Hey guys!! 🦋 I dare you to commit to one positive thing you’ll do this summer (big or small!) and comment it here to inspire others 🤍🥰 I’m committing to switching my bank to a greener bank 🫡 I’ve been putting it off *forever* because I hate these bureaucratic tasks, but it’ll feel good knowing my money isn’t being used to fund projects which are bad for the environment!! Huge huge love for being here
For me it would probably be learn about social issues - I believe that we can be the best versions of ourselves when we know how to be compassionate, considerate, tolerant, and understanding. It makes it easier to connect and interact with people from different cultures, religions, and backgrounds
I’ll try to quit fast fashion! I lack clothes for really warm temperatures and I was thinking about buying some but instead I can look thru my grandma’s old clothes. Also, I treat clothes-shopping as a pleasant way to spend time with my sister but it’s definitely not worth the climate-contamination and bad-conditions-unpaid-labour it causes. I think that baking, hiking or just sitting-in-one-room-doing-our-own-things are great alternatives ❤
I recommend Triodos bank! They’re great! I switched to them as soon as I turned 18 a few months ago and they did all the heavy lifting for me, so it was super easy to switch :)
A note on number #24 if you're in England, the law changed in 2020 to allow more people to donate by making it an opt-out rather than an opt-in, so all adults (over 18) in the England "are now considered to have agreed to be an organ donor when they die unless they have recorded a decision not to donate or are in one of the exuded groups", the law is also similar in the rest of the UK and crown dependencies but its good to check what your countries law says about organ donation
honestly, you're a HUGE role model. I'm your age, and I couldn't feel more inspired by your work; how you try to spread magic, positivism, wisdom, and love definitely shows how wonderful you must be. Thanks a lot for all the good with which you're contributing to society.
I'm glad I found you, you're sunshine to my darkness 💗 Tier 1 -Check in with a friend -Practice act of kindness -Compliment barista -Write a letter to a loved one -Learn about sustainable reading -Stop saying mean things -Participate in a charity -Gift something to a loved one -Start journalling -Donate to a charity Tier 2 -Invest in mental health -Create a productivity system -Learn financial literacy -Volunteer -Fall in love -Work out which impact area interest you most Tier 3 -Work towards impactful career -Read about parenting -Learn about social issues -Become a mentor -Create a social media to inspire -Become a blood or organ donor -Learn about politics -Set up monthly recurring donation to a charity -Start to give up fast fashion
Needed this after an emotional Women’s World Cup final ✨❤️ England may not have won the game but they’ve won the hearts of so many young girls and women, just like you Jade ✨ so amazing to see such inspirational women making a positive difference online and in sport!
@@thetragicyouth I know where you’re coming from but I don’t think we need to bring the men into the conversation. Similarly to what Alex Scott said, equality is not about tearing down others. There doesn’t need to be a battle. It’s about giving women and women’s sport equal opportunities and a space to inspire and define and carve out their own journey and success.
Another suggestion: participate in a research study! It's both a new experience, helps a specific researcher and scientific discoveries overall. Additionally, you often earn some small money in the process. :) If you're close to a university, it's great to participate in a study on-site but there are also options for online surveys if that's the only way you could contribute. Studies are easy to find if you attend a university yourself but you might have to e.g. reach out to the local psychology department to ask where you can look for study ads.
I'm studying to become a public defender, which is such a hard job to achieve in my country (Brasil). But it's been a long while since I've stopped to think about how I'm actually working towards having a career that makes such a positive impact in the world. It definitely gave me an extra push of motivation being reminded of that. Thank you, Jade
I'm new to your channel, but this video reminded me how this summer I bought a couple of packages of ice cream for strangers. I shared it with some girls who were working outside of the shop and were conducting a survey. Just because I felt like it for a moment. I remember as a kid, some guy opened a package of chocolates on the new year and just gave them away to everyone on his way, beaming so brightly! I was like 7 at the time, but it still makes me smile every time I recall it☺️
Hey! I'm just really thankful for your video. These kinds of videos are often focused on self-development, productivity, hustle, and frankly I'm not in that phase anymore. Your ideas seem to be predominantly focused on community and the wider world, our health and wellbeing, and truly, I'm positively surprised after watching this video. Thank you, take care!
16:54 totally agree with you Jade. One of the main export item in Sri Lanka is textile. Most of workers are female. They come from different rural areas and they work from morning to night, and as I have heard their basic salary is like £96. But they work extra hours to feed their families. Most workers are very young, even their accommodation facilities are poor. And in my family it's kind of a principle to buy something with good quality and wear that for a very long time.(until it is UNWEARABLE 😅). Love someone from my generation share the same opinion on fashion. Fashion is something suitable for us, not a trend. Not all fashion styles suitable for everyone. And all the tips are really helpful, gonna try atleast 3 or 4 in my next vacation. Thank you so much❤
