Very much this. I've checked out several other streamers after watching the stream with Arnold and learned that quite a lot of people either didn't care for it or even disliked/were very disappointed with the stream and potentially the patch. While I understand that we should keep our standards high in the face of a billions-dollar company - being hyped for content and lore like Arnold is just seems like such a better way to approach the situation.

people keep begging for something that won't happen. genshin isn't a game where there's some hardcore endgame to grind. its main focus will always be on the exploration, the story, and the characters. people who can't accept that should just stop playing and complaining.
Arnold is simply one of many Genshin youtubers besides Ashikai made me excited for the next patch. They genuinely cares for the lore, music and even the little things like the seelie event. He doesn't care if the upcoming characters are good or not. I'm glad I've found this channel. Unlike a certain someone, yeah we get it boo hoo no end game content buh bla buh bla. Hey man, I'm subscribing you rn , because of how appreciative and positive you are to Genshin. Also on how you don't take everything for granted. There are so much salty and negative streamers right now just because they burnout and have other game to be milk content off. FINAL LAST MINUTE REALIZATION! There is actual story reason for the Abyss not being active in Liyue and Inazuma. Liyue was protected by strongest Archon Rex Lapis and the Adepti. Meanwhile Inazuma was an isolated islan protected by yokai and the Raiden Shogun. By comparison, Mondstadt was easier to target. And it looks like the same is true for Sumeru, not only is Kusanali the youngest Archon, she's not even being allowed to really rule. sure there are the Eredites, but it does not seem like they are actually allied to Sumeru government and thus not a real threat.

The the Lector in the chasm was the one using technology and Enjou was looking for knowledge. Perfect for Sumeru. Heck, I kind of now hope that the Abyss members actually talk about the death of the previous Archon, maybe even boasting about it or (really stretching worh high hopes here) show mint some physical proof.

Now looking back on how some youtubers reacted, you had the best reaction by far imo. They looked so annoyed with no reason at all. If they expected some more "contents" whatsoever they probably just need to touch some grass OR pay more attention to the lore itself, so that they get the idea why this update made us the lore lovers got hyped so much

Arnold doing justice in term of reaction for lore enthusiasm. I only watch him and Ashikai nowdays. I am a casual player that love story and exploration, already in endgame too, but I personally not wishing anymore endgame content 😅 Spiral abyss and daily grinding are enough. Since Genshin revolve around lore, they scatter so many lore pieces even in the flavor text item. It might be not much for people who don't look into it, but if we get more endgame content, I feel like it'll be overwhelming for lore/casual player like me (just like this 2.8 GAA event).
@@TiliaceusMemo I would reccommend BranOnline for you too! He may not be the biggest enthusiast of lore that reads the artifacts and weapons but he genuinely enjoys it and was hyped for the stream as well! He even watched some Ashikai lore videos in the past because he was really interested :)

I don't blame him for that, but I wish he and other content creators could comment on parts of the game that ARE good, like the lore, environments, character writing, music etc instead of just focusing entirely on how shitty everything related to combat is. Like, duh? Combat isn't the main point of the game and if you call genshin a bad game just because the only part you're interested in isn't done well then you're just downright incorrect
@@Schinak that's what I heard too. I don't know if I'd go so far as to say it was born out of spite and envy, but it was definitely made to compete with genshin. To me it seems to lack passion and artistic value from the limited stuff I've seen, but I can't really say my opinion doesn't come from a biased place. After all, I HAVE spent almost 2k hours on genshin. There's just something so perfect about genshin's setting in my opinion that I just haven't seen anywhere else. Botw was too devoid of life. Honkai impact is too futuristic. I absolutely adore the world of genshin in all its historical fantasy glory with just the slightest touch of technology from a few nations + the extremely pleasing environments and character designs. And let's not even begin to talk about the lore. Nothing will ever top genshin impact for me (even if it has its faults)

I'm not that good of understanding of Genshin lore by myself (have a bit of Dyslexia), watching you react and explains what happened and where the info came from made me realized how much story and teases that completely went over my head lol It's a pretty fun ride watching you react, explaining what happened, and speculate what happened. The negativity is probably related to those who refuse to read subtitles, and are EN dub loyalists. Or it could also be related to the technical problems on Twitch which is why Hoyoverse should STOP doing their new version livestreams on Twitch and do it here on UA-cam. The JP livestream here on YT did not have the same issues.

I love geeking out about lore with others and this trailer made me so hyped, ESPECIALLY WITH THE IRMINSUL LORE! I was going insane in your stream (and Ashikai’s too), I hope Sumeru lives up to the hype!!! Also, a lowkey theory of mine is that the voice at the very end is Rhukkadevata (from the past) and that she’s asking the world/Irminsul to forget her. And considering what we know of the Irminsul tree, that line holds a lot of meaning if it’s true.

Hi. I really love to watch Genshin content creators like you that genuinely love the game for what it is. True, the game is not perfect, its end game content is shit as of now and criticizing it sometimes is undestandable but at the end of the day, we all love the game, its characters and lore and we just want to see some improvement. Im so sick of some well known content creators that constantly bashing the game, make a content out of it and spreads negativity and toxicity but still playing the game. Standard Banner finally changes after 1-2 years, kinda sad that zhongli and tighnari will come on the same phase. As a F2P player i will have a hard time picking which one i should pull for.

