I loved watching Red Green. The best show EVER.
This show was pure gold.
A lot of the writing improved in later seasons but these quiet little character segments early on were some of my favorites.
I know that the comedy behind this is all about the way Dougie nonchalantly tells the story, but who wouldn't want to _see_ everything he described happen on-camera? It sounds awesome!

It was a man's program. Whole premise of the show. "I am a man. But I can change. If I have to. -I guess...." Funny it was shot in Canada. Feminism is a lot stronger there than the US. (Had people who lived both places tell me that.) Noticed it first hand when I visited there.

Dougie is played by Ian Thomas the singer/songwriter, he is as funny as his brother Dave Thomas.
I've been watching Red and the bunch for 25 years now. Red's kind of like that crazy uncle you never wanted and I'm that same kind of man. Keep your stick on the ice!

You know what makes the character Red Green? His lodge has some of the goofiest characters you ever will see...nerds, felons, gun crazed lunatics, and on and on...and he literally lives like “meh, you do you, welcome to the lodge”

Yeah I've seen them all together In the parking lots outside them fancy private country club, golf courses. Just like on them nature films showing wildlife at an African watering hole. They do like to congregate.

He's the great singer/songwriter, Ian Thomas. Check out "Painted Ladies" 1973.

Great Great show he is the best we are laughing so so hard and all of his friends and the whole cast and behind the scenes we love red green and the N.H.L. hockey great great Canadian hockey players retired and active .

He's Ian Thomas, the younger brother of Dave Thomas (of "SCTV"). Ian's a singer-songwriter, whose biggest hit was "Horse With No Name".
