We explored the area about 3 years ago. Found horses in the middle of the afternoon not far into the housing area. Caught a branch and scratched my truck a little on it. I love having that battle scar for the memories! The kids love it. I hope you've gone to Hatteras Island around Cape Point too.
We did the same thing back last March for my little girl's birthday. She LOVED it... so did the wife and son. We cam across a large herd and just sat there and watched them for a good 30min. I would not mind living back there some day. Would be a major trip just to get groceries... however, if I were there long enough I would have a massive garden and lots of fruit every year.
Typically you will find them around the Wash Woods area, starting a few rows back Hot Spots: Grave Diggers House (yup, the Monster Truck guy) you can't miss it - bright green just after Carova Beach Park Carova Beach Park Next to and across the street from the Fire Station Two babies were born last April. Rosie, and I forget the others name. We saw them both this past October. They look really healthy and well. If you want to read something really interesting, find the article on how the horses survive through the hurricanes. Pretty cool.
Good info, thanks! Spending even the little bit of time that we did out there made me wish we could stay longer term to experience that area the way you are now. I'm jealous!
Hey man... looks like it’s been a while since either of us have posted some content! I don’t know about you, but I think it’s time we change that! My wife and I recently moved to Asheville, and we’ll be hitting the trails soon! Any chance you’ll be back at it soon? Your vids have always been extremely helpful in getting a good idea of what’s around certain places!
This is the most recent video I could find on your page, which is why I'm asking this question here... I just bought a 4 wheeler and I'm wondering if you could direct me to some information on trails in NC that aren't the usual suspects like National Forest trails or off-road parks. I live in the Triangle and I'm not averse to having a few hours drive to get there. Thanks brother! Looking forward to more content from you!
@@mountainstoseaoverland9855 In the summer, they are always on the beach. In winter, they tend to go toward the west side of the island, but it seems like you found plenty grazing in yards. If it were really cold, they would probably be in the dense wooded areas to be out of the wind. Visit sometime when it snows here.
Hah, that's great! Those humvees are so cool... I would do a tour just to get to ride in one. Though as you can see from the rest of my channel, a lot of what I enjoy is exploring on my own and figuring stuff out. But y'all make the experience accessible for those who don't have 4wd, and that's fantastic!
Mountains to Sea Overland stay out if swan beach neighborhood. Those people are real jack bags. None of em are local, but they hate anyone coming into that neighborhood. If you dont want to live in a tourist area, carry your ass on back up to Pittsburgh or wherever your from. I’m installing 2 300 db train horns in my tour truck, just for the locals in swan beach this summer. How bout that for a good morning swan beach?! 😂
If you look closely at one of my videos of corolla.Theres a horse on the sand dune to the left.It ran behind the jeep for awhile.I have a picture of it coming down the hill behind me on my Instagram.warrenmcnair50.

We moved here 3 years ago from Ohio and LOVE it. We drive the beaches from Corova to Ocracoke weekly.
Awesome! That's one of my favorite things about the outer banks
We will be living seasonally in Carova by this upcoming Fall.
@@mountainstoseaoverland9855 please upload again, it's been 9 months since your last vid. what's going on?
We need more videos you inspire a lot of people

I wish you were still doing videos.
Very cool seeing the wild horses.
Yeah we were surprised at how easy it was to find them in the evening
Awesome videos... glad I found you. From Asheville NC
Welcome, thanks for following!

We love Corolla, drive there about every two weeks during season
Tastefully done. Nice job.
In winter, you often find the horses on the west side of the island closer to the sound.
Good info, thanks!

Thanks for the tips! I am looking forward to returning, and now I have an even better idea of where to find them. Your local knowledge is appreciated!
Awesome channel guys.
Thanks! It's been a lot of fun sharing our adventures. Thanks for following!
You passed me in the humvee tour truck.

Did you ever upload the battery mod video?
Just north to the fire department. There’s always some around there
You're right, that's actually where we saw a bunch, and also over by where the little park and boat launch is located.

Great
What happened to this channel? It's been a few years.
hopefully everything is ok , i haven’t hear anything from you
Nice!
Thanks, I like your channel!
Much appreciated. The footage of the drone following the family car is a great idea!
@@westernhorsewatchers Thanks that was fun footage to capture, with my wife driving and myself flying the drone from the passenger seat :)
Awesome. Does the drone send real-time images to your console so you can see what it's filming?
yeah, as I'm flying I am seeing what it sees on the phone screen that's attached to the controller. So I can guide it to get a nice smooth shot.

Very cool! When we were there I didn't see any on the beach, but we were looking out for them. I'm looking forward to going back
I know this guy!
Yes you do! ;)
