My only really complaint is the suggestion of the Breitling super ocean 42 rather than the Breitling SO Heritage. Not only is it a better looking watch, but it in fact has a Tudor/Rolex movement rather than the eta that is in the standard super ocean. I own the beautiful green dial one and it is a real treat!
ETA is probably the most important company in all of watchmaking history. Basically every movement being made today is standing on the shoulders of ETA in one way or another, using technology that they pioneered.
@@Jake-bt3fc I agree, and for smaller companies making more affordable watches that is fine and I don’t knock them. My point in saying the SO heritage is better is because it is in fact a better movement with better materials and a much longer power reserve as well as better finishing. If you are gonna pay $5000 for a watch it is not unreasonable to want better than the same movement you can get in a 1000 watch.

Blaming Rolex for the Rolex bubble is like blaming a builder for a housing bubble.
The thing is you probably want a Rolex for the same reason you want a Lamborghini, because it's a Rolex or because it's a Lamborghini, not for anything it can outright do because you know it can all be done better for less.
You might even be happier with a decent fake Rolex than you would with any other watch because you want that name and the kudos it brings above anything else.
Some will think you're shallow, and not a real watch enthusiast, and only want it for the attention and they may have a point, but hey, so what?
Definitely Christopher Ward is the stand out for me .
And their Trident pro is a great dive watch. i have two & wear one of them most of the time, my submariner stays in its box!
There is no alternative - history in cinema, exclusivity, timeless design, quality, value retention
True!
"exclusivity" Yeah, because being treated like shit and jumping through hoops for the "privilege" of buying a watch is _so great_ XD
Also, you can just buy grey market and completely negate all of the AD "exclusivity" anyways.
Hold your horses and don't cream your shorts. It's a watch, not a holy divine object.
Rolex is Rolex … period
Would if you could.
Yep that’s what all those are, simply alternatives.. I’ll keep my sub thank you..
This video hurt! I can only afford the cheapest alternatives. I will read the comments for other alternatives.
I really can't stand how every video title has to mention Rolex, and they keep on downplaying it too. Yeah, Rolex does get a lot of attention, but don't you think it's a bit excessive to always do it like that?
This is what you get when a bubble bursts. A lot of bad decisions made by people thinking a Rolex is a lifesaver or that it completes you.
This video feels like it was made to be cut up into shorts. The minimal discussion of each watch and repeating the premise for each Rolex model really makes me think it's way to double dip on content. Just make a bunch of shorts and mash them into one video for the people who don't like shorts, then a few days later post the individual shorts.
There's so many watch better than Rolex, they didn't have something special other than pricing.
A Patek is easier to get than a Rolex? What is wrong with Rolex?
steinhart?
