Incredible video! I booked a stay at the Plopsa hotel for next month and I'm so excited! I haven't visited Plopsa since I was in elementary school and they added so many more rides ever since (back then, the Dragon coaster was probably the most exciting ride at the whole park). I had no idea life guards at water slides were even a common thing! I never saw any at Belgian or Dutch water parks iirc. I was kind of surprised to see life guards instead of traffic lights at the beginning of every slide when I went to Disney World a couple years ago, but I just assumed it was a Disney thing because they're usually pretty overkill and abundant with staff everywhere. I learn something new every day :)
Plopsia looks like such a fun fantastic park to visit which the indoor splash park reminds me of a winter wonderland theme version of Centre Parcs, You and Charlotte looked to be so overwhelmed with the excitement of the splash park including the heavy theming, saunas steam rooms with a few relaxing vibes especially Charlotte in her element relaxing in the hot tub which are always nice, great vlog both of you
First off all great vlog wanted to take the time to show how much i like what Charlotte been doing to support Shaun and the channel all these years . I realy appreciate all the effort you done and sticking around. The smile you showed in the video at the beginning made me happy that you both came so far love to once meet you both in real life 😊
Hi shawn and Charlotte when I was a child a long time ago 😁 we used to swim in the lake at our local park . There was a specific area for swimming but there was never a life guard. As the years have gone on they stopped the swimming because of health and safety. I'm so glad I got my opportunity to swim in the lake . It's called Black park and it is right next to pinewood studio's where they make all the James Bond movies and many more. It's in Iver Heath Buckinghamshire I've lived there all my life . Fab water park great themeing thanks for sharing with us. Love to you both as always Tracey 💕 xxxx
Definitely looks an amazing short break destination that isn't too far from home. Will definitely look at visiting the park in the future. Thank you both for a great and informative series of videos.
We had a great time in the water park for a couple of hours first thing in the morning last week. It was much quieter and more relaxing. However the wave pool never started once while we were there! My boys absolutely loved the rapids and the slides and I admired the theming. We are visiting Europa park in the summer so after seeing how much they enjoyed this water park, I thought Rulantica would be well worth a visit with them as well.
I life nearby their second waterpark and I love it that it’s completely themed in an other way. The one in de Panne is mostly themed to Wikey the Viking with snowy surroundings an the one over here is themed mostly to maya the bee with lots of flowers and big trees, like you are a bug. The kids area are both Bumba themed. The layout also is completely different, the rapids at the Maya waterpark are longer and a bid faster and dangerous if you can’t swim that good. the outdoor pool also has a kids waterplay aria with the buckets and smal slides and there also one indoor. The wave pool is the same with the rain and there are 3 hot tubs and a sauna also. The big slides are about the same I think 3 a disco on, a slingy one and a drop, they are a bid higher and faster so it looks. There are also 2 regular pools because local schools and swimming clubs go and teach swimming over there. So it is bigger than the one in De Panne but there is no theme park next to it to bad. The food is really expensive and not that great I think. I know they are always looking for staffing because they are short of, difficult to find qualified life guards that are willing to work over there. There have been some accidents in the past, and safety was questioned. Mostly in theme or waterparks over here they assume you wil be smart enough to follow the rules and don’t do anything you can’t handle or doesn’t look save, so it’s your own responsibility, and parents are responsible for their own kids and need to look after them. I am always looking around if there isn’t a kid in trouble and help them if I spot them when I go swim. I wouldn’t travel from far away just to go to plopsaqua over here, but if you life nearby of ar in the neighbourhood it is really fun for sure with kids, I have yearly passes for the family and not regretting it at al, can go to both of their waterparks and get 50% of al their theme parks and 20% of the hotels and go cheaper to other parks all over Europe.
On one of your Phantasialand visits, I suggest trying out Aqualand Köln, it's very near (about 30 min drive, other side of Cologne), and all the slides (except the 1 drop slide) are suitable for you, Shawn. As Phantasialand doesn't have a waterpark, we visit there to accompany our theme park trip.
They might have a guard for the outdoor pool and one for all the slides at the bottom at the busy season (maybe a few more to speed up the drop slide operations)
The slides there there look really fun also not long ago I learnt about this massive water park in Germany which is in a massive air craft hanger which looks incredible. It is the largest indoor water park in the world and it is called Tropical Islands Resort which I think you two might enjoy and I think they allow filming around the waterpark.
Yes, I'd love to see them do a full review of that one! But I also understand that water parks isn't their focus & that Charlotte doesn't really care for them.
Very themed W'Park. Looks amazing, just think it could do with some ambient music to quell the noisy public. Yes, unusual not to see lifeguards at various points, thinking they don't get the rebellious kind visiting. Ideal to be able to do a couple of hours at the end of theme park day. Thanks for showing.
That place looks fab I love the way you take care of Charlotte and yes Shawn they should have more lifeguards there I was really worried when you got stuck in the slide but I have to chuckle how you never miss promoting your site lol lol I was so pleased for you at the end when you said you had the wheel I git quite emotional I think Charlotte did really well to go in there knowing how she feels a out the water on her head safe journey guys see you on the next one xx
I would be on the rapids all day and the theming in there was spectacular. I also feel bad for what happened to Charlotte. Hope you guys enjoyed your time there. It would be a place I would want to visit one day.
It might not look like so, but Plopsa is actually very low on employees. A lot of horeca points and shops won't open. Some attractions stay closed or have a changeprogram with another ride (15 minutes one ride 15 minutes another ride and so on). This also means that they are very low on lifeguards. I think that's the main reason why there were not so many lifeguards. Usually there are a lot more in Belgian waterparks.
I enjoyed this vlog a lot! Also it did remind me of Rulantica before you even said anything. Like you walked in first part of the footage my jaw dropped lol

In the entirety of Europe there usually aren't any lifeguards. At least not on the slides, in the pools there are cameras and people that can save you. It's just that people just need to take their own responsibility and not be an idiot going down the slide in a weird way.
I should note I have grown up swimming and was a competitive swimmer on a county level. Doesn't matter how good you are at swimming, a bout of claustrophobia if the slide current can't bring you or a bump on the head, a bad landing etc can cause some real issues! I'm from the UK and I personally, from what I know and have seen, definitely think there should be more lifeguards
@@bingbongclankiecloop 'If the slide current can't bring you' what do you mean by that? You know that you don't go forwards because of the current right. There's just water running down it to make it more slippery. You go down the slide because the slides goes *downwards*

In the Netherlands and Belgium almost all kids get swimming lessons from age of 6 and up .
It’s a tough one, but if my child was not a strong swimmer, I wouldn’t let them out of my sight with or without life guards. But then, accidents can occur unrelated to swimming ability (in a pool or in a park etc) and a qualified medic/life guard could make all the difference. A tough one.