I regret watching the live stream update through another streamer and not through you. You really hype me up with the story and lores that went over my head while another streamer just waiting for something to drop and not focusing on storytelling that the hoyoverse staff prepared and birngs out the negative vibes
Judging from what has been said during the livestream by the developers and what we saw in the Trailer, it seems like she is more of a prisoner than a ruler. Basically she is forced to be a ruling figure but the Akademiya despises her because she is a 'lesser' version of their previous Archon and the Sages rule in her stead.

I feel like dottore would burn the tree that is connected to the dendro archon so they can get the gnosis since the archon’s consciousness is rooted from the tree and we can somehow see everything fading away like the akademiya or some kind of building not sure and nahida saying the world forget me or something

Maybe Dottore burned the tree and that caused a huge shockwave in the timeline because he's essentially destroying something that is deeply connected to teyvat and that's destroying sumeru and everyone in it.
also the fact that the akadmiya whisked the new archon up just as she was born tells a lot, and the fact that you can't do a lot in the actual city since the akademiya has put on so many limitations

Every archon makes an effort to keep their people ignorant to the truth, the truth of what was before the gods, if they don't they will end up like khaenri'ah or enkonomiya. The whole trailer just had a different vibes simply because it had a letterbox effect over it. It felt so intense and would probably change the vibe of the narrative since it’s the middle point
I just started entering Sumeru but the real deal is that Sumeru Archon Quest is so complex to compared from the past three regions. Basically you need to read word by word for you to understand what's happening 😅
Since dori heals, I think her healing scale with her hp so my lv 90 bell finally can be use on someone (I see the passive and max it for noelle back then when I was young and naive)
Fun fact : The tree of irminsul is the leyline tree (connected to the leylines and can very much be known as the world tree in some aspects) hence why the dendro archon is known as the God of wisdom as the leylines record everything. And it has been theorised that dainsleif is the guardian of the irminsul tree
Arnold! I had a thought! what if the reason for there being so few Dendro characters is connected to the suppression of Kusanali! While the Vision Hunt Decree was relatively recent, who knows how long the Akademiya has been mistreating Kusanli keeping her from doing her duties as an Archon!

Really good video! Also, reason for the 5 weeks instead of 6 weeks on those 3 patches is to make up for the delay caused by 2.6 with Ayaka, as it puts them off their initial roadmap. From what I've seen, I can not wait to explore Sumeru to the fullest

The negativity is probably related to those who refuse to read subtitles, and are EN dub loyalists. Or it could also be related to the technical problems on Twitch which is why Hoyoverse should STOP doing their new version livestreams on Twitch and do it here on UA-cam. The JP livestream here on YT did not have the same issues.

Hi. I really love to watch Genshin content creators like you that genuinely love the game for what it is. True, the game is not perfect, its end game content is shit as of now and criticizing it sometimes is undestandable but at the end of the day, we all love the game, its characters and lore and we just want to see some improvement. Im so sick of some well known content creators that constantly bashing the game, make a content out of it and spreads negativity and toxicity but still playing the game. Judging from what has been said during the livestream by the developers and what we saw in the Trailer, it seems like she is more of a prisoner than a ruler. Basically she is forced to be a ruling figure but the Akademiya despises her because she is a 'lesser' version of their previous Archon and the Sages rule in her stead.
I have a horrible feeling we might lose Kusanali after knowing her... Is it just me? I feel like Sumeru's archon quest is going to be dark

I know many of your fans have said this but you're honestly one of my favorite GI streamer/CC, you balance out the hype and your love for the game and is not blindly praising it, also pointing out the bad things you see in the game that you feel needs improvement in a calm and informative manner unlike most "popular" ones that tend to be so loud to keep their points across.

Maybe Dottore burned the tree and that caused a huge shockwave in the timeline because he's essentially destroying something that is deeply connected to teyvat and that's destroying sumeru and everyone in it.
I think that the sages are obsessed with bringing her back and she wants them to move on and forget about her.
also the fact that the akadmiya whisked the new archon up just as she was born tells a lot, and the fact that you can't do a lot in the actual city since the akademiya has put on so many limitations

Fun fact : The tree of irminsul is the leyline tree (connected to the leylines and can very much be known as the world tree in some aspects) hence why the dendro archon is known as the God of wisdom as the leylines record everything. And it has been theorised that dainsleif is the guardian of the irminsul tree
Arnold! I had a thought! what if the reason for there being so few Dendro characters is connected to the suppression of Kusanali! While the Vision Hunt Decree was relatively recent, who knows how long the Akademiya has been mistreating Kusanli keeping her from doing her duties as an Archon!

Really good video! Also, reason for the 5 weeks instead of 6 weeks on those 3 patches is to make up for the delay caused by 2.6 with Ayaka, as it puts them off their initial roadmap. From what I've seen, I can not wait to explore Sumeru to the fullest
