Joe Biden Is a terrible Rapper! EMINEM is a legend. Melle was a Great Rapper but he is already beyond infamous. But Melle Mel has to adjust to EMs style and it's reverse Racism
What's crazy to me is that Eminem always respects the hip-hop culture his Hall Fame speech he spoke about the influence of the culture and how it's impacted his life. It's time to grow up and give this man his RESPECT
I was thinking the same thing. Eminem has so much respect for Hip Hop and veteran Hip Hop artists. It's a shame that no matter how skilled he is or how many thanks he gives, he will continue to be shaded because he's a white guy in a black dominated field. Like him or not, he's a great lyricist.
It really isn't that big of a deal. The media just feeds on this. In every culture we have a few old heads and couple younger ignorant folks who will be stuck in the past and revert to ignorance. Idek why we bothered by what a few think of Em when the majority of the hip hop faternity knows whats up.
To an extent I agree with this but imma be real, you guys bring a lot of that hate too him. Em fans literally do not shut up about how incredible he is then list off all these things he does that show why, and all of those things are things black artists have been doing since before he even started rapping. Yall prop him up so high that yall claim the GOAT list is just em with a bullet and no one comes close which is genuinely absurd. I don't think most em fans listen to rap, they just listen to em and his crew and like NF and shit.

I mean if u don’t like Eminem it’s ok, but u have to give the man his credits and to what his done to hip hop culture. Im from middle east and its freakin crazy how Eminem is well known here.
look i dont like some of eminems new stuff and i dont like people blindly dickriding eminem, i do think he lost some of his magic and i would not consider him in my top 2 3 maybe but to say that eminem is not nice or he is not in top 5 what ? HE IS definitely in top 5 of all time u gotta give the man some credit when eminem came out he was crazy...and it was worldwide, i've never seen a rapper having a bigger debut than eminem ever! and that is an achievement in itself
Freddy jason That chris o'dea joke was truth, eminem occassionally goes off topic to make his rhymes schemes rhyme from behinnijg, internal and end if each bar. Theres multiple rappers out there that can easily rhymes beginning to end, the difference is they do it without going off topic, so no he is not lyrically better thaN everbody else lol
@@freddyjason3142 if he was black you wouldn't listen, I dont know any blacks(who arent from the inner city or considered a complete lame that listen to him in their cars
Eminem has shown nothing but respect towards hip hop culture, You honestly cannot hate this man because he's humble and stays out the way, he doesn't fuck with anyone unless someone fucks with him, and most of all, he's fuckin' talented
@@princeparish5001 Have you read the endless threads of comments from white Eminem fans? Seriously? I’m well versed in Stanisms because I’ve been battling them for years. They are merciless. Eminem is the goat! He’s lyrically the best. He sold more records than everyone in hip hop he even has the most subscribers on UA-cam than all your fav rappers. He can also freestyle great. He came up battle rapping his story is the best he’s just the best period. Make a chart of what makes a rapper the best Eminem checks all boxes
The Marshall Mathers LP is a classic album. He put his crew on and made them get deals he didn't take from the culture he always gave back to the culture.
I don't even think that was a good album. Em has been on a few good tracks like "Guilty Conscience" but he was no better than Dre on it. Most people don't even understand what it really means to give back to the culture, Em increases the culture amongst White people but that is not giving back to the culture neither is mentioning a few of the legends for credibility clout. He has the ability to rap but is vastly overhyped and his content has no substance.
I'm from the Philippines still here, when I was young back in the early 2000's my uncle introduced me to Eminem. I loved listening to him ever since, and lil Wayne too. Those two we're my favorite childhood rappers. They are well known here, snoop dogg as well.
What sucks is Eminem more than likely holds him in the highest regard! He did mention him in his hall of fame speech, saying he was one of the many rappers that raised him into the beast he is.
It bothers me when older rappers criticize eminem because he has so much reverence for the rappers who came before him. He admires them like superheroes. Listen to his rock n roll hall of fame speech where he just spoke the names of other hip hop artists. He didn't talk about himself really. I hope his feelings aren't hurt. He will never speak out against his heroes.
