    Good video Prof.
How can we determine the location of the center of resistance while the tooth are tied together ?

Good question! If you tied the teeth together you have made a segment, this segment has its own center of resistance under two conditions:
      1. The teeth can not move individually ( for example the wire is strong enough and your method of tying is good enough to prevent any individual movement in all dimensions)
      2. Segment is not connected to other segments. This design is called Free-object design. If your segment is connected to other segments, you have a semi-restricted design, where movement can be predicted based on couple/force ratio and not the center of resistance. We will talk about these concepts in future videos.
Scientifically, the best approach is computer modeling. Which it has its own limitation. But Clinically if you have one segment that acts as a Free -object, you can estimate the possible center of resistance based on the trial and error approach it means that you can apply a force based on what you think would be the possible location of the center of resistance and predict the movement and in next visit see how much your prediction was correct and adjust your force accordingly. The density of the bone around the segment that is moving is constantly changing which may affect the center of resistance. Therefore you may need to constantly adjust your force.
      Hope this helps!
