- Giant Resin Seahorse
I used Barnes "Clariti' resin for this seahorse. I also used Artisue mica powders, Pinata alcohol ink, as well as a pigment paste from Le Rez.

Well, first off, I think the fact that you even attempted to make your own mold is quite something, so good on ya for that. And double good on ya that it came out so well! Secondly, these colors are just knocking my socks off. What a beautiful compilation. The way they all just blend seamlessly from one to the next -- wow. He (she?) is gorgeous! What a great project. Thanks for taking us along!
I love your seahorse . Love to fine your modes . 💕
He is gorgeous! Seahorses are my favorite sea creatures. I love the way they look and how pretty they are. You did an excellent job with this.
I think making your own mold makes it more individual. I think the results were very good particularly for a first attempt. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful. I really like how you don't edit, you are not afraid to show the little oops.😊
I think it is beautiful!!!
Wow wow wow! Fabulous! Congrats, Julie! Gorgeous colors!
That turned out really great! I love how the eye turned out and the colors that you used!
Your seahorse is beautiful. Love the colors
Wow! That was so nice!!! A very lovely seahorse with those beautiful colors...a great inspiration hopefully for a future project.....❤👍👍👍
I think it turned out wonderfully! Picked up the details very well. Thank you
Love the colors. I think he is going to be gorgeous
Edge of my seat and holding my breath! Whew - you got your splendid Seahorse free of the mold - and it is a Beauty ❣️
Absolutely Beautiful!!
Wow Julie, you are so talented! I know the research was huge and behind the scenes effort that went into making this a success! You have managed to make Resin look easy! I am drawn to try it, but fearful as well. Do you find that becoming familiar and comfortable with resin by using it over your blooms/pours helps with all Resin projects, as you are familiar with consistency, curing time.... Another spectacular piece, can’t wait for more!!
He is beautiful Julie. Great job
It turned out great!
That is absolutely gorgeous, you are brilliant at everything you do. So exciting to see the end results.
SOOOOO BEAUTIFUL!! ❤️
Fabulous! Did a great job!
beautiful. love the colours. great job!!!!
Oh, I adore it. Great work Beautiful. Try putting glitter in the next one.
It turned out good ❤️
You are, without a doubt, one amazingly talented artist!!
Absolutely beautiful and the colors are amazing. I can’t believe you’ve never made a mold before just gorgeous
Beautiful job!
Gorgeous!!
Awesome Julie. You are talented and tenacious and bring such amazing projects to the table. I look forward to seeing more of these.
He's PERFECT!!!! A mold like that, if you could even find one, would cost you $150.00. You're an artist!!!
That is lovely.
You did great!
Very Pretty!! ❤️😊👍
Oh I love it!
Lovely!!!!
This is beautiful 🤩
That’s pretty cool.
So Beautiful
Love it ! Job well done
Gorgeous
Fabulous!
Smooth on makes a silicone you can use for making a custom mold, i have used it along with their resin and never had release issues. That and sealing the mold prior to your pour may help.
Beautiful work
Wow, amazing
Great job!
Love it!
I like it especially the purple my favorite color and all the blending of blues so pretty thank you for making and sharing your video
I love 💘 the cute seahorse. You used my favorite colors too. Can you make a mold reversed so they can look at each other?
It is pretty. If you want that side shiny I have seen some use a spray before they pour and I can’t think of the name right now. You can get some resin polish and buff it in. I would hang it in a window so the sun catches it. I love everything beach and that is why my house faces a beach. A seahorse is both male and female. If a male wants to breed he becomes a her, pity my husband couldn’t do that. 🌷
It's gorgeous Julie! She turned out amazing! I love how the colors look! ❤
How cool!
Волшебно 🔥🔥🔥
Есть воск- разделить в виде спрея. Если - перед заливкой- обработать силиконоаую форму, то издание из эпоксидной смолы- вынимаеися ооочень легко.
Beautiful results. Tips for future mold projects: remove mold from frame prior to filling with resin, fill deeper parts of the mold first and then do the edges, paint with a paint brush a very then layer of clears resin over the ‘front’ of the cured piece to make it really shiny, as your mold ended up with a bit of a Matt effect due to the texture of your original seahorse. Again, it turned out really beautiful.
Excellent job, but could you have used the metal one and sprayed it with silicone so the resin wouldn't stick. beautiful love those colors
Love it
Fun and pretty. Love the Ammonite & Sea Turtle, too.
It looks so amazing!!! I definitely have totry this - a lot!
Beautiful 💯👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽😁‼❤
Gorgeous piece. I didn'y see the link on how the mould was made. 😊
I am so into this. Been binge watchin for ages. Will attempt asap probably just make something for the bathroom or kitchen maybe a salad bowl. Do you have any ideas for beginners?
Super cool
Sooo excited!
It's lovely. Couldn't use just use the original mould?
You could of added some hot glue to it to the mold to left of the edge gorgeous its beautiful
Looks good - are you thinking of embelishing him?