Did the first one just recently actually. I’ve started learning about finances (feel stupid not knowing about all that yet but hey, that’s how it is) The self-care thing, so going to be doing that. Need to get good habits in place while I have the time. Thank you for saying love/romantic relationships isn’t innately easy, not heard anyone say that before
This is so inspiring, definitely going to look into the banking one! One thing I would add to the list is reducing meat and dairy intake and trying more vegan recipes- this is one of the best things you can do for the environment and animals.
Thank you so much for curating this list and sharing it with us. Lately I've been feeling like I can be a better person, and it's reassuring that there's endless practical things I can do for me to come closer to this goal. For now, I'm commiting to: -checking in on some friends from high school -journaling more often and with more consistency
I realized that I'm actually going to do some of these things, and it makes me feel really good knowing that I will be affecting people's lives positively. As always, your videos are super inspiring and make me want to pursue better habits and learn how to be kinder to myself and others, so thank you for that. ❤❤
Jade, your summer ideas are pure gold! I'd already planned to start a blog and learn more about the semiconductor industry for an impactful career. Your suggestion of checking in with a friend and starting a casual magic journal really struck home (already planned a meet with previous classmates! ♥). Last week, I penned letters of appreciation to all of my AS teachers who played a huge role in me achieving 4A's. (Not to my loved ones, but I think I score half marks for that... 😉) Thanks for the inspiration and for helping making this summer one to remember! ☀🙌
Last advice, so important! I will have a project at university called clothes and climate and it is to inform about the impacts of shein or any other fast fashion companies! AAAAnd 2nd hand is so much fun and vulnerable!
Love your video ! I started volunteer every week during the summer. The only things that I bought come from thrifting. Moreover, I did some reading about society issues. I was looking for ideas and then I realised that I have in fact an impactful summer. You made me realized it !
such an amazing video as always, Jade. thank you for raising awareness on so many pressing issues, especially about climate change and animal welfare!! you're the best!!
So glad to see the fast fashion one on here :D I started buying my clothes second-hand about a year ago and haven't looked back since- you can find so many quirky pieces for low prices in charity shops. The app Vinted is great too because I love that it helps out fellow humans :) Finding out my bank was 100% green was also a very positive surprise! Productivity-wise, you've just inspired me to create a Notion account; why has nobody told me about this before?! I start college next year and I just know it's going to save my life. P.S. Your channel has been guiding me out of my uninspired slump recently, thanks for being such a ray of sunshine
Wow I can't express how happy I am about you sharing all these beautiful things on youtube 🧡! Thank you for contributing making the world a better place ! I planned my carrier based on impact like it's recommended by 80 000 hours and I encourage everyone thinking at it moreover if you're still a student and can easily choose a degree based on it. Thank you again Jade ✨ My casual magic of the day 🐦 the delicious vegan meal I ate for lunch in a little restaurant in Paris 🍃 My impactful action of the summer : writing my thesis about the place of plant-based protein in food security in West Africa
I love this video! Last night I reached out to a friend I haven't spoken to in months and it was so nice to catch up and reconnect! I really want to focus on being grateful for the lovely people in my life and being present with them now instead of ruminating on things in the past
I’ve been learning a language, preparing for university by reading basic clinical skills, donating to food banks, always hold the door open, and just keeping on top of recycling. My parents have gone from just recycling plastic 5 years ago to now we literally recycle everything that is possible to be
This video right here is one of the reason I love this sweetest creature of a human being. Also I love your hair situation girl. Your hair looks so healthy and nourished and beautiful. YOU look SO beautiful. While I was watching this video and as you were listing things down there were some small things that I already do unconsciously that just started popping up in my head and I realized that that must've made the other person happy and that made me happy. Like this one time I was going somewhere and on my way I saw a girl whose scooter was not starting and it was actually just a small problem and I have experience with scooters so I helped her and I didn't thought of it that much until I saw this video. Not that I helped her for praise or anything it just made me feel good to think about that. During the start of this year I created a casual magic journal. I got the idea and inspiration from you. I also started the full moon journal also inspired by you and now they both are filled with so many small little moments that made me happy. I am so grateful to you for that and I am so grateful to have found you. I'm committing to building a carrier to fight climate change and use technology for betterment of society. I am am engineer studying AI and I want to use this amazing technology to help humanity. P.S. Thanks for all the great recommendations. I don't usually trust recs on internet easily but yours I trust blindly. Also sorry for the long text. Thanks for existing
