I'm an INC member. We have several bibles at home in different versions. I also have Magandang Balita version that was given by a minister. As a matter of fact, we we are encouraged to read the Bible and can also ask any questions about our doctrine and the church
Your INC may have been a good branch, like with all religions, there’s a lot of evil churches under INC. we are saved through faith, not because we’re not INC. and let’s make that clear for all!

And even if we read the Bible, you wouldn't understand it anyway. That is why there is a teaching in Romans 10:15, "How can they preach unless they are sent?" To understand the Bible, you must be sent.
That’s why the world is a mess because everyone has their own interpretation of the bible. Why can’t you just submit to the authority of the church. I read the bible all the time but I am still INC. INC people who don’t understand should renew their lives and turn away from sin. As the bible states “Listen to me, you stubborn-hearted, you who are now far from my righteousness. I am bringing my righteousness near, it is not far away; and my salvation will not be delayed. I will grant salvation to Zion, my splendor to Israel.”

I was a member of INC for 1 year. I can attest they are about control and money (even I am in the USA a minister in Capiz, there in Philippines, asked me 3 times to send him money). Was Felix Manalo a messenger of God? Yes, I do believe he was a messenger, NOT the last messenger. But, only Felix. Not his son or grandson. They took out a loan for an arena ( Felix adamantly said to never take out a loan), they built a statue and shrine (Felix adamantly said no graven images). And 3rd every home and church has multiple pictures of the 3 Manalo's. The worship services are about Manalo and NOT about God. I have seen what the ministers do to the officers of the church. It is very sad, almost to tears that they expect my friend there to quickly stop what they are doing and jump every time they call. Even my friends work comes 2nd to the church. Even my friends son (she is a single parent) comes 2nd including his school work. I could go on and on. Maybe 50 years ago the INC was a very good church, but, now, it is a power control cult.

I'm not from Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) either but I was able to complete the doctrine lesson (aral na sinasampalatayanan) before the supposed screening (to know if you truly understand the doctrine of the church) and baptism. One thing is for sure, reading the Bible is heavily encouraged inside or outside of the church. In fact, it's also encouraged not to use your own words or understanding but use only the verses in the Bible when it comes to sharing the word of God specially to non-members that either want or don't want to join the church, to avoid misleading them into the wrong conclusions of man. To put it literally, if someone asks a member to explain his faith on the word of God or why he believes in it, the member should show the other person the verse on the Bible for his answer. That's why it's common to hear from true INC member the line "Let the Bible answer your question", because a true INC member will not explain from his own words but from what's solely written on the Bible and show it on your face and also let's you read it loud and see for your own eyes. It's in the doctrine of the church to use the Bible for sharing the word of God ALL THE TIME (but some members are having hard time following it). Also, the INC's doctrine about God is that you worship the true living God alone (based on the God the Bible is telling, which is the father of Christ in heaven who have sent him to save whoever believes in him from death and sin) and no other god. For INC, Jesus is the Son of God in which his father (the creator) is the true God that Jesus tells us to know and worship, and that he was sent from heaven for us to know this truth, that there's no other God but the Father who created all things. It's kind a long explanation but again, "Let the Bible answer your question". It's sad but it's either she's lying or that she misunderstood the doctrine about reading the Bible or she means different thing because it's definitely a big LIE that members of INC are not allowed or discouraged from reading the Bible. I'm not saying that INC as a church is perfect but I think it's not right to tell things which are untrue about any religion not because you want to defend that religion but simply because "Lying is not right".

I know they read the bible in the worship services. The problem is that the members don't read more that the INC give in the services. And I found so many terrible contradictions in the bible. So sad that the members don't realize that.😞

One Pastor was arrested ,as he told his congregants to sell all their possessions and give them all to him ,according to the Bible ,as he claimed .Many left their cars ,give them away and walked back home .The assistant Pastor reported the Pastor to the police ,who arrested him .There was a Born Again Pastor,who repeatedly raped his own biological daughter,possibly using Bible verses as well .i could go and on .

