What the actual!!! These stretches worked sooooo well. Wow 👏 😮 my bunnys have been feeling snug but pinching slightly at the toes. This is a game changer. THANK YOU THANK YOU. XXXXXX
I just sleep with mine on the first two nights. Weird, but it works for me. When moving around - as we naturally do in our sleep - you get that ankle crease...and more. Then I'll tighten the trucks as much as possible, skate from speed bump to speed bump in front of my house. Loosen them 1/4 - 1/2 of a turn. Repeat until they feel right.
@@user-mo9qq4ly8p You do kind of have to lay on your side - not stomach or back - and also...stagger your feet...like you would while street skating. I actually prefer boat anchors (the heavier, metal plates), but skates have a lot more to them than shoes, of course, even with nylon plates..you have the plates, trucks, wheels, bearings, toe stops, and all the other little bits and pieces...so they're always going to feel a little bit heavier compared to tennis shoes or sandals. It is definitely something you just have to get used to. Sleeping with them isn't so bad once you find that "perfect position", though.
@@Abbiehousediy Your feet - especially in summer - often sweat. When wearing your skates, part of helping them "mold to your foot" (vegan, vinyl, or suede/leather), is heat. So...yep! :) Instead of skating for 6-20 hours to break them in, to me, 2 good nights = 16 hours of that.....um, heat molding process? If that makes sense? Granted, with a partner/spouse, they may not approve of the idea. LOL
I bought myself a cheaper pair of skates to start to make sure I actually stick with skating before really investing but I’m already eyeballing a pair of lolly’s. These videos are so helpful.
Same. I don’t know how to skate at all and I always give up when I try. Couple of years I go I bought the cheap ones from sporting goods but was adviced not to use them because the wheels stop. So this time I bought some impalas for $120 because I didn’t want to drop a lot on some moxis when I don’t even know how to skate. Hopefully I actually learn this time 🥲
I did the same thing. I got a cheaper pair, about $80 but very good reviews. I wouldn’t do crazy stuff. I’m 64 and would be an easy rider, just happy to get around.
I think once production gets back in order I'll place an order for some lollys! As much as I'd already like to upgrade from my current skates I just got I think It'd be good to spend some time with my first skates before kicking them for something new LOL
I have requested this various times and channels for myself because although I know some parts and have some long time experience using skates on streets, I didn't even know skates moves had names. So a move or stop on skates has more than one name (I still don't know or can't remember them all but I just skate). Therefore, I can't explain or demonstrate any "how to" to my daughter (teen with an attitude) who I primarily ask for and is a beginner level (although not her first time on skates because I had her on skates following me a long when she was younger) what is what skate part & explain their function with demonstration the differences. I primarily ask since I learned NOTHING about skating just grew up skating along with my cousing going down streets to other neighborhoods jumping onto, off of whatever we encountered on the streets in various skates we had some better than others (wheel hardness now I know not better but for different surfaces). Whatever level my skate level is, I want any & all actual info there is to continue practicing with some knowledge (and not be clueless) my joy of skating. I hope she rolls even if she's not learning to skate with mom or maybe she'll learn on her own and then want to skate with me.

Thank you Lady Estro Jen!!! It is soo awesome to have been SOLD on a new pair of skates by someone who is soo, thoroughly in love with skating... I am in love again with something I fell easily back into in a couple days after having learned so long ago and not done since kindergarten. ok, and maybe a few times throughout gradeschool... 🥰
I just got my Panthers 😙😙😙🐱 coming from a pair of super broken in vinyl skates to a brand new pair leather skates was not easy on the ankles (lol). I can say though that any Moxi is worth your money, even though I've hardly had my Panthers the way they maneuver is incredible (after a little truck loosening😄).
Thank you! This makes me have a much better attitude about the rink session in my super awesome new Estro Jack's that I had Thursday. The rink was so packed full of daycare groups, and almost all of the kids had skate mates whether they needed one or not. The ONLY thing I felt safe enough to do was cruise, do bubbles, and a few crossovers for the 2 hours I managed to enough patience stay there. I'll call it a breaking-in session. LOL. It's 2 days later, and my booty & inner thighs are finally thanking me for the workout. Now I gotta try to clean all of the sticky nasty stuff from my wheels! 🤬🤦🏼♀️😂✌🏻💜🛼
Yes! Need this! Got my lollys yesterday and had my first state (and blister) this morning after 2 hours and kinda thin socks. Oops! 😬 I’m determined to break them in ASAP though, soooo.
I used to break in old school vinyl boots by unmounting the plates and walking around the house. I dont think id do that with leather but back then the boots were very stiff and took forever to break in.
Just got my moxi panthers today. My God they are amazing!! It's way more effortless. I wish i bought it sooner. My next pair will absolutely be lolly's! But yes the panther is stiff. So it needs breaking in for sure.
Im so glad this video exists! I bought beach bunnies recently and they're just barely too small where the next size up would be too big but they're uncomfortable so I'm hoping breaking them in well will help

Will putting scotch guard on lolly skates make the suede any different? Like if I wanted to dye them in the future would the dye not adhere to the suede the same?
I dyed my lollies and I can tell you from experience that they already have some sort of hectic waterproofing on the suede, so some more shouldn't hurt the dying process too much, but I don't think they would need it
Just started breaking in my Beach Bunnies and for the most part I'm starting to adjust, but they - or rather the right boot specifically - seem to be digging into my achilles tendon and its causing quite a bit of discomfort. Does thins mean they skates might be too tight for me? Or could it be a problem with how my foot sits in the boot? I do have overpronation issues in both feet, but there doesn't seem to be much wiggle room in the skates for any kind of insole or orthotics. :( Any suggestions??
Thank you so much for this! A lot to learn! How long to break in Lolly's? I know they're supposed to work quickly, but just curious since that's what I ordered.
How do you keep the tongue on the jungles In place. It always moves to the right. Will that improve when they are broken in. Wish they had a lace lock or loop on the tongue to secure the position
Moxi Roller Skates Yes! And, I was on UA-cam at the time, too! So weird. It’s probably UA-cam. No worries. P.S. I just sent your shop an email about Arius plates with Jacks. 🥰🌺❤️. Thanks again for all you do!
This is NOT an insult and I’m super stoked about getting my skates (I ordered back in May). But... please tell me the Lollys are going to last way longer than 8 months... I think it may be that the wheels are too soft for the surface you're skating on. Because it seems like your wheels are otherwise well adjusted but your not getting enough speed for your effort. I hope different wheels help and it's not a problem with anything else in your skate
Sounds like your wheels are too soft. I’m a total newb but I have been researching wheels like crazy and that sounds exactly how they describe needing a harder wheel.
Hi! My jacks (reactor neo plate) are like 3 months old, I use them 4 times a week, the left one keeps going left so my knee hurts from trying to keep it straight, its because the trucks are too loose?
Sounds like it! Try tightening the front trucks of your left skate by a half turn and see how that feels. Everyone's body is different, and I adjust my trucks based on activity as well. If im going for speed street skating I want my trucks a little tighter for control, vs if I was doing indoor dance skating, I'd want them a bit looser for flex.

Does anyone have any problem with the tongue on their skates sliding almost immediately after skating? I don't have Moxi skates. I have Boardwalk Sure-Grip skates. Any suggestions on how to help this? I like the tongue staying in place because it feels better for ankle support! Thanks in advance!
Hi, they did have a customer service live on UA-cam answering these questions. It is still up on their UA-cam channel. Depending on the kind of skates you purchased.
I can't drive forward, idk. I always fall to the ground I have no balance. I bend my knees, I do everything and it's the third week now. I officially give up. I'm to clumsy for skating.
Try indoors on your carpet. Then your kitchen floor. Skate close to something to grab if needed. Hold gently like a dance barre. I think Dirty Deborah. Videos are great.
