One of the biggest causes of that is anime has significantly more frames where movement is involved, instead of a lot of still frames with talking and cuts to make it seem more exciting. A lot of older anime was filled with that since it was wildly expensive to animate lots of frames.

AMV was amazing, but the thing that caught me off guard was there are a few frames from an episode of Banished from the Hero's party for an episode that, unless I'm doing my math wrong, came out 9 days ago (which is when this video is shown as being uploaded) meaning you would've seen that, and immediately thought "I know where that's going"

DAMN this is impressive; the transitions are really well done, especially for the ones with chroma keying! I also love the added SFX from the clips playing in sync with the music, really nice added detail. [also very based for including genjitsu no yohane at 1:11 :D]
This edit is peak perfection. The sync between the music, the scenes, the sounds from the animes are done so amazingly it's almost intriguing. The music choosen "Everybody" from Backstreet boys makes it more better🔥
Crazy that monomogu has been making AMVs consistently at this level of quality and doesn't even have 15,000 subscribers is a testament to how random UA-cam success is. Between an eye for match cuts that _shouldn't_ work but do anyway and taking the effort to edit objects from one shot into another, these AMVs are always so smooth. It's not seamless, but every seam feels like it has a purpose. Luckily, this AMV got shared on Tumblr, so maybe a few more people will give mono a shot.
It must be hard to decide on balancing which clips of old school anime and the newer shows get used in an under 3 minute amv. And exponentially harder to edit it together in such a fun and entertaining way! Huge props to people like you who have the patience and skill to pull it off!