Many of the INC tell stories of being told not to read the bible because they cannot interpret it. They say that it is only the ministers who are called to interpret the bible for them. I did not intend then to reply anymore because this is just a never ending debate. Our Church through our Ministers can take debates head on though as you can even search here in UA-cam. You have not been reading or searching for the latest news then, which traditional media does not want to report. The Iglesia Ni Cristo is now in over 150+ countries in the 6 inhabitable continents of the world with 150+ different races and nationalities as members. And mind you, most of them do get baptized after undergoing 6 months of Bible Study and Worship Service attendance without the motive of converting because of a fiancé or fiancee. Your question is like asking why is it that in the first century, only Jews and Romans were converted to the original Christianity. There are now several Locale Congregations of the Iglesia Ni Cristo - Church Of Christ outside the Philippines that have more non-Filipijnos as members. In India, Japan, and in other countries in Asia, countries in Africa, in Australia, in Italy, Germany, France, U.K. and other countries in Europe, in Mexico, Brazil, and in other countries in LAtin America, etc. Not to mention THOUSANDS of former Catholic Priests, Nuns and Protestant Pastors who left their former religions which they have been members most of their lives for more than 20 years+ and converted to the INC. It is not surprising to see some members of the INC to leave the Iglesia Ni Cristo - Church Of Christ, even the mother and 3 siblings of the current Executive Minister (not Head) of the INC were excommunicated. Going back to the INC takes at least 6 months with no guarantee of being accepted back. That is another proof that this Church is not owned by the Manalo family/clan. Real excommunication only happens in the True Church. Unlike in the many Protestant Denominations like Jimmy Swagart who after being excommunicatedjust went into another Protestant Denomination. The doctrines are not the leaders doctrines they are the written words found in the scriptures interpreted by the leadership. However, you should be able to read the scriptures that’s what the word is given for to spread the good news. Where is it written that you have to be a minister to read God’s word? Jesus nor any of the apostles who followed him never said you have to be a minister to read the words of God.
I'm an INC member. We have several bibles at home in different versions. I also have Magandang Balita version that was given by a minister. As a matter of fact, we we are encouraged to read the Bible and can also ask any questions about our doctrine and the church

And even if we read the Bible, you wouldn't understand it anyway. That is why there is a teaching in Romans 10:15, "How can they preach unless they are sent?" I was a member of INC for 1 year. I can attest they are about control and money (even I am in the USA a minister in Capiz, there in Philippines, asked me 3 times to send him money). Was Felix Manalo a messenger of God? Yes, I do believe he was a messenger, NOT the last messenger. But, only Felix. Not his son or grandson. They took out a loan for an arena ( Felix adamantly said to never take out a loan), they built a statue and shrine (Felix adamantly said no graven images). And 3rd every home and church has multiple pictures of the 3 Manalo's. The worship services are about Manalo and NOT about God. I have seen what the ministers do to the officers of the church. It is very sad, almost to tears that they expect my friend there to quickly stop what they are doing and jump every time they call. Even my friends work comes 2nd to the church. Even my friends son (she is a single parent) comes 2nd including his school work. I could go on and on. Maybe 50 years ago the INC was a very good church, but, now, it is a power control cult.

I'm not from Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) either but I was able to complete the doctrine lesson (aral na sinasampalatayanan) before the supposed screening (to know if you truly understand the doctrine of the church) and baptism. One thing is for sure, reading the Bible is heavily encouraged inside or outside of the church. In fact, it's also encouraged not to use your own words or understanding but use only the verses in the Bible when it comes to sharing the word of God specially to non-members that either want or don't want to join the church, to avoid misleading them into the wrong conclusions of man. To put it literally, if someone asks a member to explain his faith on the word of God or why he believes in it, the member should show the other person the verse on the Bible for his answer. That's why it's common to hear from true INC member the line "Let the Bible answer your question", because a true INC member will not explain from his own words but from what's solely written on the Bible and show it on your face and also let's you read it loud and see for your own eyes.
It's in the doctrine of the church to use the Bible for sharing the word of God ALL THE TIME (but some members are having hard time following it). Also, the INC's doctrine about God is that you worship the true living God alone (based on the God the Bible is telling, which is the father of Christ in heaven who have sent him to save whoever believes in him from death and sin) and no other god. For INC, Jesus is the Son of God in which his father (the creator) is the true God that Jesus tells us to know and worship, and that he was sent from heaven for us to know this truth, that there's no other God but the Father who created all things. It's kind a long explanation but again, "Let the Bible answer your question".
It's sad but it's either she's lying or that she misunderstood the doctrine about reading the Bible or she means different thing because it's definitely a big LIE that members of INC are not allowed or discouraged from reading the Bible. I'm not saying that INC as a church is perfect but I think it's not right to tell things which are untrue about any religion not because you want to defend that religion but simply because "Lying is not right".

