Definitely going to try this, but going to add some thin poly batting to the lining and quilt it on before inserting it for final sewing to placemat. It'll give it. Abit of body.
If I have a yard for the top of placemats in Easter fabric and a yard for bottom in a solid how many can i get. And how to cut them to size to work .just need small placemats for children
If you reduce the size slightly (an inch at most) you should be able to cut out 6 rectangles from each yard, although this depends on the exact measurements of your fabric so you'll have to check :)
Thanks! Batting could certainly be used, yes, and you may want to make a simple quilted placemat in that case. There are some good tutorials on You/tube for quilted placemats if you do want that kind of padded style :)
Well done! A truly well thought out and demonstrated lesson in sewing a mitred corner. Hope to see more of you tutorials in the future.

Great video! Can/should I use fabric stabilizer and/or some kind of a batting to make placemats a tad softer/thicker?
Thanks! Batting could certainly be used, yes, and you may want to make a simple quilted placemat in that case. There are some good tutorials on You/tube for quilted placemats if you do want that kind of padded style :)

Never run rotary cutter backward
Nice work but it’s not simple 🤷♀️
Why would my teacher send us such a project when im in 5th grade?!?!
@chxba Oh hey same, I'm also in sixth grade✊
The directions are enormous! I can't see the measurements, I'm sure it is nice but I did not enjoy the video. Maybe because it's 5 years old.
