Rest In Peace Mr Nizam , he showed us what humanity is all about, hospitality to others with a generous heart. An epic video the fact that the monastery was built in that location is a miracle in itself an achievement of building on a grand scale. The Byzantine Church lasted almost 1000 years after the fall of the Roman Empire in Constantinople before that too collapsed under the Arab conquests. The church walls which you see the remains of plaster would’ve had a number of frescos on the walls of what is known as the Byzantine art, the monks would’ve carried out there daily lives of rituals in isolation but as time went on the monks would’ve died and most likely there were no new novice monks to replace them and carry on the tradition and the life of the monastery. The increasing influence of the Islamic faith in the region would’ve also hastened its decline, but the legacy of the Byzantine Church founded by Emperor Constantine still influences the culture of Turkey today. The skulls and human bones are likely the bones of those who had lived and died in the area, the bodies would have been placed in the crypt and left to decay, once the flesh has gone the bones are then gathered up and placed into another part of the crypt where the bones of their ancestors are gathered. Over time they have been disturbed by grave robbers looking for treasure and thus they are as you have found them. I loved the ghost in the doorway 👍

After some years their bones are removed to free up the grave for another corpse, and are deposited in a large room or crypt on Church's Hallowed Ground where they are mixed together. There's nothing sinister or dark about it, not necessarily I mean. Now if you found skulls with bullet holes in them, - that would be a very different story.

A truly amazing adventure, simply brilliant! Everything from the skulls, the mushroom, the camp, etc. made for a wonderful tale. A sad shame it had to end in tragedy. May Mr. Nizam rest in peace.
This is awesome. I visited Turkey in 2010 for 6 weeks. It was a study abroad trip through the university I was attending. Still to this day it is one of my fondest memories. Turkey is beautiful. During those 6 weeks, we travelled all along the western border/coast of Turkey. We started south in Antalya and worked our way up north to Istanbul. I wanted to see the mountains in the east but was overjoyed to see what I did. Ephesus was probably my favorite location to visit, along with Termessos, Troy/Troad and many many other places. The ruins are incredible and Turkey’s history is amazing. Ephesus was known for its magnificent library and it was definitely a sight to see in person. This video brought back great memories! Edit: I wanted to add, the people of Turkey were all incredibly kind to us while we were there. I went into countless shops and each one of them offered warm chai and great conversation, though many times it was through broken English and the minuscule amount of Turkish I had learned. Smiles, handshakes and tea can sometimes be all the words we need. They gave gifts, they told stories, they were proud of their country and were happy to have visitors. They asked questions and were curious of my background and that feeling was mutual. I had many questions for them as well. I met a local artist who gave me two paintings and welcomed me into his shop that he was currently renovating to turn into an art exhibit of sorts. He went by Eyup. I’m having so many memories flood through after watching this video. Really enjoyed it. Keep up the good work. I’m jealous of your travels!
Your videos are absolutely mesmerizing. Well done. I'm 45 and I'll never have a need, or want to leave my little island paradise. Much love and respect for Mr. Nizam ❤Many thanks to him for welcoming Mike to explore your area! So sad to hear of his passing. 💔 He will forever be remembered. One of his last acts was to share his spirit with all of us and that is so beautiful ❤ This was such an Awesome exploration!! I am happy to see you working with the locals in the area. They seem like really great people ❤ and they definitely seem to like you too. What a beautiful country with so much history. It makes me sad we don’t have ancient history in Canada. Everything we are told only start appx 500 years ago. So cool to see a Canadian getting to explore historic sites across the globe. We don’t get to do that at home. It’s almost like there is no exploring allowed here. Definitely not in regards to the history of the indigenous people anyways. Also I believe that fruit is a persimmon.
For some reason I haven’t seen your channel. The algorithm recommended your cartel plane episode… and now I’m hooked! that would make a problem because travel UA-camrs are essentially an influencer for many audiences, which means having to include places they go to can do unintentional damage to the local environment due to tourism

It’s people like you who show people that obstacles aren’t stopping points, they’re learning points. And if I gave up at every obstacle my life would be nothing but misery just because I wanted to avoid a few days or weeks of misery. Thank you for pushing forward and setting an example for humanity.
bro this guy doing national geograpic works by himself. The story telling is very good!
keep the good work!👍🏻👍🏻
Respect goes out to that kind soul!! He was so sweet. May he rip.
Due to Mike Corey, the world gets a chance to get to know Mr Nizam. Thank you for that honor, Mike and thank you for sharing your freedom of life and purity of heart.
What lovely hospitality. Sad to hear he passed away. I am jealous of the adventures you go on, you’re a lucky man!
Great video!
Love your videos man, the kindness of people in other countries is amazing, they welcomed you as if you were one of their own and family. It's beautiful. May Mr.Nizam rest in peace.
Rest in Peace Mr. Nizam, I'm glad you were able to accomplish a life that anyone could be proud of.
This is so beautiful. Rest in peace Mr Nizam ❤️ what a kind soul!
