Great video and a great help as I'm about to go up there in the morning. 👍
what cracking vid robin loved it was stunning day mate good one mate love your sun gigs thanks mate atb Bryan
A fine mountain great memories of it and with the crampons and ice axe and staying in the bothy when I was in Aberdeen Uni Lairaig club.
Stay safe respect those fine Munroes.
Great video mate views are stunning, did this a couple of years ago with my son. It was a fantastic day out and brings back the memories of it 👍
Nice one Paul, how old is your lad? Did he enjoy it? Thank you for the coffee by the way. 😊☕️
A belter of a video, well done for showing the technical stuff on the rocky path up to the ridge, I thought that was a stroll...
Cheers Jeff, just a bit extra care required particularly when the coires are icy. 😎
Brilliant video mate. Cracking day. Glad I left these for a blue sky day. 😎👌 Would've been nice to camp but ach well eh.
Still can't complain eh, was a top day out. We'll see the Northern lights one day. 😁 👍🏼
What a day to be in the hills, did it on a very similar day a good few years ago now and remember that waterfall being covered with ice on the decent. Cracking video as always.
@@WalkWithWallace I ended up in it and struggled to go up or down. But some how survived the day in the end. You learn from those experience LOL
Excellent Robin😍👍..Love Buachaille Etive Mòr😍👌🏻..Need to get up there and do a few more scrambles😁..Great video and top editing as usual 😁.
Cheers
Robert
Cheers Roberto, I need to get Stripey to take me up the Curved Ridge as I'm a big fearty with things like that. 😂
@@WalkWithWallace Defo mate..You’d love it 😁👍..I’ve not done it either..On my list😍👍
Stunning views all the way on this one Robin looked like a good day out I got the gp 11 so hopefully it works out atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍
Cheers Jimmy. 😁
Have you vlogged with it yet? I'm still getting the occasional freeze when recording. Don't know if it's the media mod or not. Only once or twice a day, I can live with that tbh as I like the footage.
@@WalkWithWallace ye mate at weekend I played around with the settings but think I've muck up 🤣🤣 it froze twice but still worked with only 10% battery so happy with that 😎😎👍👍
Nice one lads , you’ll not get a better day for that one ..mint .. cheers Stevie
And if we camped we would have finished off with the Northern Lights. 😆🙈
This was my first mountain yesterday fuckin amazin time to start ticking off the mountains of my home ❤
Well done, great video. It was a fantastic day to be out on the hills. Was good to meet you. Iain and my trusty Munro bagging dog.
Lovely day for it.
I've never gone up the coire, I've only come down it as I've only done the Buchaille by curved ridge and that was a while ago since I last did it.
I'd love a pop at the Curved Ridge, just not sure my nerves can take it. 😂
@@WalkWithWallace it is a bit exposed but I've done it few times and I don't like heights :) You would be fine.
Nice one Robin.
Surprised at you going up such a busy hill 😂
Always remember that mountain as well as it was my first winter walk with an amazing fresh dump of snow just a few days before it.
I was a total rookie , didn't even have gaiters at the time 😂😂😂
Haha, looking after my buddy Kev. He was due a Munro trip. 😂
Seems to be a rookie mountain as I met a few folk that thought the middle top was the second Munro too. 😆
Top drawer Robin. This is a watch again jobbie. Planned to do that route years ago and stopped on the way back from Fort William at the same layby, very similar conditions to your day too. My friends said they were too knackered/ lazy to do it. I was fuming all the way back to Newcastle!
Cheers mucker. I tell you what I would have been raging too, missing out on a blue sky day. I'd have dropped them off at Kingshouse Hotel with £20.😇😅
Thank you to show to the world our beautiful mountains. Such a wonderful day! An enjoyable and interesting video of yours. What a relaxing views of the mountains! Thanks for sharing.Greetings from Japan🐶😃🤙🤙
Lovely clear views at the top. Nice trip out for you. Best wishes.
Great to meet you guys on Sunday, what a day to be on the Hill, my descent off Coire Na Tulaich was a bit sketchy very icy.Superb reminder off a Carlsberg Day
Nice chatting Mike, what time did you get back to the car? I can imagine that being a bit sketchy, it was going up in the morning too.
@@mikebrooks7680 not far behind us, and you had an extra 2 Munros in the bag too. 😁 I grabbed some chips at the Real Food café. 😋
Absolutely stunning video. Showed the buchaille off beautifully. What a day you lads had. 🎉
Nice one Robin, that air was so clear, not a spot of haze around. Drone really comes into its own on a day like that! 👍 Brilliant shots in there. Cheers! Kris.
