I visited Tomonoura Town a few years ago in summer. It's a 25 min. bus ride from Fukuyama station. For the Japanese, it is also the site of Ponyo anime film. I loved this quiet port town! After strolling through the streets I took a ferry to an island just 10 minutes away, found a beach and took a refreshing bath. There is a shop where you can change, leave your belongings and take a shower. After all, Tomonoura is a perfect day trip in summer. I quite like this type of city, Which is not too big and not too small but has a nice life. I saw there were many traditional houses still standing. Most of the stone is Granite. It is probably the oldest building stone at about 500,000,000 years old. Yes it was really formed half a billion years ago. Yet it looks pristine in almost all locations of this video. It is a lovely stone though hard to work. Hand working and splitting it like this preserves the mica and crystals and give it a magical quality. It sparkles sunlight and is warm to touch. The gold colour comes from iron inclusions and surface deposits causing discoloration especially in a marine environment. Yo ucan see a clear difference between it and the modern machine sawn pieces or the concrete. The long lengths on the bridges, Shinto Shrines and steps here are a testament to the crafts people who spent many hours carefully splitting and working them and then transporting and fixing them in place without breaking. That on its own is breath taking let alone the wonderful proportions and edifices they made. It would steal your eye away from the traditional grey roof tiles. They are made of clay but include a very precise mix of carbon from charcoal. They reflect the suns heat and can withstand severe frost, salty air, high temperatures as well as excessive weight. these tiles (at least the older ones) can last about a thousand years. Traditional Japanese tilers fit each tile by shape to its precise position on the roof trimming them with millimetre accuracy. It is a slow difficult and tedious job but a prefect balance to the granite stone and native wood used to construct these nail and bolt free buildings. If I spent a whole day just running my hands over or feasting my eyes on just one or two single pieces of stone, tile or timber in this port it would be but a passing nod to the work that went into it. Everything you see, every wall, house, garden, harbour, shrine, step, every tile on every roof, each ridge every curve on every face, every pole or beam or sash or post are all laid such that they can flex slip a little and tighten in an earthquake. Unlike our buildings, streets and harbours which weaken over time or movement, these all improve. Most of this place is stronger now then when it was built.

I have always wanted to visit Hiroshima, to see and honor the memory of the innocent civilians who perished due to the atomic bomb, but this is a completely different side of Hiroshima I had never imagined or seen in photographs. Looking at the state of the sea, the Seto Inland Sea is a large inland sea. The ocean current is fast but there are no waves. The tourist boat does not shake either. The catch of fish is also large. The weather is mild with little rainfall.

アメリカ在住で、今はコロナの影響で春も夏もきっと年末まで、もしかしたら来年まで帰国できず、すごく悲しく落ち込んでいました。しかしAnnaさんのチャンネルを先月見つけて、日本の美しく懐かしい風景とリラックスできる音楽を毎日楽しませてもらってます。

私は鞆の浦で保育園と小学校時代を過しました。今はもう20歳過ぎましたが。
昔は誰も知らない町で、鞆の浦中を自転車で遊びに回ってたけど、だんだん観光地になってきて少し寂しいです🥺 でも、有名になって来たからこそ、本当にいい町なんだなって思えました！

今日は、鞆の浦の散策です。実は、若い頃広島で17年も過ごしたのですが、知りませんでした。（泣）
見るからに歴史を感じさせる街並みですが、良く手入れされ石畳の道が風情を感じさせます。
そして、画面は瀬戸内海。海の開放感と美しさに嬉しくなりました。街の造りとして日本にしては「石」が多用されていると感じました。
江戸時代と現在が混在するような、不思議な感覚になりました。(笑)

福山市鞆の浦は港湾の施設が当時のまま現存している貴重な町並みですが、動画で見ると思った以上に良い町並みだったので思わず嬉しくなりました。
古い町並みもよく残っているし、場所によっては昭和の面影も感じられたのでいろんな時代の雰囲気を楽しめました。
鞆の浦はいつか撮影に行きたいと思っていたので、この動画を参考にできて本当に良かったです。
広島県には他に竹原地区と御手洗の魅力的な重伝建地区がありますがアンナさんが撮影した動画で是非見てみたいですね。

自分の生まれ故郷でもないのに、とても懐かしく心落ち着く静かな町。国内で大好きな場所の一つで何度も足を運んでいます。お寺がとても多く、お寺の隣にお寺、そしてまたお寺。坂本竜馬が潜伏していた家もあり、朝鮮からの通信使たちの迎賓館として利用された「對潮楼（たいちょうろう）」から見る仙酔島は、まるで額縁を通してみる絵画で「日東第一形勝」と称されています。仙酔島にある国民宿舎は現在の令和天皇が学生時代、卒論を書くために宿泊していたとも聞いています。また行きたい。動画のアップありがとうございます。

I have always wanted to visit Hiroshima, to see and honor the memory of the innocent civilians who perished due to the atomic bomb, but this is a completely different side of Hiroshima I had never imagined or seen in photographs. It’s beautiful as all your other videos are as well. Thank you for sharing

Looking at the state of the sea, the Seto Inland Sea is a large inland sea.
The ocean current is fast but there are no waves. The tourist boat does not shake either.
The catch of fish is also large. The weather is mild with little rainfall.

I would love to live in a little village like that.
鞆の浦には、二度ほど行ったことがあります。一度は友人に連れられて、二度目は一人で行きました。あまりにも快い景色がたくさんあったので、一人で堪能しに行きました。小さな古家を買って、好きな人と暮らせたらいいなって思います。あの細い道を歩き、小さな坂道を上り、小さな商店で買い物をして、鞆の海を眺める。きっと心のササクレもなくなってしまうような気がします。保命酒のお店も雰囲気いいですよね。私は、お酒が飲めないので２０倍くらいに薄めて氷を入れて飲みます。そうすると平気です。

Your videos console me and are a sort of present life offer us who love Japan and feel this is our country (no matter we'd be always foreigners, it's a sense of intimacy and belonging beyond frontiers). Oh my, what a little treasure chest of visual delights this is. You had me at being so close to the ocean, yet with little side streets and short cuts within the town, or city.....then up into the hill sides, with marvelous views of where you had just had us... This demands several viewings, thank goodness this is what my life needs. Trying to pack and move across country, when perhaps this scenery is calling me louder. This song often plays at leaving school time and before the department store closes.

I knew about playing the song as a class graduates and leaves school, but the department store closing? that is unusual.... but for many when the shopping is over, it is indeed a sad time. They also play it here as the "old year" comes to a close on December 31st, and the "New Year" begins a midnight. I look forward to the Abuto Kannon, and I see there is a new video right now, that needs my attention..... life with Anna Film, is indeed wonderful. :-) :-) :-)

日本の古い町並み、木造であることや地震国家であることで欧州と比べるとどうしても残りにくいですが、よくここまで残ってくれた、という印象です。いつまでも残ってほしい、そんな景色ですね。

Another great 👍 video & music 🎼 combo with the scenery and ocean 🌊 view even great 👍 footage of the boat 🚣♀️ passing by the small island and on top of hill shot with the boats and water on a nice sunny ☀️ day. You need to come back and do it in a clear night. Place’s in Japan 🇯🇵 on my wish list to move to one day Amori Prefecture Sado Island and here be a 3rd not a big city fan.
