Goddamn kestins voice acting is just “chefs kiss” it’s amazing how well he voiced zane and the dragon hat to with how he voiced garroth both were excellent in this scene
Ok but like rewatching the fight scene actually brought me to tears. These scenes were so well done and I literally screamed when KC yelled Zane after Garroth had yeeted him. Season 6 was the most overwhelming season ever and the way that Zane brings Garroth back followed by the flashbacks just kills me!! 🥺🥺😫😫
Can we acknowledge that Zane did everything he could to protect Kc. And that he didn't want to fight garroth. He hesitated every time he needed to defend himself. And even after being thrown out a window he still called garroth after him to protect kc, even though he knew he couldn't fight garroth. He was willing to die to save her, and willing to let garroth kill him to avoid hurting his big brother. This is the same little chicken nugget that took over the shadow knights in highschool, ruined Christmas, couldn't stand his family, and refused to become friends with anyone except aph. He was terrified of relationships and relished in others misery. His self confidence was almost a complete zero and yet fast forward and he's willing to give his life for the girl he found more annoying and childish than anything a few years ago. He was concerned about Lucinda who is not someone he was ever close to. And he took off his mask in front of his brother. His brother who he hated because of how much he was stuck in the shadows from garroth. His brother the source of all his insecurities, and yet he took off his mask, showing how willingly vulnerable he was. Like Zane. Zane is the very definition of how to show character growth.

This scene epitomizes Zane's arc, I feel. He's gone from the Hot Topic emo edgelord loner to a man who will get thrown out a gosh darn window and take a fudgebucket sword through his arm to protect the people in his life. That's character growth.
