Agree. Less is more, especially in flags. Flags aren't an artboard, they are meant sybolize a certain idea or curture. They have to be recognizable, even from a distance or waving. This works the best with a minimalistic design. Japan is really simple, but easy to regognize, iconic and represents the japanese culture very well in a minimalistic way.
Your designs are great, but the majority of these flags are good and the redesigns add too much complexity. And a seal in the middle is not easily replicable or recognisable at a distance. It's definitely a fun thought experiment tho. I'd love to see you redesign some of the world flags that are literally just seals on a background into something more simplistic, might be fun to work in the opposite direction

Some flags for a part 2: Belize 🇧🇿 A golden rule of vexilogy is to keep the flag so simple that a child can draw it easily, there is simply too much going on in the Belize flag. Australia🇦🇺and New Zealand🇳🇿Both of them have been independent countries for years, it simply doesn’t make sense that they have the flag of their colonial overlord in their flag and both countries have let their citizens make their own flags which were way better than the current ones. For 🇻🇮 is the U.S. virgin islands, a U.S. territory. For 🇾🇹 is mayotte because if you look closer at the flag, you will see text that says "MAYOTTE", and it's a French territory. And for 🇬🇵 is Guadeloupe. And it's another French territory.

Belize 🇧🇿 A golden rule of vexilogy is to keep the flag so simple that a child can draw it easily, there is simply too much going on in the Belize flag.
Australia🇦🇺and New Zealand🇳🇿Both of them have been independent countries for years, it simply doesn’t make sense that they have the flag of their colonial overlord in their flag and both countries have let their citizens make their own flags which were way better than the current ones.
Mozambique🇲🇿I feel like there’s something wrong here it could be the stripes or the AK47 but I don’t know.
British Indian Ocean Territory 🇮🇴This flag just looks horrible, there is no need for a palm tree on a wavy background and the flag could’ve been way better if they did in a striped style.
Haiti🇭🇹When you think it’s a PNG but it’s actually a JPEG.

Uganda🇺🇬 Black. Yellow. Red. Black. Yellow. Red. It’s bad enough that Germany and Belgium went with that colour combination, but at least they didn’t do it twice. Uganda’s flag ends up looking like everything your grandma bought at a Tupperware party in the 1970s with a Nando's logo stuck on it.
Maldives🇲🇻 The flag of the Maldives has the same problem that the flag of Haiti has, it looks like somebody stuck an image onto a background that was probably meant for somewhere else, and then hoisted it up a flagpole. Only the Maldives decided against having some colours that go well together and just went with red and green.
Bhutan🇧🇹 Look at that dragon, now imagine trying to draw that as a 10-year-old alone in your room because nobody wants to play with the weird flag boy. It’s impossible to make it look any good, it’s far too complicated to be on a flag. And the same goes for you, Wales🏴.
