Looks to me like the robins are trying to prevent a nest robbery, not so much retaliate for one. The hawk, on the other hand, looks like it's just trying to dry out its feathers. Excellent video of bird species interactions.
The Robin's shout at the hawk: get the fck out of our yard. They want the hawk to leave because they fear for their nest. That's quite normal behavior amongst birds. They dislike birds of prey and they show their dislike for them.
Just wait until the blue jays and crows hear about this. I listen to birds and it pays to know their distress calls. I have nesting chickadees and they get like this when the crow I feed, comes around.
The other morning, I could hear several blue jays squawking. Pretty soon, a red-shouldered hawk flew over my house with 4-5 blue jays on his tail. When a predator is nearby, blue jays always answer the call!
The robins may feel that the hawk, who’s clearly a dastardly character, is too close to their nest and is therefore deserving of a jolly good talking to. Hello from 🇬🇧 p.s. Your robins are very different to ours (on the wet and grey side of the pond), which are considerably smaller although no less brave, protective and aggressive towards intruders.

You can hear the other birds going off that there's a hawk on their turf lol. They are pushing the hawk away from it's nest or young I think.
Brave Robins. This is like me watching out my kitchen window. I get totally lost in time while watching all the local fauna in my backyard. 😊

Nature is is interesting. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Post! 👊🏻👍🏻 Appreciate you my friend 🙏🏻
Interesting, our (European) robins are much smaller with half orange bib and darker beaks. Just as territorial though!
UK Robin size ranges from Wren - Trush
Smaller the Robin the more Orange the Chest (Younger)
Larger the Robin the more Red the Chest (Older)
I have baby quails we call them the popcorn of the desert! Roadrunners always eating them!!😎
The hawks are usually up to no good 😬
It's either already robbed the nest or is waiting to. Robin's are protecting their nest or they ate telling the hawk off.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Turf wars in the Northeast…quite an old tale 😁. Wonder which is the made man?
They're trying to poke it's eyes out.
Love listening to birds. Nature's music.
The robins sounded mad like this when a cat came around. I think they wanted to lure it from babies or scare it off
Nice segment.
Trying to keep it away from their nest. Looks like an immature Broad-Winged Hawk, could it fly good?
The hawk is shrouding.
They are protecting their nest because the hawk will be trying to get at their chicks. They don't look like the Robins we have over here.
here in germany we see crows attacking buzzards a lot when they have a nest nearby
😯 what do they birds know what we know not?
That hawk should be thankful that they were Robins and not Blue Jays. Battle would have commenced/
And the Blue Jays would have chased the hawk away. They are relentless and group together to drive predators away.
Those are some fat healthy Robins❤
This is a good video
Probably close to the nest,or eating a baby
Robins....plural is not possessive.
Great video .
Very different robins to the ones in UK
💚🙏🏻🇬🇧
Do birds every get electrocuted?
🙂👍👍 Post 10
