Thanks for sharing this with the world. Hank Lives! Rest in peace Mr. Jones. I am glad to say I've saw you live, and you were such a gentleman very easy to approach to say hello. All I can say is there will always be a Hank Jones.
I've never heard a recording before where the Bass harps on the piano are As clear As bees on a summer's day and Hank's hands seem to sink into a velvet cloak of keys or that scene in Alien when the astronaut falls through a curtain of neon blue light upon all the pulsating eggs. Don't see too much of him but looks like the devil when you do
Thank you for keeping the legacy of our beloved uncle alive! Peace and Love, Elvin Nathan Jones
Get a lump in my throat listening to this. I did have the privelage of seeing Hank live. R.I.P. Hank.
Hank is one of the few jazz pianists who has that amazing phrasing and grace from classical piano... him and Evans.
I'd add Oscar Peterson to that, I think he's absolutely the jazz pianist with the most fluidity on the keyboard
@@ltran96 agreed 100%. You just named my other favorite pianist. I have an Oscar poster on my wall next to Horowitz.
Hank puts a very light and soft touch that beautifully decorates this music. He was in a heavenly class - so humble and elegant. Thanks for sharing.

This is how I like to hear Round Midnight,Smooth,Melodic Solos, just beautiful.
Hank displays such delicacy in this piece.
After many years of listening to all kinds of jazz, now I’m coming back to my life-time fave, Mr. Jones.
What a sweet rendition! Hank has such a light touch on this one. Marvelous!!
He has such a nice trio.
Hank swings - and like the Count, without excessive movemnt. Love it
Hank Jones plays this tune so honestly.
Sublime! Great how he does nt over play it!😀
Eleganza più tecnica più tempi...che bello!
With Willie Jones and David Wong, two of the standard bearers of jazz into the future.
Good bye Hank. God bless you.
I couldn’t help remembering the MJQ treatment of this song. Very similar, understated and somehow wistful.
Nice performance of The Monk.

That Ebmin/maj7 with the b5 at 0:18 is beautiful

@peckinpah75 you're right, I didn't notice the major 3rd in there
@ipshelley both titles are common, and therefore right.

Who is bass player?
David Wong
Anyone know who the bassist is??
My question, too. It might be George Duvivier. Great bass!

Actually we're all wrong! It's just D/Eb
Played like a retired old man.
Shut up.
Hank displays such delicacy in this piece.