A real stunner!!
The views down Rannoch Moor and especially from the second Munro down to Loch Etive are so beautiful.
And good idea to take the safe route down Robin
A top watch - love the drone footage
Cheers Dave. 😎 👍🏼
The drone is rarely out, but had to take it for this one. 👌🏼
Absolutely brilliant!! Really enjoyed watching this fantastic upload bbmy friend. You created outstanding content here! 🔥🔥🔥
Looks so beautiful there, great you got a blue sky day, you can fully appreciate those 360 views. Does look steep in places mind. Great hike 😊
Thanks Yasmin and for dropping into the live chat too. 😊 It was a memorable day. 👌🏼
Superb, crisp, clear, day for it Robin 👌, fantastic views, thanks for sharing
Great Mountain! Probably the most iconic Munro south of the Great Glen (not withstanding the Ben!). Thanks for sharing.
Cheers G. Probably a good shout there, the Ben is a bit shy hiding it's North Face away from the road. The Big Buachaille is like hello I'm right here. 😁
Well worth watching Robin. A proper mountain day out. A lot of false summits if you like - I mean the remaining Munro's kind of hide out of view. Fantastic views - yeah goosebumps. It's easy to see why. As for the descent I don't blame you at all for being safe. One moment of arragence and the days ruined. Well, good stuff. Hey, I've camped in Glen Etive. That was cool to see. Mark
Cheers Mark. 😎 It's a fantastic day out, being on the ridge for a large part of the day.
Did you film your Glen Etive trip?
@@WalkWithWallace A pleasure Robin. Good to hear of the day. No I didn't film Glen Etive but I have photos. I'll share on facebook. The weather was just unfilmable if you get my meaning - so I just took some snaps. I did get a great audio recording around a fire that some guys from Glasgow built. We had a good old natter. Well, have a cool weekend.
@@WyeExplorer I camped down near Loch Etive a few years back, pre youtube days. It's a fine location. 🔥 🥃 I'll keep an eye out on your pics.
@@WalkWithWallace Yeah, we were going to head that way but stopped short. I'm sure it's inspiring Robin. Got your comment on F.B. Thanks.
Bluebird day 🐦 cracking drone footage 👌 and very wise decision donning the spikes on the descent 🥾 Brilliant atb Brian 👍
Cheers Brian and for popping up on the live chat. It would have took a bit longer without the spikes.
Excellent did same route last December we had a nightmare on the decent at same spot at the rock and completely iced up it was hard work negotiating it anyway cracking video mate
@@WalkWithWallace not loads of snow so wasn’t too bad but ice on rock was a problem for North Korea cheers
Still not done Stob Dearg myself but I will hopefully be going there this year. Got to say there were some nice looking camping spots around the 7:30 to 8 minute mark. Your comments about the views down Glen Etive from the second Munro are bang on though. I did Stob Dubh and done the same as you and Kev and dropped off the summit for an uninterrupted view and it was worth it. Some helpful advice along the way Robin as well. Hopefully the weather stays good this summer! Last weekend was fantastic.
ATB Gaz
Cheers Gaz. You'll definitely find places to pitch in between the tops. It crossed my mind too.
Nice one Robin! Really enjoyed that. The Buachaille is an absolute favourite of mine. Ive been blessed with great weather both times I’ve done it and the views are absolutely stunning. That is a tricky wee descent coming under Stob Coire Altruim & its a joy to get down to the Lairig😃 Look forward to the next vid and ATB. Andy.
Cheers Andy. Has to be one of my favourites too. Great being up on that ridge for a decent few hours. Just don't quite get that with the Corbetts. I remember the path down under SCA being quite treacherous, loose rock everywhere. NTS have done a good job.
Yes it a bit of a challenge alright. Funny enough I was staying at the Kingshouse with my missus last weekend. The weather was unbelievable especially on the Sunday so you really hit on. Stay safe out there bud.👌
What a lovely day! Your photography is excellent, as ever and look at that fresh-faced 25-year old! Talking of different appearances, who's your dark-haired friend??
Cheers Paul, appreciate it mate. However where did you see this dark haired friend? 🤔
Ma handsome face eh. 😉 Hadnae washed ma hair in a couple o days so it looked dark eh. 😉
Amazing! Never been up there as every time we've tried the weather has beaten us! Sherpa Kev still looks like your hostage! 😁 Got the notification this time Robin👍
Cheers Grey. 😁
It's definitely worth saving for a great day mate. Glad the notification worked this time. 🔔 😆
Some day for it
Doesn't get much better. Wish we camped out though as the Aurora was out in force.