Oh wow a speech. no features or lettings them open up for him. But hell eminem dont even let his own artist open up for him. Theres a reason the highest selling rapper of time ain't the richest.
The Marshall mathers lp was the first rap cd I ever loved. Played it for a year straight. To disrespect this man because of his race is beyond ignorant. Not just his own career, but the respect he put back on Dre’s name, plus 50 cent.
It was the second for me, but only because the slim shady lp was the first. I think I was maybe 8 or 9 when that came out, but I didn’t have a copy until I was about 10 or 11, I think. I was in 7th grade when the Marshall mothers lp came out. Good memories.
He definitely earned his spot. He definitely has kept it a buck. Give him his flowers. He spits more for us than some of our so called own. His talent can't be denied. Respect ✊🏼
This whole thing of hip hop saying they can't disagree with a legend is BS, you're a man first and not a child anymore, you have opinions of your own. Same thing as a legend dissing a younger artist, they can fire back because you're a person first and disrespect is just that no matter where it comes from
@@dynamitecorleone I have to agree with Fat Joe there because he isn’t the only one guilty of that. It’s interesting he brought that up because I never heard anyone ever bring attention to that. A lot of people will go so far to defend someone they like and they’ll go as far as sweeping the truth under the rug. Might be the pressure of being “right”- even tho it’s opinion-based A lot of peoples opinions especially today rely on the verification of other people. That for sure happens in Hip-Hop i’ve seen tons of bias like that and not only pertaining to the credit of Eminem.
@@NoMoneyAfterTipping I agree with Melle Mel but I also believe everyone is titled to their own opinion and viewpoints. Ppl tend to mix up facts with opinions. That's Melle Mel's opinion and others should be able to say how they feel about his opinion while stating theirs and or facts 🤷🏾♂️. As simple as that. Using the words Worship and Icon when referring to a man that bleeds like you and breathes the same air as you is suspect if you ask me, in my head that means you'll bow down, hey but that's just me 🤷🏾♂️
@@dynamitecorleone People are entitled there opinions of course but Eminem being 1 of the greatest is a fact not an opinion. He was talking about the Billboard top 50, In there criteria alone Em should be even higher than 5. I don't know how you can have such a long career, Sell more records than any other hip hop artist, still put out music that does huge numbers and only be #5. It doesn't matter if you like him or not he is what he is.
Talent doesn't come From the color or your skin. It takes devotion, hard work, dedication, and Em is a true genius. Period. Some people treat Hip Hopmusic like its a Gang or a group where there's a Leader and only Red and Blue and black colors are the only dress code.
It happens all the time. When someone is too good, too talented and too successful, first everyone admires them, then they get hated on bc of jealousy. It happened to MJ as well around the Bad album era. People got tired and jealous of the seemingly perfect artist and started trying to take him down.
It's like people who envy his success try to diminish and provoke him, to feed off of the controversy. As if they want to be mentioned in his next disstrack to validate them as being in relevant
Maybe a man who admitted to sleeping in the bed with a series of unrelated prepubescent boys isn’t the best example of a “perfect” artist. He had more than his fair share of very valid criticisms. And this is only judging him on the things he’s admitted to himself, not even based on allegations.
@@dewilew2137 well, I did write "seemingly perfect" and I'm talking about the Bad era which was years before any allegations ever came out. People started to make up lies and crazy rumors based on nothing precisely because after Thriller and Bad, people started to get jealous + people love a good "falling out" story. I'm not in any way saying he was perfect, just that many lies were told about him. And, although he did say that when children fell asleep in his bed, he didn't remove them out wake them up and just slept next to them (which is a valid behavior to criticize, of course) the FBI never found a single thing to corroborate any of the allegations made against MJ, he was cleared during his trial and the allegations made during the Leaving Neverland "documentary" were debunked. I'm not saying "I know it never happened" but nothing I've heard up until today tells me it did.
