Great video and it should be a very helpful program for all non BaseCamp users.

Absolutely. Like most of us say about BaseCamp: "Ain't nobody got time for that!" :-D
GPX.studio is one of the main tools we use in the office. It's just too easy.

Wow...great timing. I decided to purchase a GPS navi as my primary vs phone. The XT2 is nice but having access to THIS tool is perfect. Thanks Florian. I am also going to "borrow" some of the GPX files online. btw I am a long time subscriber of RR. LOVE the mag!!! Hope your mother is doing well.

It seems to work for existing gpx files. However, importing POIs first and then plotting a route to connect them seem impossible, which bears the question: if I can create and edit a gpx file elsewhere, why do I need GPX.studio? Please tell me what I'm missing.

What's your question? Are you importing POIs or starting with placing POIs? Big difference. POIs and the route are different layers, so you can't connect POIs to create a route. POIs are things like parks, restaurants, hotels, etc.
GPX.studio is one of many solutions to create and edit routes, but it's by far one of the easiest solutions that also keeps your privacy in mind. It's a quick and easy tool.

@@florianneuhauser8027 Thanks for replying, and thanks for the magazine, BTW. I enjoy reading it for a long time.
Anyway, I start with importing 25+ waypoints/POIs, lets say for one of the "go-at-your-own-pace" tours that are out there. No rally, nothing competitive. Now I want to plot a route, connecting them all.
I get the layers thing, but if I click on "New Route" or "edit", all POIs disappear. It's not that I can overlay the route layer over the POI layer, they are gone. Or I can't figure out how to do it.
Thanks again for taking the time, keep up the good work with the magazine! Cheers!

Jumped on the site right after watching your video. I had an issue *immediately* with the route line sticking on the map. Literally.... clicked on starting point, clicked on next point down the road - but when I space across the map to get to the next point, the map moves but the route line does not. So the route line ends up "floating" somewhere else on the map. I referred back to your video a few times & I'm doing everything the exact same way you are. Yes, I have the "Follow Roads" box checked in the dialog box that pops up right after clicking on "New GPX". I can't move around the map without the route line I started 'floating' aimlessly. What am I doing wrong?

Strange, we haven't had that problem. Did you try restarting the browser or using a different web browser?

@@roadrunnermag Yes, I tried it in Chrome and in Firefox. What browser are you using?