Another great 🎥 Robin. 👍 Sunday was a superb day to be out on the hills. I was revisiting Beinn Dorain & Beinn an Dothaidh after 24 yrs since my last visit, so was just down the road from you & Kev. If you'd not changed your plans might have met you on the hill! ATB Derek
Cheers mucker, aye we would have met. It was a quick change of plan to do the Buachaille instead. Another time who knows, I've discovered the Scottish Mountains are a small place for bumping into folk you recognise from social media. 😎
Nicely done Robin and Kev. What a day you guys got for this. This route was one of my early ones back in summer 2018 and did my first “video” of this with mainly stills on iMovie. My gear and software has evolved since then and the rest as they say is history. Great hike and still one of my favs! 👍
Cheers Andrew. 😁
I've had a similar journey with the vids, starting off with basic software and a struggling laptop. Not a cheap hobby. 😅
@@WalkWithWallace yip. Doesn’t help when you lose bits of equipment or break things when out and about. I’m really bad at that! On my 3rd external mic ! 😜
@@andrewsadventures5747 aw don't mate. 😂 I lost my Rode Wireless Go last year. 😔
Too bloody sooperbos! I remember meeting u on here all those years ago and putting u right lol. . Hope I get fit enough to get out again.
Haha, was it Ritchie you were with that day? Was another cracking day that one.
Stunning walk and what a good day you had for it too. You're very lucky to live within exploring distance, I need to get back up to the Highlands as they are truly epic. I live on the edge of the Lakes (which is nice) but those valleys and peaks are something else
Cheers Matthew. It was a memorable hike this one. Lakes are decent and Ironically I can get to the Lakes as quick as quick as Glencoe.
Wonderful video Robin. I do love the Beauchaille, it was my Mums favourite mountain so it always has a special place in my heart. My Dad and I reach it’s summit the other year on what would have been her 70th Birthday. It was a special day in deed, and we had lovely weather too. Rannoch Moor is so so impressive from up there. Thanks for sharing your day as always. 😀🥾⛰🏴
Nicely done Dave, glad you got the weather too. Your Mum would have been smiling down. ☺
The view over Rannoch Moor is easily in my top 5, maybe 3.
Have to agree Robin the view over Rannoch Moor is something special. That down path is a wee bit nervy in less than ideal weather, I've watched people go down using their a*#e cheeks as clamps😂
Just beautiful, and I'm surprised at the lack of snow, even though I know there has been less snow this year.
It's a tad weird isn't it, I reckon winter will have one last sting in its tail yet. 🤔
Love this. Being from Ireland it's great to see the names. I can understand most of the meanings, just some of the spelling is a bit exotic. Great stuff, a pint or two would seal the day!
Cheers buddy, a pint in the Kingshouse would have been excellent. Speaking of Ireland, the Reeks are an excellent day out.
@@WalkWithWallace they are alright, Mount Brandon is a lovely one, too. And a pint in Murphys Bar in Brandon village afterwards really hits the spot (if you're ever in that neck of the woods)
Quality that Robin. Can’t believe I’ve still not been up there as I’ve been driving past for years. It’s a few years since I’ve been to Glencoe, for personal reasons, but I’m heading back there next month. Cheers for the timings, too. Gives me an idea how long it takes. ATB - Dave
Cheers Dave, the Buachaille is right up your street mate and you may have noticed there's places to camp along the ridge. Looking forward to seeing where you end up. 😎
Seems really complicated with all these paths etc. I'm desperate to do this, not because I'm a keen hill-walker, the opposite actually. However, I have photographed this mountain, many many times and would just love to conquer it. I've been up Cobbler a couple of times and Ben Lomond 3 or 4 times. Like I say, walking is not my thing but I love a challenge and I love the feeling of accomplishment when getting to the top. I'm just a bit concerned about the complexity and directions. Any suggestions what would make it easier for me me to do this? Thanks for the video. I hope I find the balls to do it.
Hey mate, save it for a really good day when the sun is shining and you'll be fine. If you're not confident with route finding and or map reading then download the Walkhighlands App, then save the walk on the app. It shows where you are on the map and will show if you're veering off course.

@@WalkWithWallace Brilliant, thanks mate. I intend to wait for the summer to start proper lol! Thanks for the reply. Cheers!
@@thewelsho really good spell of weather all this week mate. Perfect time. 😁 👍🏼
Can Y recommend a good tested micro spikes
Kathoola, they're a bit more expensive but they last for years. I've had my pair for ages now.
Perfect 😎That’s the kind of day we all dream of 🏔️
They don't come to often, so you definitely need to get out when the forecast is that good. 👌🏼
