGE !!! Mike, Man Oh Man... Now that was Some Thick Tall Grass you cut... The Weed Eating was Really Cool To... That Scag always Surprises me how good it cuts.... Two Thumbs Up !!! :)
You are the best i ever seen
Thanks!
I LOVE THE WAY THE SCAG CHEETAH CUTS!!!
absolutely can't believe people let their lawns get that way..i would've raked it all up and dumped it on their porch..good job by the way..really enjoy your videos.
lol. Things happen in people's lives. They're going through some tough times right now. It's all good, I got this video. They have me mow it more often now.
i would pay this guy for all his good work
This was my favourite video in 2016
Oh yes, this was a good one. :)
If you had a deflector mounted on the deck that was operated with a handle over the deck out flow it would deflect the grass down when your were driving close to anything you did not want grass to blow up on. would not have to slow down, just drop the deflector as low as necessary and keep on trucking, always worked good for me. (i am retired now and always enjoy watching your video's).
Hope you made big bucks for that outrageous yard , good job!
I don't know what's better! The mower or the camera! Great video
Well, the camera is much better on gas.lol
Lololol
11 more subs and you're at 7k!! Congrats!
Finally. Seeing someone cut like it matters. Thank you.
soooooo satisfying
I'll have to get a set of those blades. I would think it really shreds it up when cutting normal height grass.
Nice finish
Has the cheetah ever bogged down? I can't believe this is actually a serious question but from watching your videos, you put it through hell and I have yet to hear the motor slow down... even once. Love the videos, appreciate you uploading regularly and giving us "Something 2 Look At"!
Bingo, that's exactly the purpose of the channel. Just watch, don't think. lol. Anyway, yes, I nearly stopped it cold on vlog 25. That one was a challenge because it was tall and wet and the customer wanted it cut at 2 inches. See the realtime version here. Happens in the beginniing: ua-cam.com/video/bQNZkQJyTT8/v-deo.html
Something 2LookAt I can't understand why they don't use a catcher system and get through the job quickest way and charge a bit for dumping the clippings.
This guy reminds me of my uncle I got few contracts and he wants to work with me but he keeps over the same spot, when he could been threw
nice job as usual!
oddly satisfying
If those were solo lights I would have pulled them up before cutting and then put them back at the end.
I should get my 50” Dixie Chopper running that I bought for $100 April of 2018.
Does the Cheetah ever bog down, or try and stall out in really thick tall grass?
how much did you charge on this job
Commercial grade lawn mower fly threw this stuff. I have a simplicity colbolt very nice. The only problem zero turns have are ditches...
How can you prevent scalping as the mower drops off the grass to the sidewalk. There are two areas in this video showing the mower scalped the grass as it came down - even with anti-scalping wheels. It happens to me all the time on one side of my lawn.
You would have to keep the tires off the sidewalk. But here in Florida if you do that, you squish the grass at the edge and make it harder to edge. Meaning, the soil compresses and moves out. Everything's always wet here.
Wurt da furk! 😱
I cant decide what's more ridiculous... The once a month schedule; how easily Cheetah goes through the hay field; or why SCAG isn't sending you a fat retainer check each month for stellar advertising. 👏🏻👍
Holy crap!
Curiously, I hear nothing at all from Scag. I think it's because I don't always use it properly. But yea, I know for a fact that I'm selling Cheetahs. They're probably happy. Hey, you changed your icon. :)
Yeah, hiding in plain sight. 😁 In a recent vid, you said the Cheetah was going in the shed and Great Dane on the trailer when it gets resurrected. Really? I can't see that right now. You and the Cheetah are like a single organism, shearing the world with precision. Don't forget to put the cover back on the light you bumped off though. Oh wait!! You need to line up a bunch of those and mow 'em down!! 😎
8ftbed Well the Great Dane is much more yard friendly. It's a 52, has rounded front tires, more maneuverable. Don't get the wrong idea though, the Cheetah will still come out for the thick ones and the estates. Which is practically every day. lol, I never did put the cover back on that light. Actually I'm annoyed that they put them there.