The fruit is called a Persimmon, Cachi or Kaki depends were you live in the Mediterranean. Some years depends on the weather it is soft jelly and very sweet, less rain or none at all crispy like an apple. In my garden there is a ton growing this year due to lots of rain tornado hurrican maltempo end of August and September. A Vancouverite? Take care be safe when sleeping on the ground here, all the best. :) Visitors welcome on my farm in Pisticci Italia. :)
Phenomenal production, giving us viewers the most intimate experience possible without actually being there.
It is very sad, the passing of Mr. Nizam. He was very kind to show you the hospitality that he showed. My condolences to his family and loved ones.
Wow this is wholesome and amazing. You are such a great man trying to discover new things for all of the world . May the great man rest in peace ✌️
This is, far and away, the most fascinating video I have ever seen on UA-cam. Thank you for posting. My deepest condolences to Mr. Nizam and his family.
I just, idk what to say or how to say it, I just love all the stories that unfold on the wonderous adventures you take. I envy the experiences that take place. Man am i blessed and thankful to get to see these things through your videos.
I needed to see something like this, I also love to see what's beyond the classical tourist attractions of a country, I need to dig deeper into the unknown and mystery! Wonderful production, kept me on the edge!
Claudia YES!!!😍
Just when you think humanity is gone crazy i watch another video and nearly end up crying like a baby.
Your blessed to have met such wonderful people.
Keep up the good work.
Much respect for Mr Nizam. He blessed you with gifts of kindness. Let's all go out and share the same gifts.
as a Christian i really do hope they protect those ruins. not only does it help promote peace between religions but it also will up tourism if they can take care of these sites and make them available for tourists to visit.
I pray for the kind man , his family and yourselves. Thank you for this wonder filled adventure.
What an awesome video. You were fortunate to encounter a man such as Mr Nizam and be welcomed by his family. The Earth lost a shining light in his passing, but now his light shines bright in the night sky. May he be at peace for eternity.
Man I am astonished of the kindness seen around the world that never gets portrayed. This Solo event turned into a wealth of insight into the fact that the world is and can be a beautiful place if you can see things from a viewpoint of compassion and grace. Thanks you for this. Many Blessings and Godspeed.
Governments are enemies and stoke hatred. People are just people, no matter where you go it seems.
Much love and respect for Mr. Nizam ❤Many thanks to him for welcoming Mike to explore your area! So sad to hear of his passing. 💔 He will forever be remembered. One of his last acts was to share his spirit with all of us and that is so beautiful ❤
This was such an Awesome exploration!!
Cennet elması diger adı
Everlasting peace to Mr. Nizam 💜
RIP Mr. Nizam .. thank you for helping with a kind heart. Sometimes i hate being an empath. I feel like bursting into tears..
For some reason I haven’t seen your channel. The algorithm recommended your cartel plane episode… and now I’m hooked! You are what the Discovery channel, History channel, and all those should have grown up to be. Not the over-dramatized, never concluding, endless meaningless cliff hangars. Keep doing what you’re doing! I’m here for it! 💪🏻
Post MORE!!🙌🏼
Of course you are here too! Haha, I totally agree!! Missing Mike's content!!
Dude! Mike, your tube channel is so fitting…you’re on a different level of adventures, fearless! I love it! Take care! 🤙🏻
He seemed like a really kind and happy man. Yall were suppose to meet.
Mr Nazam is truly person he must be sorely missed No only by his family but all that knew him.
amazing place! thanks for taking us there. i hope the nizam family continues to take care of the place
I wish travel youtubers would include maps to show where they are in which scene, huge fan of maps :)
Its in the description.
that would make a problem because travel UA-camrs are essentially an influencer for many audiences, which means having to include places they go to can do unintentional damage to the local environment due to tourism
It’s pretty easy to find these locations. This dude still post all his locations.
No single word is good enough to describe you. All the adventures that you did is simply AMAZING!!!!!
As an adventurer and native Michigander, I absolutely love your videos. They are beautiful.
i was smiling the whole time watching this video specially the kindness and hospitality of Mr.Nizam..then at the last part when you said he died😭😭😭
Mr Nzam, was such a good hearted and lovely man I hope he finds the most comfortable place in Heaven Rip
Incredible adventure Mike! What a place. You always meet wonderful people who open up to you. It always makes me feel good and I wasn’t even there. I can only imagine how you feel. What a sad ending. You are a better person for meeting him! 👍👍👍👍
I am speechless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My boy thank you and have a blessed day 🌎🌱🖤 love
Thank you, Mr. Nizam. He brought us all on an adventure. Sweet man. Got me crying over here
Just found this guy on UA-cam. I love his videos and the making of that monastery is absolutely insane. What a once in a lifetime type of experience
I"m at a loss for words, what an amazing place! Sorry about your friends passing tho, it would be hard to enjoy the memory. But if he was as you described, that alone would be a memory to cherish. You are a very lucky person to have the entire experience! Loved the video, thanks!!
This is the first video of yours I've seen, and as soon as it was over I immediately subscribed. Loved it!
