Listening to I'll be your Johnny on the Spot for the second time I unliked and reliked this video just so I could give it 2 thumbs up. Deaner and Gener and the entire band at their best for the entire show, as usual.
@@twomindz79 There's an old, unconfirmed story about how an interviewer once asked Eric Clapton how it felt to be the best guitarist in the world, and he allegedly replied "I don't know. You should ask Prince."

The thing I love most about this is just how much of an amazing time everybody in the crowd is having, as if they simply cannot stop screaming in joy at any given moment..!
The craziest thing is it wasn’t even huge show. Maybe 1k ppl in the mall parking lot. Like it has pit area set up then chairs and like chairs were empty. It a was a a while ago but it was a banger show
I was at this show. It was literally in a fenced in section of the Fayetteville mall. It rained all day so it was pretty damn muggy as you can clearly see. Saw them the next night at Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa too. Glad I did, they were playing so tight every night back then.
This show alone has had a profound effect on me during this utmost important Weeny phase of my life. What an awesome band. What absurd and awesome songwriting. What a tireless and awesome performance.
My first ween shows. It was my second year at college and I loved 5 min away, it was great. Saw prints at the same venue also cake all in one year or so
I've never really got why Ween gets lumped in with "Jam Bands" so hard until that version of Pandy. Some of the improvisational interaction between Glen and Claude really shine and they both always seem to know when to step back and let it be a rock band again. Love it.
Deaner plays with a iron right hand. Like Steve Jones from Sex Pistols. They have so many fantastic songs. And the other 3 bandmembers have always been top top.
Killer show and Papa sounds mostly phenomenal but mang, he kinda butchers the Argus and Miggs absolutely carries it and I wouldn’t even mention it if the Argus wasn’t sacred- it is. The guitar work at the end over lying in beds makes me weep like a little bitch. Aside from this papa has all the flare and is just full force and Mickey is on fire- like I’m shocked his guitar didn’t spontaneously combust.
They're never bad, ever.

what a killer setlist
and holy shit that golden eel was tight
@@reggieloudson an unexpected highlight. That Eel went hard
The Eel must have told them their secrets unbeknownst to the wandering eye :3

The way the spotlight dramatically shoots out onto Gener’s face is so epic.
One time, Prince was asked how it felt to be the best guitarist in the world, and he said, "I don't know. Ask Dean Ween."
hahahahah i love it!!
Why would they ask prince?

@@Drchernus Right. I would assume Eric was being facetious.

You can mine for diamonds in Arkansas. I found one in this performance. What a kickass set. Thanks for posting.

this was under a tent in a goddam mall parking lot. they still brought the heat. 🔥
This has to be one of the best concerts humans have ever performed and attended. Just wow.
Chocolate Town is my favorite Ween tune with a killer solo
it is definintely one i go too.. like a pacifer.. sky cruiser is another feel good hit i cant shake
Your mother might disagree. Please convince her.
I want Deaner to feed me mushroom like a baby bird.
Vermit the room brown.

I was there too. I thought I remembered it really being in a big parking lot. My memory is a little fuzzy though.
Gene's voice is really on point with this show. And the whole band sounds great.
I don't care if they're a hundred years old they will never stop rocking
Great show. Claude's drum sound SOOOOO good in this recording. Just poppin!
God bless you for recording and posting. You’re a legend. Ty!

this is the funkiest little venue I have EVER been to! Literally in a mall parking lot. Saw Primus there with The Dead Kenny G's
Happy to see this uploaded. I went to this show and they killed.
This show was on my birthday :) amazing set! 🤘🏻 what a show!!!
Is Dean the most underrated guitarist in history?
YES.
Absolutely YES
Yes
Totally. Glad i got into Ween. Now i appreciate a lot more the live performances of any artist, and let me tell you, Ween and tight are synonymous
Go see them any chance you get, it’s so much fun!
This was my first ween show. What a fucking performance and setlist
Thanks for this Mr. Nooch! This is one of my favorite shows.
Oh snap! I didn't know this was uploaded. My first Ween show!
Dean goes to sing during the mollusk, realizes the mic is too far away, says fuck it
Best version of I'll Be Your Jonny On The Spot I've heard :-)
Gene having an absolute blast on the cowbell!
Was listening to the show in its entirety but went back for a second helping of Johnny.
Does anyone have footage of these guys at Dave’s on Dickson 2003?? I was there (as a fetus)
I wish. I was at that show and this one.
Ween is my happy place.
This is now the second time I've learned of a favorite band being in Fayetteville that I was unaware of. Thank you so much for posting this!!
I'm enjoying this more now that the phone's screen is cracked
That's the brownest comment
It's a trip to have stumbled on this. I was at this show. Pretty close to the front.
One of the best out there! No better place than fayetville AK to showcase!

