It's not just Democrats that are feeling optimistic. I am an Independent and would've voted for Biden, but definitely feel uplifted with Harris/Walz. Most of us have had to build our lives and experienced struggles. At 65 years old, I feel many want instant gratification. Education, time, hard work, setting goals and patience do pay off.

My assessment is that Trump always moves toward whatever is the most potent political lever for success and takes his belief system along with it, cranking it for all it's worth. It's not just Democrats that are feeling optimistic. I am an Independent and would've voted for Biden, but definitely feel uplifted with Harris/Walz. Most of us have had to build our lives and experienced struggles. At 65 years old, I feel many want instant gratification. Education, time, hard work, setting goals and patience do pay off.

You raise a great point. People tend to forget a large influence on the economy is confidence. So when Trump is always saying "the American dream is dead" and negatively misrepresenting the state of the economy, it actually weakens the economy because people believe it and get worried and spend less or, in the case of business, hire less.

That's a good observation. My assessment is that Trump always moves toward whatever is the most potent political lever for success and takes his belief system along with it, cranking it for all it's worth. In short, it's impossible to pin down his beliefs/priorities because they're always shifting. It depends on the biggest, most attentive audience and what they want. Just my opinion.

He never said what he'd do for our healthcare policy. His healthcare rhetoric was all about repealing the ACA, and he *said* he had a better plan, and never explained that plan. People voted for him, anyway. After 4 years in office he didn't repeal the ACA or show us that awesome plan he'd been talking about, and most of the same people will vote for him again.
He said he had a plan to get our troops out of Afghanistan and Iraq, and as we got closer to the election he said he was going to lock a bunch of Generals in a room until they came up with a plan. So, he really gave away that he didn't have a plan. And people voted for him, anyway.
3 years later his administration was negotiating with the Taliban (without the duly elected Afghan government in the room), set a date for a troop withdrawal, and set up the troops for failure. The same dummies that voted Donald in were glad to eat up the propaganda that blamed the Biden administration.
I guess what I'm saying is, don't count on Donald's supporters to understand what he is or *isn't* saying.
