Alright, the number of maps that could fit in the largest zombie map can only be given by a range. This is a result of the lack of knowledge on the dimensions of each map. Thus anywhere from 10,500-25,500 of these maps could fit in the largest map. Idea of the proof: We only know the diaganol of each map, the small map being 6 seconds and the large one being 2*(6:24)=768 seconds (I went back to get the time from the video). In addition, we know each map is rectangular in shape but we do not know if they are exactly square. Thus, we can assume (based on the video) that they run with a range of (conservatively) 20-70° with respect to the corner. Accepting that the diagonal is fixed, a square will give the largest possible map area. We also take note that maximizing or minimizing the angle will result in the smallest map area (by symmetry). Proofs of fixed hypotenuse areas can be found online. Therefore, if we want the largest area of each map, we find the sides of a square (with a fixed hypotenuse) and if we want the smallest area of each map, we use the trig functions and the angle 20° (again by symmetry). Using our sine and cosine functions, we find that that smallest area for the small map is [6sin(20°)]*[6cos(20°)]=11.57 (seconds)^2. The largest area for the small map is [6sin(45°)]*[6cos(45°)]=18 (seconds)^2. The smallest area for the large map is [768sin(20°)]*[768cos(20°)]=189,566 (seconds)^2. Lastly, the largest area for the large map is [768sin(45°)]*[768cos(45°)]=294,912 (seconds)^2. There is one (technically two) final step to this proof before we are done. We need to obtain the range of the number of small maps that can fit into the large one. Thus, we recognize that to get the smallest number of SMALL maps that will fit into the large map, we need to divide the smallest area of the big map by the largest area of the smallest map. Thus as a minimum, (189,566)/(18)=10,531 abouts. We can round this down to 10,500 since we assumed a lot of variables. Next, to get the largest number of SMALL maps that will fit into the large map, we divide the largest area of the large map by the smallest area of the small map. Thus, we get as a maximum, (294,912)/(11.57)=25,489 about. Again, since we approximated a lot, we can round this up to 25,500. Therefore, we have shown that anywhere between 10,500-25,500 small maps can fit within the large map. I understand that we will have a better approximation if we assume that the angle was greater than 20° and less than 70° but by only visually looking at the map, I personally cannot safely say that this is true. Our answer is only an approximation anyways and is the best we can do with playing the maps and timing them ourselves.
When tim and rabb1t put all that effort in to mathing how many of this map could fit in the last map they played but forget they had stamin-up when they played the last map
Really late because I watched back the video again but it was 2 different zombies you can see there was 3 there with the one running behind the first one.
OK, so about the whole "how many of these can you fit on the biggest map" thing, imma give it a shot. For simplicity sake, I'll call the biggest map "huge" and the map in this video "smol". Let's assume that both of these maps are perfect squares, it took you around 12 seconds to go from one corner to the other in smol, that would make it so that in one minute you can do it 5 times, ignoring the time that it woult take you to turn around and start running again. Now, on huge it took you 6 minutes to go from the center to the corner, so 12 minutes from corner to corner, if we got that we can make the same thing 5 times in smol in 1 minute, then in 12 minutes we can do it 60 times, the diagonal on huge is 60 times the diagonal on smol. Finally, since we are talking about how much area each map has, we have to square it up, 60² gives us 3600 so, if my math isn't off, you should be able to fit approximately 3600 smol inside of huge. BTW, my first language isn't english, so if I wrote something wrong and you can't understand it, sorry
1:40 - 2:37 I calculated the size for you. First calculate how many seconds it took you to cross the large map. You would multiply the time it took you to get to one corner by 2. (6 minutes and 24 seconds times 2 is 12 minutes and 48 seconds) Next you put that into seconds by multiplying the minutes by 60 to give you 720 seconds. now add the seconds (720 + 48 = 768). The total time to cross the map is 2.55m/s you would use the formula d = vt (distance equals velocity times time). the equation would then become 2.55 X 768. the answer to this is 1'958.4. this means the diagonal distance is 1'958.4 meters. Now to calculate the area you will first find the length of the sides. You will use the formula a = c x SIN(α). This becomes the equation 1958.4 x SIN45, the answer to this is 1384.8m. Because the calculate side b using the formula b = √(c^2 - a^2), which becomes the equation √1'958.4^2x1'384.8^2 which equals 1384.8m. now you have two sides. because the map has 4 sides you can multiply this together to get the area. (1'384.8 x 1'384.8) which equals 1'917'671.04m^2. Now we calculate the area of the smaller map. First find the length of the diagonal using the formula d = vt which becomes the equation 2.55 x 11 which equals 28.05m Next we need to find the angle of diagonal. We can notice that the ratio of the walls is about 1:2 , so will plug those numbers into the formula α = TAN^-1 x a/b which becomes the equation TAN^-1 x 1/2 which equals 24.57°. Now find side a with the formula a = c x SIN(α). The equation for this then becomes 28.05 x SIN24.57 which equals 11.66m. Now find the length of side b using the formula b = √(c^2 - a^2), which becomes the equation b = √(28.05^2 - 11.66^2), which equals 25.51m. Now because the room is rectangular you can sides a and b together to get the area (11.66m x 25.51m = 297.45m^2). now for the final step, to find out how much bigger the larger map is you will divide the total area of the large map by the total area of the small map, which becomes the equation 1'917'671.04 ÷ 297.45 which equals 6'447.04. This means that 6'447.04 of the smaller map you are playing could fit in the large one you played a week before you played this one. [I am only calculating playable area and i did not take the space the perk machines, box locations pack-a-punch, etc takes up.] Please make more COD zombies math problems for me to solve in future.
