In all my life I've never seen an Indonesian MD pair having a defense of that quality. It's absolutely insane how they were able to get so many kill shots back, especially from Rankireddy/Shetty. Fikri's defensive play really reminds of Lee Yong Dae. Rankireddy/Shetty did everything right in their attacking game but Fikri/Maulana ended up having the slight edge in the end. Really an intense match, well played from both pairs.

You never see the previous shetty/ranki encounter with bagas/maulana then, similarly Pramudya/Yeremia encounter with them, probably the first younger indonesian pairs to win against them. Generally: The best defense is of Leo/Daniel but they have the weakest and predictable attack relying on Daniel. Leo is accomplished front court player, but still generally weaker from the back. Pramudya and Yeremia is more all-rounded with good defense and offense and rotational, but its not overpowering. Ofc yeremia is still somewhat dealing with his acl injury. Bagas/Maulana has the strongest offense with sharp and hard smashed from both players but generally the weakest defense. But if they can improve their defense as well then they can dominate like in All England. Then the key of beating Shetty/Ranki is having good defense to frustate them, but you also need to counterattack them and take your chances.
@@abcddef2112 I've watched most of the encounters between ranki/shetty and the Indonesian pairs. I like your analysis on each pair, but I think I still have to give the best defense to fikri/maulana. I just think that theirs is more constructive. But that's just my opinion though.

I agree with you it's just a waste of time and delaying the match. And about "the court was not well maintained" I think that's not the case here if it's really not well maintained then Indonesian pairs will feel it too and they'll complain about it, but as we can see they don't have any problem with that so I think it's not the court that has the problem and proof that the court was fine.
i agree this time that maulana had alot compare to fikri. but both have their own time in every match. hope that they can contend themselves and eliminate the enforce error like during the 2nd games
