SOS…SOS , I am having a hell pf a time trying to get mine working. I use a Mac Book about 10 years old running Catalina. From the internet I downloaded Cubic software and it started up nicely. My problem is all I can receive is spectral noise and see no pips. It also wont switch to AM mode, its stuck in FM, stations show up on the range bar , but no audio signals are detected. I am at my wits end with this Chinese crap. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Just set up my RTL-SDR following your instructions today and it was quick and painless. Thank you! Only difference for me is that it didn't even attempt to install the incorrect driver at first. It didn't install any driver. The process in zadig was about the same, only difference is the button says "install driver" instead of "replace driver"
Nice step by step instructions. Was having some problems with "Device not loaded" error. Followed other people's advice online with no luck. Found your video and BOOM I was up and running. Thanks!

Great video. Thank You. I went to Airspy and this is what it said about the drivers. Is this an update? "Airspy is a plug-and-play device and does not require any particular driver installation on Windows Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 and 10. You just plug Airspy and Windows will download and install the right driver for you."
Fourth visit to the video while I set it up bit by bit but all working. Thanks for this great video. Had problems with the control panel as somehow I managed to delete them but back now.
Great fun. Thanks for the video. I currently live in an apartment where I can't set up my HF gear because of proximity to others, though I can run my 160m - 70cm QRP rig. It's nice to have a multi-band receiver right in my primary computer. I've got it on mostly 2m & public service bands & sometimes AM aircraft (I'm under the landing pattern for a major international airport). Again, thanks for the critical info on setting up the correct driver for the RTL-SDR. - 73 de N2NZ
Great informative video. Just ordered my RTL today. This is exactly what I was looking for as a cheaper alternative to a scanner for my shack. Could you possibly post a future video of your antenna setup for this? Thanks for the video. New Sub
Glad you liked the video and thanks for the sub! I use a bunch of different antennas depending on that I want to listen to, most of the time I use a roll up j-pole for 2m / 70cm. 👍

Thanks very much for this, I was trying to instal one of these and was having problems with the driver on Windows10. Your video put me right and I was soon up and running, Thank-you.
Please can I ask you or any of your viewers, does your dongle run quite warm to almost hot? Is this normal? Thanks, Ace
Glad it was helpful Ace. Yes, that dongle will get quite toasty.
@@TheSmokinApe Thanks for the reply, I was beginning to worry that the heat wasn't normal. My unit is a genuine one but it's a bit of a sloppy fit in the USB socket. I did wonder if this was causing the heating but you have reassured me, thanks.

@@TheSmokinApe Must be all that bias T keeping them warm! Cheers and best 73.
