  • China has one tenth of the world’s wetlands with the diversity types and various species. In this episode, we will see the legendary stories of the finless porpoises and elks in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, China's largest artificial and natural wetland constructed by the floods. Mangroves on the southeastern coast of China have become home to many animals, not only different mangroves here, egrets occupy the entire canopy of the trees, fiddler crabs emerging after the ebb, mudskipper has the unique bouncing skills, Chinese horseshoe crab is the world's oldest marine creature and Chinese black sleeper, who resides in shallow water around the roots of mangrove trees. Many species are living in the karst caves of southwestern China, including red mullet hidden deep in streams, Guizhou beaufortia leveretti with the unique body color, giant salamander is the largest, most primitive species of all existing amphibians in the world and the Micangshan japalura living on the walls of the cave. We can also see that one of China’s three most well-known plateau lakes-the Grass Sea gathered many birds, Openbill storks from tropical areas, Bar-headed geese from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and also black-necked arriving here for spend the winter. They not only need to feed their life here, but also learn to live with the human world. The marshy wetland located in the southwestern corner of Qinghai Lake, it has become a place for swan and cormorant breeding their next generation. The Black-necked Crane Couple who returned to the old nest in Qinghai Lake will also face the new challenge of survival.

    OK, so I'm at 1min15sec into the vid and I'm no longer watching it because it's too much 'doom and gloom', catastrophsizing, and fear-mongering - especially with the narrator saying these poor animals are under INCREASING threat!

      I mean, yeah. The truth sucks sometimes. It'll be hard to enjoy future nature documentaries if we just let tons of species die out and watch ecosystems go tits up.
