A profound respect for the artisanal makes craftsmanship the heart of the house of Alexander McQueen and the collection for Spring/Summer 2016 looks to the people of Spitalfields from the late 17th century, the Huguenot migrants who arrived in London as religious refugees. They brought with them their knowledge, skill in weaving and a love of naturalistic floral designs inspired by “The Line of Beauty” philosophy.
There’s a bohemian elegance to the McQueen woman this season as Sarah Burton draws on the roots and myths of English folklore to bring together the mood of the collection. Burton has also been exploring consistently the idea of heirlooms and found objects. Garments too carry history and hence feel precious and the collection has been finished and treated with a tactile hand, so that materials and surfaces feel aged and familiar.

fabulous collection!
integrated, new, creative, edgy feminine and wearable.
So many dreamy ruffles - couldn't get enough. Love the duster jackets as well. Astounding artistry to the whole collection.
Simply beautiful! Sublime. It's soft, wearable and very McQueen.
what i admire about Alexander McQueen is that he's not afraid to express himself, he doesn't care what other people would think about him especially during his time at Givenchy, he took the brand to a different level, he shocked the people from the industry and noone is ready for it. most of people today lack confidence and i admit i'm one of them. i have been a fan of McQueen's work and creativity. i adore sarah's talent as much as mcQueen's but i wonder how different the brand's collections would be if he's still alive.
Racky Rivera if iris van herpen could replace sarah
finally a beautiful soundtrack matching that beautiful collection
This collection is So Beautiful that I am Breathless at 6a m. in Los Angeles, California.
Whether Alexander or Sarah, actually penned the Designs, The "Spirit of McQueen," has enveloped this house, and this showing is 360 degrees of AMAZING.
Oh.... to wear the Sheer Black Dress, dripping in Crystals.
Heaven is Real!
Sarah Burton, I see you went with Alexander soft style. I don't know, but I like this collection.
So many perfect pieces. Love the body jewelry!
Alexander McQueen is simply sublime!

miss you Alex!!
this doesn't live up to alexander's work! he was a genius...
I finally need something bad ass from sarah.
I think Lee / Alexander McQueen would have been very proud of what Sarah Burton has done to the Fashion House that bears his name. She has made the clothes much more feminine and wearable! Mcqueen themes are everywhere in her collections but is reinterpreted in a much prettier and refined way! The clothes do not have the originality and darkness of McQueens mind. There in lies the conundrum! I do not think The Duchess of Cambridge would have worn a Mcqueen wedding designed by him but with the hands of Sarah Burton it becomes much more feminine and dresses women do want to wear! Personally I think Gay Men design women's clothes as innovative art whereas women design more with wearability and for women in business and business acumin ! Welcome to 2016 and thereafter. Mcqueen is dead! He is now history but his memory and inspiration will live on. Such a nice and sweet man and an innovative designer! Rest in peace.
one sensible voice in the crowd.
Well said!
Thank You for saying that! It means a lot to me. Sid Smith is my childhood nick name and alias. Thanks :)
❤
dreamy.
nice
good
I think it's a wonderful collection , but i don't think they should have continued it under the name Alexander McQueen either , he was a whole other level on his own .
you suggest that Dior and Valentino also change their names??
Idiot!
Can anyone tell me what is this beautiful music?
+intofashion nils frahm
+thomas Thank you! It's so beautiful unlike the fashion, which is awful. I would open this video just for the music and do other things along the side of it. :)
Why can't Gay men - Fashion Queens- accept the fact that Alexander McQueen is gone now? Sarah Burton is now at the helm of the house of McQueen and she is creating beautiful clothes, feminine clothes that women want to wear! Not just some Gay man's fantasy for a drag ball! I for one love what Sarah Burton is doing! :)
fully support you on that one!!
but the menswear is really good tho ! come and see

