Never underestimate Israeli capacity to stun its enemies. Don’t forget that Israel defeated 3 Arab countries at the same time during 1967 war. Israel also has benefit of western military, diplomatic and economic backing.
That was in 1967. After 2000 Israel hasn't achieved its targets very much and surrendered to Hezbollah in 2006.
Israel didn’t surrender literally but yeah they did suffer alot at the hands of Hizbollah. Though it should be noted that Hizbollah were acting in guerrilla capacity and not like a conventional international adversary. Confronting guerrillas is tricky and even superpower like USA suffered longterm defeats at their hands in Vietnam and Afghanistan. Israel vs Iran would be a different case though as the Israeli airforce is far superior to Iranian one.