@Y K Sounds like somebody who hasn't been listening with an open ear. But, fair enough. Maybe you weren't feeling the beats. No disrespect, I'll never forget how Meth said, "the dumb are mostly intrigued by the drum." The lyrics themselves are King bro.
I give much respect to Eminem..his music has changed the Game..not just here but International as well...another thing is that he has given opportunities to other artists in different genres as well...
This is what the culture is about. We all respect the IGa, but call out the haters. It sucks to grow up admiring people and find out they hate/disrespect/mock you for trying to add to said culture
Everyone gets forgotten except a few and Eminem will always be in someones mouth whether it's bad or good. He is that guy is the goat he can't be touched
I don't even listen to much rap but as a linguist, how can I not acknowledge and respect his skills?? He is a craftsman. Nothing cheap or easy in his product. Every syllable on point. I appreciate they brought up how many have tried to leave their mark, but no one has stuck around like Marshall. 🤙
Guy, that average rapper as you call him, has possibly the best rap song ever recorded, ‘the message’ real hip-hop heads know this. Nothing in Em&Em’s catalog can top that song. Melle Mel is 1 of the pioneers.
@@yo3rdtier128 OK, but that wasn't the point. The point is he should acknowledge or at least respect his skills even if he doesn't like his music, instead he says he's only good cause he's white which is very stupid.
@@yo3rdtier128 Not really. i've heard the message and there's plenty better songs: NYSOM/It Ain't Hard to Tell, Mural, Sing About Me I'm Dying of Thirst, Many Men, Stan/Sing for the Moment, Put It On, Rapp snitch knishes, 6ft 7ft, + dozens more
You can like or dislike whomever you want, but at least the respect is due. And what's funny to me is that, Eminem is still so huge in a rap game, that people (especially rappers) can't stop talking about him, that's how great he is.
I am black doesn't matter but this got me teary cuz i love hiphop and Eminem is def in top 5 for sure idgaf bout race or ethnicity is bout are you LYRICAL, the impact and legacy etc. I am happy the real hiphop heads, fans and actual lyricist Mc's fights back at this behavior even if it is a "pioneer" everybody can still be wrong. glad they was calling them out when they are wrong. BIG PUN and Big L would Rap circles around him lyrically around Melle Mel don't even get me started. I would even argue that Eminem pays More homage to his roots than anybody the ones that was there before him doing real hiphop the Og's,MC's, he has payed more homage to the real more than everybody ever in Hiphop imo the "Hall Of Fame" speech alone and his verse on "Yah Yah" proves my point, featuring Black thought, Royce 5'9 and of course Q-Tip from the legendary hiphop group " A tribe called Quest" which is also in RockNroll hall of fame i believe.
I respect Eminem. He's a great rapper. He's one of my top favorite artists who helped me to appreciate rap, and today, I still want to hear any new song he drops. The last thing I like about Eminem is that he respects black people and appreciates African American culture with his actions and what he says.
That’s all he can do though. Which is why the older rappers speak the way they do. Nothing wrong with that but it must always be noted & never forgotten.
He was ok when he came out was all about fun, he dropped off a long time ago. A great absolutely NOT but comparing him to the garbage that has emerged recently will warp your judgement.
'Till he collapses, he's spitting these raps long as you feel 'em, till the day that he drop, you'd never say that his not killing 'em. And when he's not, then he'd stop sending them, then he's not hip-hop, and he's just not eminem. Fire 🔥
Like a lot have mentioned, he's not for everyone, love him or hate him, you can't deny his insane writing ability, hard work, dedication to his craft, the body of work he's made, the contributions he's made to his City, his peers, and the ones around him. He's got 11 studio albums, 2 compilation albums and 1 ep, plus numerus cameos/guest spot features on tracks ranging from Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Kayne West, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, DMX, Busta Rhymes, 50 cent, Logic, Bruno Mars etc. Considering the caliber of people he's worked with that could of just said no or picked someone else, instead they asked for him says a lot. Aside from albums, his movie 8 mile got him an Oscar and a Grammy, he introduced entire generations of kids to freestyle Rap, Rap battles, and the lyrical skill needed to win. In my opinion, if Eminem was black, he would of been the next 2pac. His journey in music could of actually been easier for him if he was black. He wouldn't of had to work as hard/prove himself that he belongs there, because he would of blended in rather then sticking out.
