And I won't even start on the stupidity that is letting a clan of Shintoists run the barrier(unless the Hakurei clan are the biggest trolls in existence, it's a bad move to let a group of *virgins* dwindle to just one). I liked the idea of Touhou's lore, but it screams "Newbie Writer" with plotholes, inconsistent tone, lack of focus and excessive need of Suspension of Disbelief, I dislike it because I went deep into it and saw a shallow, poorly slapped on story that is so far up it's own ass it doesn't notice how badly made it is. That I to say, there are a few good things, the characters are memorable if a bit flat and the dialogue in the games is rather well done, though it lacks clarity. So I can say this, ZUN is many things, writer is *not* one of them but if he stays true to his style in games there is a bright future for this series, let the fans(especially Yakumi Sarai) deal with the deeper parts of lore(like how he did in the 5-10 era).