And my condolences to Mr. Nizam's family. That was heartbreaking to hear :( Especially to someone who was so selfless and kind.
What an amazing, wonderful adventure and story you have shared. It is also wonderful to meet kind and caring people such as those you have met. To meet those that are so willing to share their generosity of what they have. I really enjoyed your journal and the beauty of this place. Don't think I could have climbed to where you did though, even if I didn't have mobility issues. I would have been to scared to fall. So thanks for taking us there. And thank you to your guides. May the kind gentleman that passed away Rest in Peace. Blessed Be💜💜💜🍀☘🍀☘🍀
Mr. Nizam is a loss not only to his family, but the entire world! For we need more people like this man in the world, more that care for others as much as they would if it was their own family!! Just WOW, SOOOO sad to see a man like him pass, but I can only imagine him in a better place! Shine bright Mr. Nizam, shine bright so that we all may find our way home under your guiding light!
Heart warming how Wonderful this pod cast is . Exstordinary adventure ( so much so I have tears rolling down my cheeks ) I love hospitality, kindness and historical places .
Beautiful Turkey! I went there during lockdown, friendly People and diverse landscape. I hope that you can get a copy of the video to his dear wife perhaps a group of your subscribers can club together for a small battery operated DVD player or small device so his wife can view it, perhaps send to the hide you had, it would be a magnificent gift 💫 Thank you for your video! Great Camping come to Scotland ✌️
What a great story with great people. The only bad thing about the video is it was to short. Thanks for sharing 👍
Turkey is one of my favourite places. Such a variety of landscapes. Really interesting history. Yes the Turkish people are very friendly.
Mr. Nizam seemed like a good and passionate guy. May he had a amazing life.
RIP Mr. Nizam. Thank you for showing us your beautiful part of the world before you left.
What a marvel of engineering and labor to build on those precarious rocks! Can't imagine the dedication to do this. Love this channel!
I've just discovered your channel...loved this video and that incredible mountain place, but so very sad about Mr Nizam, what a beautiful man he seemed to be. And what lovely and kind people his family were. He will I am sure be sadly missed by those who new him. I have subscribed to your channel and look forward to looking at your previous videos as well as future ones. Kind regards from Vicki in South Australia
Thanks for taking us along! For some of us, our bodies can't keep up to travel to places like this, but our eyes can see and our hearts feel with videos such as these.
Mr Nizam seemed like a kind-hearted, truly generous and good man. He reminds me of those mountain men that exist all around the globe, hard working men that made themselves, tamed the land with their hands turned to callus, and save in words yet speak with action and good deeds. Rest in peace, Mr. Nizam.
Wonderful video, thank you! And thanks to Mr. Nizam for taking care of that place and helping you reach the monastery so you could show it and share its story... I'm sure you have fulfilled a dream of Mr. Nizam. Wherever he is, I’m sure he is happy about this. Greetings from the mountains in Argentina.
You literally crossed my mind yesterday..🥺.. I went on your channel to see if you posted now I get this😎🌹..
We speak with thoughts 👽
A big Salute to Mr. Nizam !!!
So cool to know that there are still so many places to explore in this world. Great video ;)
That's nice that the world got to see Mr. Nizam's generosity and kind spirit before he passed. He took care of a lot of people...
So beautiful that sky, that star filled night!! RIP Mr. Nizam.
Hi Mike! Thank you for discovering and promoting this place. If you come to Turkey again, I would like to take you to the ancient city of Mnara in Antalya, where I live. Even though it has an ancient theater with an excellent view, it also has such a sad story.
That's was his best day of his life taking someone up there to the castle
Wow 🤩 this is truly crazy place .
It’s is amazing and interesting video to explore Turkey in different way .
Thanks for sharing with us 🙏
The simplest of people are often the kindest; God bless you, Mr. Nizam; may you rest in peace!
Thank you for sharing mr. Nizams and his familiy respectfull story. Inspiring and humbling indeed to receive heartfull generosity. Someone said: From a single candle, thousands can be lit and the light will never diminish.
Thank you also for sharing your experience of this great adventure
Great video. My favorite part is the amazing scenery. Beautiful.
It's really special there 🐉
Yeah that was mine too. Beautiful country.
That yellow "crunchy" fruit is a persimmon. That is a beautiful, crazy place. I would slip and die trying to get there!
Personally, I think we always leave pieces of ourselves everywhere we go. And in those places we visit that touch us the most deeply, we not only leave pieces of ourselves, but we take with us a piece of the spirits of the people who made those places "places." ❤
Much love from Greece my friend
iam so sorry to hear that this lovely gentleman passed away 🙏🏻🕊️
It would be amazing and humbling to come on one of these adventures with you but you are a busy man and I already know I'm going to use my flight benefits to travel to these amazing places when I get the chance. Thanks so much for your hard work and knowledge about not only these places but the people who call these places home. Your videos show us what it is to be Human and how to show kindness to one another. I ussally dont comment under vids but you have had such a profound impact on my mindset and you have really inspired me.
amazing video as always. I love how there's always something to learn about history and life in each one you put out