Deluded, it is easier for him because he is White. He is accepted by Black people because he has the backing of Dr Dre and is automatically accepted by White fans of rap music because he is one of their own, people who would never support Black rappers are eager to support Eminem because he is White. That is not to say that he can't rap but Eminem himself states he wouldn't have the sales figures he does if he wasn't White, you clearly don't understand White privilege. Making out he would be the next 2Pac is a joke, Tupac is a far greater rapper but Tupac is loved because he was a revolutionary and you felt it in his music Eminem is nowhere near those levels and 2Pac isn't even the GOAT. Once you are accepted in certain circles everyone in those circles is open to make music with you plus the fact that black rappers who make music with Eminem increase the chances of their music being brought by White people who would not normally buy their music, that is a significant increase in sales. The raps in 8 Mile were written for him not by him. I don't like him because I don't feel the content he raps about. The fact that White people try to claim he is the best rapper ever when he clearly isn't makes me dislike him even more though.
No, def. not the next Tupac. If anything, if Em were black he’d be Crooked I. I don’t disagree that Em works hard & is one of the best when it comes to rhyming words & being lyrically creative. But if a black artist was putting out the exact same songs, beats & content, they would be seen as corny & juvenile, and probably never make it out the underground circuit. Keep it a buck: Would “I” be an international superstar & be seen as the GOAT if I put out Music To Be Murdered By? Probably not. I would be placed somewhere between a Canibus & a Tech N9ne.
@@Messiah_Black Your hypothetical doesn't make sense, because if you put out the exact same songs as someone else, they're not your songs lol. I get what you're saying though. An artist that comes to mind immediately is Hopsin. Here's the thing though; It's not white people holding back black rappers, it's black people holding back black rappers. White people don't look at other people listening to Em or Hopsin and go ''He corny. He's a white people rapper.'' You know who do say shit like that? Black people. Anyway, in Hopsin's case, he made it out of the underground circuit. He may not be as big as Em, but it's not for lack of talent or skill, it's because people discount him. Melle Mel here saying Eminem is only in the top because he's white; But I bet money that if Melle Mel has heard some of Hopsin's songs, he'd still say something like ''Why he tryna sound like Em for? He sound corny'' or some bs like that.
@@Kushien I think your missing the point. There’s plenty of rappers who’s styles are similar to Eminem’s, yet haven’t had the same crossover, mainstream success or international popularity. So if the “style” is the thing that everyone claims their gravitating to, then why is this not the “standard” where all we see are “super lyrical” artists blowing up? Why are Hopsin & Joyner Lucas not international icons? Why is Crooked I not selling millions of units every time he drops a project? Why isn’t Royce brought up in GOAT conversations? Black People are pretty consistent if you ask me. If you look at who we see as “GOATS” it’s all the same type of artist: Biggie, Jay, Nas, Pac, Rakim… Smooth, charismatic, lyrical but not too “wordy,” raps about street life & issues w/in the black community. It’s not like we omit Em, but overwhelmingly support the Hopsins & Joyner Lucas’s of rap. We don’t really rock w/ them either. So it’s not as much of a “race” thing as most Stan’s think. If Em fans top 5 consisted of Em, Redman, Royce, Crooked I, & Busta Rhymes then you could make the argument that it’s just that stye that’s appealing to them. But y’all got Pac, Nas, & Big in y’all’s Top 5 too…
@@Messiah_Black You're ignoring a lot of factors and acting as though people only blow up for ''one single reason'', here you're saying it's ''supposedly'' his style, but you're really saying it's his skin color. For one, Eminem came up during a time where there weren't many White rappers. (They existed yes, but not very common, and they were definitely not at Em's skill level.) Also, not everyone had the backing of Dr Dre, having someone like that who's already well-established in the industry goes a LONG way. ''Why are Hopsin & Joyner Lucas not international icons?'' Well, define international icons. They both have fans internationally. Anyway, you completely ignored what I said. ''Why doesnt this person have the same record sales'' BECAUSE BLACK AMERICA AIN'T BUYING THE ALBUMS. ''Black People are pretty consistent if you ask me.'' Yeah, and here you see them in the video defending