Heat The resin in The cups to have The bubbles gone before you pouring in mould. When you heat The resin in The mould The resin and silikone are reacting and The resin get stuck in The siliconemould
Pretty
Every time I try to pour multiple colors like this they end up all blending together. What am I doing wrong???
Why don’t you use mold release before pouring your resin, also flip it over, it would be easier to pull out, plus why don’t you use a syringe for small detail areas, you would have so much more control.
Love this, do you watch Naptime creations? She has a video on dusting your Mold
How did you make the mold
Luckily, next time you use the mold it won't hold on so tight ^_^
You should of added some green to the purple
I feel like your intro is too long, I’m so excited to hear your lovely voice when I watch any of your videos, I literally skipped over to get to the commentary, you would be the most lovely person to have around all the time, keep it up!
Maybe put him on or in a bigger piece, like a table or a framed ocean piece.
Very pretty. Mount it on a board
Oh I followed you in my acrylic pouring and I moved onto resin over a year ago... I see your now doing it... I lived your video what a great idea to make a plaque of a sea horse.. Good job. Do more do more. I'm on Instagram @koaladeesart 👍
Just awesome!!!
Love it ❤
Hi julie. This is beautiful. Next time you might try spaying the mold with demolding spray or a little cooking spray. It helps with these homemade molds and more intricate designs.
Your experiment on the Sea horse was a success..I love the multi level of colors on his body...He is a stunningly beautiful Sea Horse...👏
I would mount this to glass that is treated with mirrorized window tint. Then light the edges with LED lighting around the edges within a frame, behind the mirror. This would elevate this piece into a WAY higher value. The fact that it’s reproducible, is golden.
I think if you fill the center and work to the outside it wouldn’t run as much, looks good!
Use a demolding spray, but also could use a round of silicone all the way around so the seahorse mold will be a tiny bit deeper. You might try doing a layer for the spine, let it dry, then do a full pour, if you want to have a clear separation between the back fin.
Lol, I was thinking about doing that when I start making my own molds, to prevent the extra its and bits from having to be cut off.
The finished girl is unbelievable!!! WOW!!! You are very talented.
You had me saying, "turn it over already I'm salivating lol😂😂😂❤😁‼👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Well done Julie. He’s gorgeous and especially as it is your first go. 🥰
That was really amazing - I was on tenterhooks as you were taking it out of the mold as I felt sure that there may have been a weakness in the nose area as the resin kept flowing out, but no! Julie has succeeded yet again and as you say WooHoo! Well Done - your work is really inspiring but your attitude to it all is worth our respect and gratitude. Thank you so much for keeping us motivated to keep trying! Your seahorse is really beautiful and the colours are gorgeous as well.
🇬🇧 ...ME TOO! Breath holding and everything! 😆
Julie!!!! Hahaha you kept the suspense going, I couldn’t wait for you to turn the seahorse over. Awe.... it is soooo lovely. Thank you for sharing your trials it’s so useful 😊
Ikr Me too "ok ok turn it over..please lol😂😂😂
When I see imperfections on my art I want to correct but I then remember that reality is, nothing is perfect. The imperfections make my trees ( bc I love trees) real. This seahorse is so cute.
It's so pretty. I especially like the effect around the eye!
Maybe next time before you try a new mold, pour some water with some food coloring into it to see where it’s shallow and where you need to dam up the mould.
That was a huge undertaking...from making the mould to pouring the resin. She is glorious for a first attempt Julie. Good on you!
Yesss Indeed 💯👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽😁❤‼
Beautiful loved it
Oh Julie, I just knew this was going to turn out beautiful but not this GORGEOUS❣️
I absolutely adore this 🤩💗😍
Hi Julie can you make that mold deeper ,he is beautiful he need a girlfriend.
I love seahorses and this one is beautiful. Here I go again @25:22 it kinda looks like a fossil maybe a pterodactyl?
Next, @25:29 in the blue area... if you stop it just right it's like a big fox head. A little dark spot for his nose and 2 long ears. @25:32 in the jaw and throat area looks like the feathers of a bird. A tiny head and a big long angry looking face. A mommy and baby bird?
Its beautiful and I had such fun watching your process. Just an idea. What about using some colour changing mica pigments. You coat the mould using an eye shadow sponge then blow it out lightly to get rid of any excess. Then pour your dark resin in over that. I saw some ladies using this technique in their jewellery making it was stunning
I think your so clever ..love this it’s really come out really nicely and with him being semi transparent he would look nice hanging in a window ..Love this 🥰
A beautiful brave endeavour! Love your work and especially your attitude while creating masterpieces!
God bless you, don't know if I would have the patience for that but it came out absolutely gorgeous. I would maybe put a coat of like mod podge or something to make it just a little shinnier but so gorgeous. You did a great job!❤️
spitz with alcohol for ease of release and no damage to silicone
This is great!! so pretty great job!
Absolutely love it. Love watching your videos. Thank you