Long grass or not, if i left the lawn is the state you have left your lawn cut, i would be out of a job. Over here in oz contractors take the grass away with them and take it back to the rubbish dump. One thing to be said about using a good push mower and catching the grass as one mows,a far better job, rather than mulching. But i understand that mowing long grass that long also has problems.
Other than that i do in joy your video's
We're the exact opposite here. Nobody, I mean nobody collects the grass and takes it with them. I understand that composting or mulching doesn't work in all states. But it does in Florida.
That lawn would have looked much nicer if the grass was baged
Great video...How do you go about charging a customer for grass that high?
I'd be charging this guy double or triple. This is ridiculous.
Hey just a quick question what are your favorite boots to wear while doing this stuff, I'm also a landscaper and haven't came across a boot I %100 like
Honestly I just wear whatever. I got my last pair from Walmart and I just bought the cheapest. They've been working out great for what I do.
Rick..... I highly recommend Danner boots... had a pair issued to me while in the military.... wore them every day for 8hrs for 2 yrs while still active...when I got out I worked commercial construction...wore those same boots for 5 yrs doing that! They were super comfortable! And never did “wear out” I gave them away. Only downside....they might be a bit hot and or heavy.... but both of that can be gotten used to....for the great comfort and excellent support/foot protection!
you should lift the deck up a bit so you don't blow all of the grass
Is there a reason why you cut it so low? It looks so much healthier on that first pass.
It's an optical illusion. This grass is so high that you can't tell the first pass is 5 inches! That would be too high to leave it like that.
Where do you find all these really tall yards? Is it really common practice for people to let their yards get that tall down there?
Yep, it happens constantly. They don't anticipate it getting tall then their own mower won't do it. It really grows fast down here too.
that's crazy
I would like to see more pov footage
your videos are great, but the thing that i dont get it the way you mulch the grass. you make it so complicated, all you need to do is keep mowing over it with straight lines until theres nothing left. Just a suggestion.
where is this city ?
That's some serious Bahia. What blades are you using?
I have the Mamba mulching blades on there. Very similar to Gator blades.
Can anyone pls tell me what grass is that?! This one is a killer one!
We still haven't been able to figure it out. Last best guess was a form of giant bermuda. But don't quote me on that. We just don't know.
+Something 2LookAt I thought it was some kind of giant emerald. On the vid it looks like very thin. I wish i could have this lawn. Btw, wonderful videos, man! Keep on going! If you discover what kind of grass is that, remember me, haha!
Wow
is there a reson why people let there lawn get that high is to fill the yard or something else
He was between jobs for a bit.
first off sorry about my name i cant change it. Secondly, you should always engage your pto at full throttle. ive had people come into my small engine repair shop and say that their engine isn't as powerful as it was 10 years ago. They say they engage at half throttle when mowing. It tires your engine having to work that hard to spin the blades up to over 150mph. And mowing below full throttle isn't as bad but it also tires your engine because if you go through heavy grass it bogs down the engine and the engine wants to stay up to speed so it uses more fuel and puts unnecessary fuel into the engine. running at full throttle is at such a high speed that it bogs it down a lot less. much higher rpm means more strength to power through so you should get out of the bad habit of not mowing at full throttle. Im not saying that to be rude im just giving you advice from an experienced Small Engine Repairmen
I understand mowing at full throttle but when starting the PTO you should engage at half throttle to increase clutch life.
its just a tensioner pulley. always engage the pto at full throttle on riding mowers. tractors are a way different story. bogging is almost like choking the engine.
I hear ya. Disagree though. Just going by the decades of doing it this way with no problems. Look at my 17 year old Snapper 48. Original engine, original clutch.Over 3000 hours. I engage that one on idle sometimes. Really. It's smooth as silk. I'll show me doing that next time I have it out. I know that there are text book methods of doing things, but I do find very often that they're not overly necessary. I do things the way I know they work for me. Speaking from a lot of experience.I'm not gonna change. But I appreciate your post for anyone reading who wants to know the optimum method.