Em as a GOAT. But you're ignoring that and acting like no black people ever can put Em in their top 5. When you get down to it, it's really just y'all being racist. Saying ''Em is only in the top charts because he's white'' is the equivalent of me saying ''Lebron James is only one of the richest NBA players because he's black''. ''It’s not like we omit Em, but overwhelmingly support the Hopsins & Joyner Lucas’s of rap.'' But you're literally omitting Em by saying he doesn't deserve his success because of his skin color, and that Hopsin and Joyner do, because of their skin color. The world does not revolve around your skin color. ''We don’t really rock w/ them either. So it’s not as much of a “race” thing as most Stan’s think.'' It is, you're just to ignorant to realize the reason why those black artists aren't successful is precisely because black people don't ''really rock w/ them.'' You want Hopsin and Joyner in the top charts? Go buy all their albums, all their singles, itunes, merchandise, etc. Tell all your friends to do the same. No? Then stfu with your racist bullshit lmao.

Look beyond the beats, gimmicks, race and look at the lyrics only. Look at how Eminem constructs his rhymes, look at his different flows, his speed, his delivery, his vocabulary. There has never been a better rapper, he's on another planet it's not even close.
Mele Mell is a joke for that bs. Nobody should be hesitant to tell him, he isn't right. Rap aside. You're a man first. You have every right to tell a man, no matter how old they are, if they're wrong or right. Respect goes both ways. You being born before me doesn't mean you have the right to talk down or disrespect me. It just mean you were born first. No one is in control of when they are born. Stop using that as an excuse. Mel can't touch Em, and anyone with half of a brain knows that. It's time to start normalizing putting any man of any age, feet to the fire. It's no different with sports. A white man created basketball and football. It is no secret that both sports have been dominated by black people throughout history. MJ, a black man, is the goat of basketball. Do you mean to tell me we're going to dismiss that, because he's black? Imagine saying "Oh, well the only reason MJ is considered the goat is because he's black. Do you know the outrage black people would spew out, if a white man said that to us? It's very hypocritical. Rap and Hip Hop, was created by black people. So now i find it funny that these sour mofos, are mad that a white man, who has always been respectful to the culture, is better than the ones who created it. It's so freaking mind-boggling. I'm a proud black man and I really am sick and tired of mfs using the race card, for every little thing. Judge a man by his actions, character, and talent, not skin color. Eminem is a top 5 rapper clearly no matter the race , skin color , creed it doesn’t matter. The man is using the English language to his benefit. His wordplay is phenomenal. He clearly is the goat.
I’m going to address the elephant 🐘 in the room. Eminem for years had to force himself to adapt as a MC. The biggest handicap to a lot of rappers is the N word. Slim adapt himself to utilizing other words to form his rhythms, once it became a habit, he can do it with ease. Most rappers can not with using the N word. Too many rely on it too much in every song just to make a song. So Slim followed the rules of what he is aloud to do and he’s benefiting from that. Plus Eminem can rap about topics that other rapper can not, because it maybe be frowned upon. Look at his advantages and disadvantages then you will understand why he is high up there as a rapper.
What topic can he rhyme about that others can not? i would think it's more likely the other way around, i really haven't listened to his music after his Marshell Mathers LP so i have no clue about what he raps but i did hear a lot of hate towards him over the years and people calling him a guest so i can imagine there's many topics some people would claim he has no right to speak on.

Melle mell was (is) a legend and he was almost (is) idolized by alot of the older hip-hop fans. For many it was the only way, the only chance of getting out of the projects having money getting your family to a better place essentially. As far as I'm concerned, Melly Mel didn't get personal approval from Pac's mom to produce his first posthumous album. That says a lot, especially because of the fact that Pac's mom was a Black Panther member. That single event alone tells you everything you need to know
+Skythunder Sky I personally don’t even agree with posthumous albums. Unless the artist made it entirely known that they wanted those records released. I feel like the artists legacy should be on their terms. Not the fans, not the families.