서울이요 오세요 ㅎㅎ 네 네 .
Let us not forget that these designs are NOT ALEXANDER MCQUEEN'S, though it is unfortunately under his name label which is really designed by Sarah Burton and her design crew. Alexander is resting peacefully and though the designs are well...ok.....they are for sure not alexander's designs. She needs to rename the label to sarah burton because she will never be the phenomenal Alexander Mcqueen. Period!
+MrsBrii Rachel did he choosed sarah to replaced him before he die?
I don't think so, they didn't expect his death. From what I remember reading, they chose Sarah cause she was his assistant and had worked close with him.
lets not forget that you...are a nobody..and sure would never be sarah burton nor alexander mcqueen ever. PERIOD
What a sweeping statement to make in public.
If you use the word 'period' in such an arrogant and superior way, you need to be absolutely sure that you have the truth and insight on your side.
Surprise , surprise you have none!
It seems that you also have NO KNOWLEDGE on how a label or fashion house operates!
Do you also suggest the Dior ans Yves St Laurent changes their names to the new in-house designers?
And the last lesson dearest.....not sure that you will grasp it, but try:
This is an OUTSTANDING collection of Burton, and McQueen would have been ecstatic about it. she brought wearable McQueen to the public and connoisseur!
Think twice before making a a complete fool of yourself on a channel like this!
THIS LOOKS LIKE VALENTINO, GIVENCHY AND VERSACE ALL TOGETHER IN A MASHUP AND NOT THE WONDERFUL MCQUEEN STRONG AND INSPIRING MASTERPIECES! A W F U L
That made me sad.
!
sorry sarah but... this time...you missed the target, like...A LOT BADLY!
it also is true for you.

when I first put the video I thought I selected the wrong one, but then I realized it really was an Alexander mcqueen collection. This pieces are so strange... and I really don't see the aesthetic of McQueen's work reflected.
)
That's not McQueen, it's Sarah Burton but it's not McQueen
+Mario Reyes Are you unfamiliar with how this works? McQueen is a brand. She's the creative director of said brand. So yes, it is Sarah Burton -- but it's Alexander McQueen.
+Stephen Sugg obviously if i know about Alexander McQueen i know about how this works but I'm bored, McQueen was a brand than always was innovation and now is the same season after season after season.
Sorry but, Sarah it's not doing a good work. I think than maybe Ricardo Tisci deserves the job more than Sarah.
Mario Reyes
@@stephensugg7463 100% correct......not many that understand that!
McQueen used to be different, innovating, and inspiring. He used to make people think and look twice. I would've left this show with that 1800's nightgown at the beginning. Please watch Plato's Atlantis and tell me you weren't captivated right from the start. Even McQueen's early work was better than this. Tattered rags and then denim? I can find the same at Target and Goodwill.
+Clark Ramos Lee is dead. Obviously the brand is now different, with Sarah as creative director. It's her vision of fashion, her creativity, her work. Lee was great, but we must stop comparing his work to Sarah's. Alexander McQueen is a brand, which will have many creative directors in the future, just like Dior. We don't keep saying "oh lord Christian's designs were so much better, oh lord Galiano's were so much better". The work Sarah does is more delicate, romantic, it can't be compared to Lee's screams against the estatements of fashion. He did that because he was different, he had an awful childhood and clearly that influences youe wision and way of work. Every designer is different :) And no, you can't find any of these at Target
surley then if her stlye is nothing like McQueens then surely she isn't embracing what the brand stands for?
so true. Because Lee owned the house he could pretty much follow who he is as a designer to the point that some of his creations were really just show pieces to showcase his artistry. But for Sarah, it is a brand now, and she should come up with designs that would be functional and wearable. I think what she does is more challenging. i mean how many ways can you reinvent a corset? and it seems so effortless to her to make simple garments interesting. and yes, you wont find these at Target
A real meatmarket
would you wear this? where would you wear this?
How i wish iris van herpen replaced sarah..
no veo reflejado a Alexander mc Queen que decepción
McQueen was all about high heels and being a femme fatale and less about lace and romanticism. Damn do I miss him. I could do a better job capturing his essence.
Why do they have to use such dark surrounding ?
The clothes are beautiful and should be shown in better light.
If I'd paid over 100 to see this show I would feel cheated.
The fun has gone out of fashion shows in the last 10 years,
so we might as well have been watching soldiers on parade.
@Jean Archi....... You don't pay, you're invited. You needn't worry your little head as you'll never be invited.
ten minutes of rags trying to recreate the uniqueness, classic and modern alternation, expresive artistic quality, and fine purity of an era that is already unreachable. People should end it instead of making the good memory trasformed into something forgetable.
Well said.
0% Alexander Mcqueen
+1 👍
Awful work Sarah... The house should close.
+Zaky ArtMusic I actually thought that was what was going to happen when he passed away. As sad as it would be to never have McQueen pieces produced anymore, the house is no longer the same without Lee. The collections we're seeing now and over the past few years don't even come close to capturing the spirit of McQueen at all. Really disappointed to see what has become of his label.
The seating arrangement is stupid and strange. I feel bad for the people that can only see the back of the models.
Very wearable but very lame and boring.
speaking for me, Mcqueen dosnt exist in this colection anymore