Thank you for this! I’ve really been trying with #23 and trying to build up an inspiring social media platform to help people with their mental health. I started a UA-cam channel and its taking its sweet time to grow but thank you for the motivation to keep going 🎉❤
Reading into parenting is such an interesting and good one that you have here on your list. I’m 10 years older than you and I wish I had read about parenting before becoming a parent!
Thank you jade. This is an amazing video. I'm grateful that you created this UA-cam channel and positive community and I'm grateful that I found you and part of this beautiful community. Sending loads of love to you 💜💕
Thank you for sharing your knowledge, you’ve really inspired me to take new steps so i can have a more positive impact in this world, and the switch is green website is so so insightful!
This video is so amazing, I found it so cool Jade because our religion teaches us all these things and its very easy to take this knowledge to granted but alot of people would love to hear all this. I'm so grateful for the teachings and values I grew up in. (Alhumdulillah)
I loveee the barista one especially at my fave coffee shop😢❤❤ Yess im gonna commit to learning about social issues! Theres so much beautiful literature regarding racism for example and its great to be educated on that abd become a better person❤
Amazing video! One I would like to add: include the birthdays of your family and friends in your calendar. Nobody dislikes getting a birthday wish on their birthday. :)
You have such a humble and realistic way of delivering your videos. You are constantly positively impacting people from all corners of the world. May you be blessed to be fulfilled and gratified with everything you set your mind to and may you have peace of mind and success 🦋✨🤎🌻
#28. Exercise daily. No matter how you like to do it to quote the world's most famous shoe brand, "Just Do It" and do it on a daily basis. If there is one thing I could go back and tell my teen/ early 20ish self it's that. It's so easy in school because gym is mandatory but as you get older and set behind a computer/tablet/TV/video game/steering wheel the worse it gets. Plus Jade what happened to you becoming a Vet? Sounds like you would be amazing at it.
Thank you for this very inspiring video 🤩 I also wanted to change my bank since forever but did not do it until now for the same reasons as you 😉 I am committing to do it before getting back to classes ! One of the other impactful idea that would have a laaaarge impact is to travel more sustainably (low carbon, locally). For all Europeans here, I cannot recommend enough to buy an Interrail pass and discover all the amazing places Europe as to offer ! I went on my 2nd Interrail trip this summer, and I just love how travelling is also part of the journey :) Rediscovering local / national places around your home is also so nice and will help deconstruct the collective imaginary of trips that need to be at Bali (or any place at the other side of the planet) to be "cool", "worthy" or nice. And I think influencers have a huge role to play into changing these imaginaries and power to influence a lot of people 🌺 PS : as a reminder, to respect the COP15 Paris agreement, in average every people's footprint should be 2tCO2e/year. A Paris-Bali round trip is already 4,8tCO2e, so one spend already more than 2 years "budget" with that trip...
This inspired me to contact close friends that I hadn't messaged in a while as we live in different countries. Thank you so much for the amazing content you put out!
Jade - smiling at strangers might work from a woman, but not from a guy, trust me! We are usually met with aggressive or defensive snarls (and worse). 🤔😮💨
You are just awesome🔥🔥but also in case of meditation yoga practising also faith is very important ( the essence of everybody )... Have a great time always ❤️❤️❤️🚀
#17 lol im trying…im trying (fall in love 😂) As a woman do people ever get confused with you holding the door as it was classically a more male dominated sign of respect I only say this as i do it and people get a bit thrown by it sometimes like im trying to take something or idk? Ive invested a lot of time into these things…as an aussie some it comes pretty easy the topics i havent had the time to incorporate would be my bank account…and the recommended books you suggested I wonder whether we have lark in oz? The fact that it self cleans is very cool 😎 Thank you Jade ❤
i always used to grab coffee before work and was always saying my pleases and thank yous ! i will do when i visit again too but still worried about covid
one time i witnessed them dealing with someone particularly horrible - after he'd gone, i went and made sure they were ok - it was two young ladies and i think they were grateful i asked xxx
Jade! Would love to hear financial tips (you’ve mentioned ISA) in the UK system especially for those of us that have just recently realised there’s so many ways to save
Just found your channel with this video! Thanks for making this video and using your channel to motivate, create positivity, and help others while improving yourself! I have been watching different productivity videos here on UA-cam like Mariane Cresp video about her well-being planner and a 6 month review video, Tiffany Shelton 12 week Year goal planning videos where she uses a habit tracker, JashiiCorrin mental health journal has videos with ideas like self-care bingo, and Helen from the channel TheCoffeeMonsterzCO has some great journal and planner videos! Kennedy from the channel Cozy K has cozy hobbies to try videos that would be nice for self-care!
Have done a few of these so far, and looking into creating an inspiring s.m. platform. Wdyt of impending rampant A.I. deep-faking? I value my image and unsure whether to hold back or not.. 💡
has Jade EVER worked in the service industry or retail or customer service at alll??? Can she understand being on the other side of the random compliment and how it may be taken the wrong way? just wondering....