@@whatsthedirt I mean maybe, but it's more about his mom giving Em (a white man obv) personal approval to go ahead and produce the album. There's a clip on UA-cam where Obie is on stage and says "everyone wanna believe PAC is dead but he's alive and he got braids now and he's living in Cuba." I even found a German magazine article where Obie was interviewed and he said he was flown to Cuba to record the Hennessey song and when he got to the studio he bugged out when he saw Tupac in the flesh. He said PAC had put on some weight and also had braids.
@@skythundersky1544 you the type of person to deny and dismiss stuff without even looking into it first. I should've expected that from someone who just plays video games all day.
Eminem changed the hip hop game forever. You can hate it or love it but that's a personal taste thing, but you can deny his legacy, that's why I love Em, the way he is and his music.
Eminem is dope af as an artist and lyricist if you can’t understand that and give dude his props no matter if you bump his shit or not then you’re either butt hurt bitter in denial or your understanding of hip hop as a art form is seriously skewed and you shouldn’t speak on it. @@Drucipher6996 Yeah, I'm black from Detroit, and I put EM over Wayne, but that's my music taste. I'm into listening to artists who are giving my ears a challenge, and that's what Eminem's music does to me when he goes in lyrically. The thing about the majority of EM haters is always a race issue and ignoring his skills, like Eminem said on, Role Model.
Poeple are mis-understanding this whole thing. Rap is stem from competitiveness anyway, there's nothing wrong with these discussions. There are people who feel Jay-Z or Pac or Big are number 1, and I can debate them on why I think Nas is number 1. Music touches us differently.
Don't you ever in your life put Jay z before biggie and pac in any sentence. Who the actually fuck picks him number 1 over biggie and pac? Or Nas for that matter 😂
I love em, but he wouldn't be where he is in his career if he wasn't white. A large part of what motivated him to get better, perfect his skills was because of his race and circumstances. Now, saying that he is considered top, only because he is white, is an oversimplification. And saying he benefited from white privilege is just wrong. But being backed into a corner, people not believing him and hate fuels this man till this day. That is why he makes his best albums angry and when his back is against the wall. Being white is who he is, and that shouldn't be a discredit to him
Now that is a point I can agree with. It just like a female mechanic. Nowhere does it say that a woman can't repair your car just as good as a man could, but that's just how things are, so she's gotta put 150% into it just to be acknowledged
It's embarrassing that a lot of our black and brown members of the culture can't see that we have a "hands-off" policy with Eminem that wouldn't exist if he was black. If Eminem was a black rapper sounding like that and rapping about what he was rapping about, people would be overlooking him, talkin about how nice he wasn't,, and talking about how corny and nerdy he was. Without that Interscope backing and Dr.Dre stamp, people would not exalt him like that, they would be going for his neck.
I gotta disagree bro cuz what everybody is speaking to in this video is his very skill..u can be chinese black or arab if u rap like that you must be acknowledged
The fact that 2Pac's mom gave him personal approval to produce Pac's first posthumous album and be featured on it says a lot, especially cuz his mom was a life long Black Panther member and activist. That alone should tell you everything you need to know about Em's validity within the culture
He's among the greats indeed, I love his energy, flow and the insanely well composed lyrics to fit his style. Unique like 2PAC but of course very different. Talent, skill and passion shines its own colors, it's art. If any of that 8 mile stuff is even loosely based in history he earned his place in the scene well before selling millions of albums. Having a legend deny him that saying it's thanks to his skin just makes me wonder if he's ever really seen or heard Em.

Mel and anyone else disrespecting that man, need to have 3 seats and stfu. He couldn't compete with Em and win, if he wrote his best battle rap.

Pretty epic quote to summarize all of this
Till I Collapse "I probably will never get the respect I deserve"
