I’ve got the SBDC143/SPB237 myself and I love it. I also have the OEM Willard bracelet for it too, which is nice. Your Doxa is an awesome looking watch too. Thanks for the great video.
I just got one of these. It's a beautiful watch and a superb modern day recreation of the Willard. I too watched Apocalypse Now the day I got the watch 👍 It's replaced my TAG Carrera as my daily 🖖Great review.
After regulation by a local trusted watch-smith my SPB237 runs at or near spot on. I have it on a Uncle Seiko Z199 bracelet. It differs the most from the other Seiko Captain Willard style releases by having a blue lume. The bezel on mine was a bit stiff to rotate, which may be a good thing. The SPB237, on a bracelet, makes for a nice "daily driver".
The more upmarket SLA033 Willard didn’t get the glass right and you don’t get the reflected minute markers. It’s a stunning watch but the reflected minute markers are an important part of the original 6105-8110 look…which the cheaper Willards (like the SPB237) get right. The SPB237 is probably my favourite Willard reissue.
I agree mate! I do like the SLA033 due to its more bulbous case, not a huge fan of the Naomi Uemera edition SLA049 and it's counterpart. I think the SPB237 and the green willard are great additions into the Willard line up and are my favourite as well. Thanks for watching mate!
Nice! The "willard" here I cant get around that the crown is at wrong position. Original has crown position at ~21 minute and this has at ~19 min. It dosent sounds that much but when you see it then it is hard to get it unseen.😂 And that also mess up the "crown gards" width/size. Their propotions is then out of wack..😅
I have the green one on a green rubber strap. This one would look good on a blue rubber strap. I don't like Nato straps because they add height to the watch.
The doxa is built well for the price. My only gripe with it is the sun par lume for the class of watch it is. It's build quality is very good, dial is good, bracelet is good as well. The overall case finishing is almost comparable to an omega.
@@sandsoftime3248 I've heard of doxa has having sub par build quality for the price, so I thought I'd get an opinion. I have a 600t homage and wondered if someday it would be worth investing in the real deal
Great looking Seiko and excellent job on the review. I really like my SPB153 and love the red shovel seconds hand. Well done, Sam!
Thanks Chaz. Enjoy the SPB153! Beautiful watch!
Cushion case watches are my favorite. Nice collection you got there
I have the same watch for one week now. I’m extremely happy. It’s very comfortable and very beautiful on my wrist.

Very nice comprehensive and well thought out review.
I love my 237. Wish the alignment was a bit better than it is.

Thanks for sharing your enthusiasm for this watch. Great video.

Misaligned bezels? No big deal!
Excellent review. One question, how large is your wrist?
I have a 7.1 inch wrist. Thanks for watching
Hey, which Australian dealer did you purchase from? I would like to purchase from the same :)

Seems like you are getting off on this watch mate :D
I hear doxa is not the best made watch but what's your opinion?

Nah, they look ugly and cheap.
