I am Chinese living in Canada. The Indian friends I know they are all vegetarians. They looks big actually they are not strong and not aggressive, so I think the diets habits effect the performance.

Her team and herself did not anticipate how much effort it would take to drop her below 50 KG. India is not ready for hosting the Olympics because the country does not have an international sporting culture beyond Asia. Before that, more Indians need more basic needs met, which translates to more leisure time and the facilities for that time. Those facilities require programs with knowledgeable staff. And if Indians want to be the best, then they will have to train with the best en masse. For example, some swimmers train in California or Florida. Winter athletes spend their time in Europe.

In addition Vinesh fought her own Hungarian coach and nutritionist to the competition and the Indian support team had very little input in what was going on until the last minute until it was to late. During the Tokyo Olympics she refused to house or train with the Indian team. 99% of the blame should be assigned to Vinesh and her coach.

It’s always all talk or excuse after excuse. If you want to do well the government or private sector must contribute to nurturing those athletes. More women athletes need to be represented in sports I will agree with that. Just look at countries like China , the women contributed almost the same medals as the men if not more.