BEST BAND EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great set, great playing, and great crowd. Thanks for sharing.
God they are so good can’t wait for when they start playing again.
Later this year!
Claude is such a great drummer.
this thanksgiving i am thankful for nooch!
Learning is such a fun song and, like so much of WEEN, the studio is great but it's so much more, live.
Hail Boognish
This is great!
I dream Dean and Gene are my best friends all the time. I dream they play on my acres of land. I love you Ween
Wish I was there!
I was... it was lifechanging

GOLDEN EEL OMFG I AM JUST GOING TO SHUT UP AND WATCH THE WHOLE SET
fuck I love these guys
Wish I was there this show was killer
Why do gene and dean have the same clothes on
they appear to be wearing their own clothes but they are uncannily similar in appearance... 2 guys cant fit into regular sized pants
Boy's Club?
maybe they share wardrobes
This may be their best live set I’ve seen
I often describe ween as being like the kids who barely ever showed up to class but somehow aced every subject
Gene being the Prima Donna and Dean just happy to be there showing off his enormous chops
02:01:38 Tried And True
ive seen them twice now and have yet to see them play the argus.... 1:17:09 i would die here!!! SOOOOO GOOD!!
lmao deaner is pretty sauced by the end
one of the best blarney stone takes holy fuck
what happened to the puppy?
I love how Glenn is just mouthing along "AIDS! HIV!" in the HIV Song opener
FUCK YES
Shamemaker though! I know it’s unpopular, but I’ve always wanted to catch it live
Epic Ween
Fuckin' beautiful.
They really need to come back here 😭
Oklahoma in february..... Go!!!!!!!!
DEAN IS JUST LOST IN HIS ELEMENT AT 1:26 I found this passage in the bible DEAN1:26
I guess Gene didn’t wanna play boys club lol
Kicked it with the guys(separately)after this show....it was the shit.
Great show. I saw the tours end in Brooklyn. Not so great
Deaner plays with a iron right hand. Like Steve Jones from Sex Pistols. They have so many fantastic songs. And the other 3 bandmembers have always been top top.
How do people not like Shamemaker?
I tought lost puppy would be a song. I was wrong.
Gener: “I’m about to do something you’ll never forget”. Crowd: cheers 😂
Damn--- tell me that somebody claimed that sweet pup!
I like chunky Gener. He seems to be doing good these days, praise jesus.
When Gener has that chesire cat grin on his face I like to imagine him seeing everyone in the crowd with their faces melting during the Argus
the puppy just wanted to listen
Woman and Man....DAMN!!!!
47:47 Deaner develops a dingleberry.
“Don’t b stupid” “don’t b stupid” … then looks at the camera and cracks a smile , boyyyee you brat! Lol
(full complete show)
🔥
Those who know... know.
Is that a kustom bass cab?
Yup. DD + Ric + Kustom = fk yea
also was this indoors or was it outside on a very foggy night
It was in a tent in the parking lot of a mall...that fog is from the smoke machine
Dean ogre guitar monster

And this is my cat is named "Deaner"
Holy covid guacamole do I thank you 🤘
Dave and Aaron's bad hair period.
so cool this is pre- Quebec.
No, this is post--cucaracha which is their last album. Zoloft, The Argus and Tried and True, which they play here, are Quebec songs.
im drunk and this is great! AIDS!
the chicks scream for a young Deaner