I beg to differ. there are pullies that turn the blades yes? So how am I wrong that a tensioner pulley engages the blades? I've seen the inside and out of a riding mower. i have 17 years of small engine experience and I've pretty much seen it all. I'm not trying to start anything you are welcome to your opinion but I'm just saying that when a mower is on, there is a pulley from the engine freely spinning and when you pull the pto engagement a pulley tightens and friction does its job. Now, unless I've been seeing everything the wrong way for my whole life then I'm pretty sure that most, not all, commercial mowers do have a tensioner pulley.
Then pulley gets tensioned to engage the blade. therefore it is a tensioner pulley. either way it uses friction.
What state is this?
This is Florida
do you weed eat before or after
Usually after.
Hate the look of garbage cans in the front of the house.
ok i get its tall but my st aug would just get thin and go 12 to 14 inches high, but this is THICC and tall, how?
If you wana make it real nice after you weed whack you mow it again to get all the clippings good.
This was hard to watch, trim first, blow the grass away from the next area you are going to cut to save on the machine (didn't look like it struggled but it would be quicker this way). Go back and forth then up and down after you cut a section to better mulch it up.
Shannalangley yes love you McAlester girl ❤🖤💜🧡💛💚💙
going around trees. ha e you ever hit a tree root before?
Oh yes, We have cypress trees here and you never know where those cypress knees are in thick grass. And I have tagged the oak and pine roots. Always exciting. Doesn't damage this mower though.
Same light (top) as last time? 😂
Same footage as last time. This is just real time instead of timelapse and music. People ask for these.
Doh! Sorry 😳
what part of florida are you at?
Far east Orlando
cool i live in lake county
Ricardo Lupian Cool. Get any hurricane damage there?
Ricardo Lupian Yea, wasn't nearly as bad as the news said it would be.
from looking out my door my trash can fell over. but on the news it showed trees falling on vehicles and houses, flooding and powerlines broken, no electricity no water, where i live during the storm my electricity did no even go out and i had water, i was lucky, but people on the coast suffered.
doesn't the city or county get on the land owners for having such tall yards?
More so HOA. I think over 18" Then the County/code enforcement pays you a visit
There aren't any HOA's in Oregon that I know of. I guess HOA's have their place. But I've always heard citizens turn others into either city authorities or county depending where the house/property is located.
Oh yea, the HOA gives them a real hard time. Which is probably why they called me.
10" wow where I live my weekly yards can get there in a week with maybe 2-3 rainy days then sun for the rest
woah. Another Oregonian. That’s awesome
Shouldn't we collect those clippings? I thought that many was harmful.
Not in Florida. Composting happens very quickly here. You won't even be able to find it next time you cut it.
Myth that endures forever. Basically go over enough to break them up to small clippings and they are actually beneficial to the soil. What's harmful is loading landfills with tons of grass clippings. People want their yard to look like a golf course. Ever see a golf course get bagged??
Brutal
ive ran a scag for years great mower thought nothing cut match not true.i switched brands because the dealers in my area for scag or horrible.fifty hours in very happy with great dealer support with loaner program and better warranty.missing nothing.
So what brand did you switch to?
john deere 920M 23.5 kawi. 48 deck.
Too much back and forth. I like watching row by row.
Keep the discharge chute closed while you mow or else you will be liable for personal injury when you hit someone with flying debris... Leave it down for safety reasons...why take the chance that you could lose everything in a lawsuit because you bypasses the safety chute by holing it open!
It would be faster if you would just buy a trailer and put a bagger unit on it. It's costing you a lot of money and gas just going back and forth just to make it look good because someone didn't call you to start with period cause they're cheap charging the pricing bag in it plus you'll get a free trailer out of it. Take the grass off and down the road you go
I mow 10 yards a day. I'm not going to bag grass. Any amount of extra time or gas beats taking it with me.
MS, I cut lawns also and the cuttings are great free food for the lawn. I like never bag and I use mulching blades that chop the cuttings up very fine. By doing that it creates a richer looking lawn scape.
why dont you use the trimmer first then the mower will pick up trimmings
Jim Yule good question. Probably be easier to mow around stuff with the borders / objects done.
I'm pretty sure you just cut down a forest.
I would’ve trimmed first
If i were you I would have stopped at a farm and picked up some goats, cows and horses and let them get their belly fill. Then go back and mow it
LOL, that's a really great idea!
It would be for that yard!
Based on this lawn, I can imagine how horrible these people are to the neighborhood ! They obviously do not care!
They care. They're going through some tough times right now. I'm mowing this lawn much more often now.
Something 2LookAt I forgot that sometimes people are jerks. But sometimes they are having problems we'll never know about. Sorry.
Turd Ferguson Ha, well you're right though. Most of the time people are just jerks. :) My favorite is when they're driving a new Mercedes then pay me half of my bill with a post dated check. They say they'll "catch up with me soon." Now those people are jerks!
Something 2LookAt i had a lady pull up to her house that i was doing in a mecaties. next she told me she couldnt pay me, and if thats not bad enough sh said that are on a budjet and have to eat cheap (at red lobster)
I hope you charge more for a out of control yard like this
name
Sorry but again cutting the grass too short.
Cutting down to the grass plant stem will make the grass plants grow aggressively quicker and thicker to repair itself.
Grass that is ripped or shredded as it is here instead of a neat higher cut will grow slower.
Happy to concede that you may have a busy workload so chopping the grass as low as you can is required in your opinion but I challenge you to try to cut a property with just cutting the grass leaf and see the results for yourself, it will grow back slower if not hacked down to the bottom of the stem which results in fast coarse growth which is harder to maintain and has a negative effect on your equipment.
It is not my opinion. I actually agree with you. Customer says cut it short. Many of my yards I actually cut at the proper height, 4.25-4.5"
Grass too high, had to be collected
You cut this one about 6 times..did you get paid for doing it 6 times? You put in quite a bit of extra time or was it your fault it got so tall due to weather or breakdown?
It was the sad story about being out of work and all that. I saw it would make a good video so I did it for regular price. UA-cam more than made up for it. I don't even really have to charge the people anymore. :)
Why do you shoot all the grass up against the house? I shoot the grass away from the house
if it gets in neighbor yard then use a blower, or you might want to consider cutting at a higher height?
Oh no, don't underestimate people. The neighbors would absolutely freak if I blew that into their yard. People in that neighborhood are very very particular. They were watching me like a hawk. They'd freak if I even walked into their yard. Hard to keep everybody happy.
I absolutely understand, keep up the good videos thanks for the responce
you mist a bit and when are you going to cut this long grass
First
SURE WASTE ALOT OF TIME AND GAS GOING OVER IT SO MANY TIMES. MAKE 2 PASSES CLOCK WISE AND THEN GO COUNTER CLOCK WISE AND STOP THROWING IT ON TOP OF ITSELF.
I like your videos but it’s unfortunate when a residential yard is that overgrown you like most landscapers for hires don’t side discharge all of it to one side and then rake it up and remove it in a barrel or two. Yeah yeah it take 10 more mins. This isn’t about returning nitrogen to feed the grass you’re top coating the crap out of the lawn with TONS of unnecessary thatch and fungus promotion.
This is Florida. Composting happens lightening fast here and it's not an issue. You cannot find any thatch by the next cutting.Fortunately I am in Florida and never have to haul away these huge amounts of grass. Especially since the customers are usually very cheap and never pay enough or ask for such a thing as bagging.
WTF is this a foreclosure or something, how do people let their lawns get like that.
He had lost his job for a while.
Give mi Job please
U are going over that front way to many times my 48" Exmark would do it faster and it's a rider I never seen anyone with the rider cut the way u do it's like your a rookie but I love your videos
Reason is so that he can mulch it very finally and it doesn't have thick grass clumps throughout the lawn
oh hes not a rookie
Wow. Yea, I'm a rookie. Just got started 25 years ago. You suggesting to leave piles of grass all over the place?
Something 2LookAt Mate, trust me. You sure aint no rookie.
You sure know how to cut grass. And im sure no mower would be able to cut through that forest of grass and cut it finely with one or two passes.
orkhan combe Thanks. This mower has been very helpful at controlling these cleanups pretty quick. I mean, the whole cleanup with filming was only about an hour.
I’m younger than you a better at cutting grass
