Mountain and Cream were my inspirations to play bass.I'm still playing their music in bands.Just listen and u can see why. These new rock bands can't compare.Long live Leslie!!! One of the top players of all time.
One of the most enigmatic songs ever written! The filling riffs on the original are sublime as they are powerful..This is the singular song that turned me on to Mountain in circa 1970 and the brilliance of Mr.West...the staccato movements in the original bad-ass subtle!
Me too! I was 16 years old, 1971. First job, Long hair, patched jeans and about to take on the world. My brother came home with this album and said... Listen to this! I'm now 64, still here and I'm STILL listening to it!! Peace from Ayrshire Scotland☮️
I was lucky enough to see this line up about 11 or 12 years ago at a surprisingly small gig in Surrey england. Could't quite work it out as the venue did;'t and doesn't host gigs at all really. Anyway was privileged to watch this line up. leslie had bad flue and I was lucky or unlucky to be close enough to catch his sneezes! He still played great though. Ritchie Scarlet was fantastic, but best of all was Corky. I have never heard such powerful drumming. And at one point he invited this ten year old kid up on stage to play drums with him, so ticked all the nice guy boxes on that count. It is a gig the band will probably want to forget, but one i will remember fondly for life. Cheers guys!
One of my favorite bands to see live. Of course, I'm old school. You always know you are going to get rocked at a Mountain concert. Leslie perseveres. Corky shows why he has earned his reputation as a solid rock drummer. And Richie Scarlett has made a career of playing bass for various rock acts. "The Emperor of Rock and Roll". Been around.
Mountain is remembered for "Mississippi Queen" due to the Guitar Heroes game but, when you get down to it, This is their Masterpiece! It is a complete piece of music, not just a wild Boogie!
Yes. I agree ! Well some other songs to. His first album . Anyway, he is in my heart. "Probably", there is already a big fan club dedicated to him. Else, I would start one ! ua-cam.com/video/qswXvlTlC2Y/v-deo.html
That's Corky Lang on drums... this must be a Mountain gig! There isn't anyone that has the tone of Leslie West. He mastery of feedback set the std back in the day. Sad Jack has left us... a West, Bruce, & Lang reunion would have been wonderful. They will all play together again someday...
My brother Mark saw them and if I recall correctly he was floor like in the 5th or 6th row. He said it was the loudest concert he ever saw. Louder Than Zepplin, The Who or Pink Floyd. The music was bouncing off his chest...
I missed the first led zepplin concert. It was 10 a ticket and I thought that was too high. But i saw mountain . Second row 3 seat over from center. Denver .Then they played for free at Buckingham park in the Mountains the next day. Great !
The rest of the surf' community and I had a house in Cocoa Beach that summer; it was going to be a jumping off point for a trip to the west coast. We had already been to Atlanta Pop', and we were surfing our brains out in-between shows. When we heard about this Woodstock show, I was still up for the west coast, but a few wanted to do the show. Of course, we were all BIG on the music. So I go out west, and they go to Woodstock, and at the end of it all I asked them, ; "so, how was the show and who stood out?" Almost in unison, they say, Mountain! Well, I saw Mountain a lot after that! The interaction on stage between the 3 main components, West, Laing, and Pappalardi was as vivid as the music itself. West could have this icy, focused stare at one point, be staring at Felix, then explode into a chord and walk to the other side of the stage while your ears were still ringing. You just knew he wasn't the kind of Long Island, New York accented guy you wanted to mess with. He was real BIG, and real shiny! That's how a - guitarist - is supposed to look and sound.
This Song and Imaginary Western are My Favorite 🤩 Mountain Songs a former girlfriend’s brother stole my Twin Peaks Mountain’ 🏔 🏔 Album 💿 when I met him in Tampa Florida in 1981 along with my Meet the Beatles and Revolver and My Brand new Arc Welder and the same scumbag used me to cheat on his wife saying he was hooking me up with her, same night tells me to do his wife soon after she had their new born child and 20 years later his child died Karma then five years ago his sister asked me to marry her. I told her not over my Dead ☠️ Body
I was at the Knebworth fayre 1985 awesome except meatloaf Weekend world was never the same again. Deep Purple rocked Scorpions exceptable in a monsoon but Mountain took it to level 11. Gerry Flood where are you
Whatever effects he's using on that guitar sound like crap, the words "distorted plastic" come to mind. Where's the awesome solo? Slowly playing the chords over and over is just a tease. I love Mountain but this ain't it. Corky quit playing with Les because Leslie couldn't or wouldn't play the songs the way they were written. No disrespect to Leslie but maybe the fire has gone out. Without Felix's distorted bass sound it just doesn't sound like Mountain.
2nd time in 2 days I've watched this. This Mother Rocks.

Great Story, song & Band needed to hear this before my week in Nantucket.. 💜

I haven't seen the sheet music but I think the time signature changes a few times

Leslie is The Warrior . . . . . nothing else to say

Leslie was a master of well some kind of guitar

His friend was able to catch a drum stick thrown by the drummer Corkey Lang at that same show. I think it was in 76.
Wow...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now thats what the fuck I am talking about!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gregory Peck and Ray Bradbury brought me here.

I guess I just don't get it
Trumppppppppppp 2020
Idiot
Trump go to hell
No one can copy Felix Pappalardi's voice. Not even Leslie. Nice try, though.
This is not a try. He's doing it. It's his to sing.

Sounds good to me, wish I could rock like that
Odd. He always appears to be having a blast