@@missiodeios ^_^ I've been reading the Holy Scriptures several times over from cover to cover since i was a kid. I've been a Catholic for 13 years and an Evangelical Protestant for 5 years. I have since then converted to the Iglesia Ni Cristo - Church Of Christ for almost 40 years now and have not found any teachings of the INC to be unBiblical. Even that one verse 1 Timothy 2:5 you cannot refute hence crushing your unBiblical teaching. Don't just read your Bible. Pray to God and ask for guidance. Ü

The fact the administrators/church decided to affect her family as well shows it all just to bring her back to the church by shows a definately cult behavior. I've been noticing several odd things in the church aftergetting baptized and receiving lessons (I'm handog) and noticed their patterns. And seeing enough from the other members' experiences who left the church gives a clear view on what the church is like the whole time. 😒

Hi. Former INC here for 33 yrs. No steps, we were not encouraged to read the bible kasi di dw mauunawaan, in short wala kang karapatan unless nagstudy ka ng ministerial nila. Alam naman natin yan, wag na tayong maglokohan.

People from INC or the INC itself never told me or everyone that I know that we were never encouraged to buy the Bible. When from Day 1 of my doctrines the 'Manggagawa' or a person in charge in INC told me to buy a Bible on the bookstore. The first 50seconds of what this person is saying is already a BIG LIE. 🤥 so sad 😭
It is her experience. You have no right to tell that she was lying. It may not hold true to you but to her, she was told that. And most likely, it was true. Many of the INC tell stories of being told not to read the bible because they cannot interpret it. They say that it is only the ministers who are called to interpret the bible for them. If your fellow INC ask questions about the bible to the ministers, they are told that "hwag ka nang mgtanong. sumunod ka na lang sa mga sinasabi nmin" or "lumalamig ka na yata" or to that effect. I did not intend then to reply anymore because this is just a never ending debate. Our Church through our Ministers can take debates head on though as you can even search here in UA-cam. You have not been reading or searching for the latest news then, which traditional media does not want to report. The Iglesia Ni Cristo is now in over 150+ countries in the 6 inhabitable continents of the world with 150+ different races and nationalities as members. And mind you, most of them do get baptized after undergoing 6 months of Bible Study and Worship Service attendance without the motive of converting because of a fiancé or fiancee. Your question is like asking why is it that in the first century, only Jews and Romans were converted to the original Christianity. There are now several Locale Congregations of the Iglesia Ni Cristo - Church Of Christ outside the Philippines that have more non-Filipijnos as members. In India, Japan, and in other countries in Asia, countries in Africa, in Australia, in Italy, Germany, France, U.K. and other countries in Europe, in Mexico, Brazil, and in other countries in LAtin America, etc. Not to mention THOUSANDS of former Catholic Priests, Nuns and Protestant Pastors who left their former religions which they have been members most of their lives for more than 20 years+ and converted to the INC. It is not surprising to see some members of the INC to leave the Iglesia Ni Cristo - Church Of Christ, even the mother and 3 siblings of the current Executive Minister (not Head) of the INC were excommunicated. Going back to the INC takes at least 6 months with no guarantee of being accepted back. That is another proof that this Church is not owned by the Manalo family/clan. Real excommunication only happens in the True Church. Unlike in the many Protestant Denominations like Jimmy Swagart who after being excommunicatedjust went into another Protestant Denomination. What about Jim Bakker and his wife Tammy Faye? What about Billy Grham's grandson who after his sex scandal just started a NEW Church? The doctrines are not the leaders doctrines they are the written words found in the scriptures interpreted by the leadership. However, you should be able to read the scriptures that’s what the word is given for to spread the good news. Where is it written that you have to be a minister to read God’s word? Jesus nor any of the apostles who followed him never said you have to be a minister to read the words of God.
