Good video mate, I always wondered how these machines worked!

You should look into a finishing pad it helps to remove the swirl marks as well as using different compounds. I got a video up if you decide to watch it. I used the meguiars when I first started and it was okay but I wasn't 100% satisfied with it. It's much better than the standard jfj stuff, but when I switched to the 3M perfect it series, I never looked back. Also, for the nut, you should cut out a small ring of towel or microfiber, so like that, the center doesn't get scratched when tigtening down the nut. I since switched to the push button upgrade, so I don't worry about it anymore, but sometimes the nut leaves these score marks when you tighten down to hold the disc.

What are the finishing pads called? Is that a seperate pad you put polish on? If it stops swirls that would help massivley, are they just called jfj finishing pad?

@Frazerflips Yes they are pads, Jfj I think since realized it although a bit late but they made a new yellow pad that's supposed to be softer. I bought a meguiars DFF6 and cut it down to size they do make the DFF5 that should fit All you have to do is cut a hole in the middle to make it fit into the machine. It's a finishing pad that helps bring out the mirror finish. Like those on dark or black colored cars. It removes the fine micro scratches if done correctly. In my video you can see me handling a black ps1 disc and it comes out immaculate.

@Frazerflips what happens in theory is that the standard polishing pads are too rough. Do imagine if you are detailing paint on a vehicle, it has a similar texture. They use different pads and applications to help eliminate those problems, so it would be a similar process.

@Frazerflips Yes! I use ultra machine polish it is also blue compound but much better than the standard stuff. Use a glasses microfiber and be gentle with the disc it should turn out fine 🙂

Mine arrived yesterday, god send as I had about 80 games which were sat as dead stock. Blu ray still not very pleased with the results on PS3 and Xbox one....any tips?

Hi mate, To be honest with xbox one and Ps3 disks, most I buy seem to be good condition because they are blu ray discs. I would definatley avoid using the "sanded pads" on these, I would just do 20 seconds with alot of compound seems to do the trick

Hello Andy. Hope you are ok? Have you cleaned PS3 disks in your machine before? I seem to remember doing them & it took all the silver off

Hi so i tend not to really do ps3 disk as they are blu ray disks, .ost the time the condition of the disks are very good. There are tutorials how to do ps3 disks but you need to be very careful and do inclaments on 10.seconds.

I have some questions , how much long will the creams they give you last like how many discs can you do before the creams or liquids run out if you put only a little bit on each disc and also where else can i get the the second cream from

so usually I buy the Halfords compound which is 14 quid and a 1 litre bottle. I use 2 to 3 small dollops on the pad per disc, id say you can get 250-300 discs if your careful. some disc obviously require more solution than others, but its one of those things you get use to over time.
So the Meguiars compound is amazon/ Halfords 14 quid a bottle.
The white solution I get from a ebayer aldazsupplies, its abit more pricier than the amazon alternative but its slightly better.

With blu ray disks you have to be very careful, i only do 10 or 20 seconds on the jfj if that, the JFJ is pure brute force.

Considered adding an outro to the video? Adds 30 seconds run time to the video and allows you to put up a video people can click next and a logo for the channel people can click to subscribe. We do it on our other channel, @dailywrestling
