WHERE'S the CABLE??? I KNEW IT!!! That was James JAMERSON on Those hits!! If a FCKER could play those basslines and DANCE like they did back in the day, he'd be one of the "GREATEST" bassplayers in HISTORY!! LOL!!!!
@maliVinnyB You don't know ANYTHING about what you're talking about. Literally, not one thing resembles a fact. First off, James Jamerson only played on ONE Jackson 5 song, "Darling Dear", a song I guarantee you've never heard of before I wrote this sentence. This song is so "not a hit" that very few have heard it (even hardcore J5 fans). It's actually one of Jamerson's best bass lines and I would recommend you check it out, but you seem more into making accusations without proof than listening to music. Anyways, strike one for you. Strike Two: In 1975, the Stones were already using prototype wireless units live. Later that year, Ken Schaffer created the first commercially available wireless system for electric guitar and bass. By 1976-77, acts like Kiss, ELO, and a few others were totally wireless. If you look at Kiss footage from that era, Gene Simmons's bass looks exactly like it's not plugged in either, but it was. How do I know that Jermaine is using a wireless here? As a professional bass player and singer myself, I have watched all of the available footage of Jermaine on "Midnight Special" and in my professional opinion, he is most definitely playing and singing live. But, if that's not enough proof for you, try this: It's true that all of the Jacksons made some lip sync TV appearances during their entire career as it is part of the business of promotion (solo Michael as well....."Billie Jean" from "Motown 25" is all lip synced), but if you bothered to do ANY research, you'd know that ALL of the acts on "Midnight Special" had to perform LIVE. No lip sync allowed. Including Jermaine. It was in his contract. And that's Strike Three, my friend....you're out. The one thing you DID get right is your assessment that "if a fcker could play those basslines and DANCE like they did back in the day, he'd be one of the "GREATEST" bassplayers in HISTORY". Well, your wish is my command. Here's that "fcker" doing just that: This is one of SEVERAL Jackson 5 live videos between 1970-1974, when Jermaine was the bass player/co-lead vocalist. This and all of the other live videos feature Jermaine playing live with his "magic" guitar cable plugged into his "Acoustic" half stack or full stack amplifier, which is set in the "on" position. If you are not impressed with young Jermaine's bass/vocal prowess in this and all of the other J5 live clips, you simply do not understand anything about bass guitar or what it takes to play at this level: ua-cam.com/video/wRH_tHk2Mzc/v-deo.html If you need more, there's great footage of Jermaine performing "Let's Get Serious" on Arsenio from 1989, singing lead and playing bass and his bass has a big, old, fat cable plugged into it. These videos are in ample supply and are SO easy to access on UA-cam that I'm surprised you didn't research any of this before you laid your accusations down. Discrediting a talented musician without proof just makes you look jealous. Not an attractive quality. But, now that you've been proven wrong, you've never been more right in stating that Jermaine IS "one of the GREATEST bass players in HISTORY!"
That was kind of weak, there was no funk no groove and you could hardly here his bass So I would say Jermaine Jackson was mediocre at best when it comes to playing the bass

Here's that "fcker" doing just that:
This is one of SEVERAL Jackson 5 live videos between 1970-1974, when Jermaine was the bass player/co-lead vocalist. This and all of the other live videos feature Jermaine playing live with his "magic" guitar cable plugged into his "Acoustic" half stack or full stack amplifier, which is set in the "on" position.
If you are not impressed with young Jermaine's bass/vocal prowess in this and all of the other J5 live clips, you simply do not understand anything about bass guitar or what it takes to play at this level:

If you need more, there's great footage of Jermaine performing "Let's Get Serious" on Arsenio from 1989, singing lead and playing bass and his bass has a big, old, fat cable plugged into it.
@@zachthrone9787 well said Zach You dropped the mic on that fool !
@@zachthrone9787 You said everything I was gonna say. This guy has his head up his ass.
Please go back under your bridge.
Umm Bootsy Collins did Just that...so did Larry Graham
Yall know Jermaine ain't really nooo serious bass player 😅😅😅..whatever😅😅
That was kind of weak, there was no funk no groove and you could hardly here his bass
So I would say Jermaine Jackson was mediocre at best when it comes to playing the bass
LOL ok
Santabaraca, or whatever you name is, you couldn't play your way out of a wet paper bag with holes at both ends! A keyboard player could play better!