i want to learn to journal properly- i was watching your journaling video the other day! xx

And I think influencers have a huge role to play into changing these imaginaries and power to influence a lot of people 🌺
PS : as a reminder, to respect the COP15 Paris agreement, in average every people's footprint should be 2tCO2e/year. A Paris-Bali round trip is already 4,8tCO2e, so one spend already more than 2 years "budget" with that trip...
This inspired me to contact close friends that I hadn't messaged in a while as we live in different countries. Thank you so much for the amazing content you put out!
This is just what I needed. Such an inspiration! Thank you ❤
Jade, you gave very good advice and excellent tips to people what they should do in the summer. Are you planning to become a vet?

Jade, this video is so inspiring and beautiful. Thank you! 💙
Jade - smiling at strangers might work from a woman, but not from a guy, trust me! We are usually met with aggressive or defensive snarls (and worse). 🤔😮💨
You look stunning as always. Keep working hard.

I'm thinking of, quitting fast fashion(like re-quitting it^^ by earning money and save it to buy more sustenable clothes,) and discover NOTION
#17 lol im trying…im trying (fall in love 😂)
As a woman do people ever get confused with you holding the door as it was classically a more male dominated sign of respect
I only say this as i do it and people get a bit thrown by it sometimes like im trying to take something or idk?
Ive invested a lot of time into these things…as an aussie some it comes pretty easy
the topics i havent had the time to incorporate would be my bank account…and the recommended books you suggested I wonder whether we have lark in oz? The fact that it self cleans is very cool 😎
Thank you Jade ❤

one time i witnessed them dealing with someone particularly horrible - after he'd gone, i went and made sure they were ok - it was two young ladies and i think they were grateful i asked xxx

Jade! Would love to hear financial tips (you’ve mentioned ISA) in the UK system especially for those of us that have just recently realised there’s so many ways to save
Edit: the switch is green thing is AMAZING!!
This is a great list already. But it could be a little bit cooler if you put starter links in. So we can start doing them straight away

Video uploaded the day Summer ends for me 🙂👍
Have done a few of these so far, and looking into creating an inspiring s.m. platform. Wdyt of impending rampant A.I. deep-faking? I value my image and unsure whether to hold back or not.. 💡
Thank you ❤
