Both of the time when you guys came to Korea was cold. May is nice, but no cherry blossom. Also if interested, some cherry blossoms in Jeju Island is of a unique endangered Korean variety , & not the common Japanese variety you see in the mainland.

Wow - just seen your vlog! Must have overlapped as I was in SK 22nd March -3rd April. Went to that Coffee Bean Outlet in Myeongdong (5:32) frequently and I recognised all the locations in Busan too. Wasn't so lucky with the blossom - must hear been to the wrong locations. Great to see it all again a week later - many thanks! 👍🌸🇰🇷

With that the rice at 7:30 it’s called 솥밥 (Sot Bab) in Korea, unlike the normal rice, the Sot Bab will be always provided with (1) a side empty plate and (2) a pot of hot water.
How to eat this traditional Sot Bab (= Bowl Rice) in a proper Korean way? (1) Use a spoon to scrub all soft rice into the empty side plate. (2) Leave the hard bottom layer of rice that is sticked to the Hot bowl (the Sot). (3) Use the hot pot water to pour into the bowl about 50% full (Sot) and put the lid back on and leave it for a while. (4) Enjoy your meal first with the soft rice on your place first. (5) When you finish your meal, open the lid of the bowl (Sot), enjoy the rice soup like drinking a tea after a meal (you will see some of the hard and sticky part of the rice will be now easily detached and soften up).
Why we do this? Apparently, it helps the digestion and cleanses your mouth and stomach from food and oils and etc. So apparently it’s a healthy way to finish the meal. Just like drinking a green tea or Oolong tea after meal in Japan and China. 😅 Try this next time :)
Oh and plus, when you see a whole bunch of green leaves in a basket served on your table like that = means it’s 쌈밥 (Ssam Bab) restaurant. Which means you were meant to use the leaves to make your own wrap. You can make the wrap by (1) grab a leave (2) add rice, meat, and any side dishes you like to put in (3) add some sauce (normally Saam Jang sauce - that is Orange and Brownish bean paste sauce). (4) Wrap and eat! 🎉
