In 1998, two variants of the Hi Ace were introduced Base Hiace 15 Seater 2.4 Commuter and 3.0 Grandia Hiace were launched and the 2.4GL Diesel became 2.0GL Gasoline Hiace and a facelift was launched in 1999.
When the Hiace returned to the Philippines it comes with a first facelift from Long Van in Japan in 1994 with a 2.4 diesel and its a Kommuter variant
This generation of Hi Ace was launched in the Philippines in 2005 with two variants 2.5 Kommuter and GL Grandia.
The Hi Ace nameplate returned to the Philippines in 1994 upon Toyota Motor Philippines and it started with Kommuter 12 Seater with 2,4 engine
The HiAce got revamped in 1996 here in the Philippines new headlights 13 seater with side facing seats

Wala parin binago sa since 2013 up to pressent,di pinakinggan ni toyoya hiling ng mga hiace owner na dapat daw ginawang power window at dapat may second aircon vent sa third row kasi complain ng mga passenger is subrang init sa back kahit naka full ang airconvent sa second.

Hiace Kommuter and GL Grandia don't provide automatic sliding while Super Grandia provides sliding door automatic
The Hiace 2.4 Kommuter 2000 gets 14 inch steel wheels for 2.0GL Hiace 14 inch steel wheels with hubcaps, 3.0 Grandia and 3.0 Hiace Super Grandia gets 15 inch steel wheels with hubcaps.
