I watched this film. Highly recommended.
I laughed as much as I cried. I was not expecting such a punch to the gut. It deserves an Oscar.
Edit : Today we know that the film is nominated for the Oscar for the best documentary. Great news!
Which bit felt like the punch to your gut, was it when he started to cry when sat with the two ladies near the end and said how he was sentimental ?
@@stevepeachey6469 the fact that these people are alianted from the word in different levels. Many are abandoned or simply don't have anybody else. Some are affected by dementia and get desoriented. The good part is that they get good care at that place. There's a lot of humanity in spite of the seemingly bad aspects. The film is a Rollercoaster of emotions, really.

It didn't won the oscar, but now this movie was dominated to an academy reward so let's hope it won
This is look way entertaining! Already shortlisted for 2 Oscars! Another gem from Chile
There are not enough films made with elderly people! Love this trailer and can't wait to see the film.
Andrew Jenks, Room 335 [2006] is another superb doc of the same calibre
Is not in Netflix yet???
watch derek!!!!
I say this all the time wish there were more tv series involving older people lol Mid Somer Murders is actually pretty good and filled with elderly people who do most of the murdering lol
This is why we take covid seriously. To protect people like this in our society. Watched this beautiful film last night and it had me in tears. One of the best documentaries I’ve ever seen. The interviews at the start are priceless.
You take covid seriously because of your level of ignorance due to watching the news
this was so heartbreaking and beautiful, look always for our elders, always.
I love, love, love this film. As others have noted...I smiled, I laughed, and I cried. And keep reflecting on it.
Chilean cinema has taken off! I love the realism in its movies!
This is a must see documentary-film! It's totally heart-warming and heart-rending at the same time. Real life touching characters, humour and sad moments will tug at the heartstring of everyone. 100% percent recommended film. Congrats to Maite Alberdi!!! You rocked again! Cheers ;)
El documental es mi género favorito de cine. Se me eriza la piel ver que un documental tan precioso, naciera en mi amado Chile.
The Mole Agent deserved the Oscar
If you still don’t watch it, then you must. I guess older people is seen different in advanced countries, but for sure there are common topics independant of the place. It is incredible how blind we are regarding situations that sooner or later we will live. Congratulations to the director, the team and the great grannies who work in this hearted film. Regards from Chile
It's a great movie, and it also depicts the reality of Chile. And more then entertain, this movie will make you reflex and see the value on keeping contact with the elder. Completely recommendable to everyone who wants to experience and understand life better.
Beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time... It saddened me to think that most of these beautiful elderly people have family members who don't even visit.. The loneliness to see their loved ones was heart wrenching especially when Sergio showed the lady photos of her kids and she knew them all clearly by name at first glance.... the young and the old are the most vulnerable in society we will all be in their shoe's one day so cherish and visit them as often as possible they brought you into the world loved and gave you everything it's not until the chair is empty you realise it's too late!!
Thats why i dont have kids
love from india. grt trailer
A fantastic film. Right blend of humor and drama.
Now available in Netflix (mostly Latin america) and in some countries in Amazon prime and Hulu
!
One of my favorite movies of the year. Crip Camp, Possessor, this, I'm Thinking of Ending Things, Dick Johnson is Dead, Bad Trip, Baby Teeth, Foosballers.....
Spectacular!!!
This looks really wholesome ^.^
I really love it. Someday we will arrive to that age too. Lets take care of our olders, as they take care of us when we were a child.
Gran película.

Seems so nice.
GRAN INJUSTICIA, ESTE DOCUMENTAL? DEBIÓ HABER GANADO EL OSCAR
Quiero verla.
I guess I can still be a spy....gotta get some type of walking stick weapon
How is this a documentary and not fiction? It's so clear even in the trailer they are doing multiple takes and different camera angles of the same!e conversation.
because none of the people in the asylum were actors, they live there.
@@SiBiDiBiDiPiDi I don't doubt that they live there but that doesn't mean it still can't be a story that was plotted out and that scenes weren't staged and or reenacted which to me betrays what a documentary is. I still want to plan to watch the film later this week and I won't give a firm judgement until do but based on the trailer it seems to be closer to reality television than being an actual objective documentary. I've been a background person on reality shows there is no script all the things said are spontaneous but they do tell the people to get from point A to point B for a scene. I hope this is more objective than that but some also say just the presence of cameras themselves will make people act differently.
@@andrewthezeppo You should watch the movie then because the director explains this topic there. They were recording on the nursing home way before they started the documentary so people wouldn’t realize that Don Sergio was an agent or that they were looking for abuses against the elders.
@@andrewthezeppo As said by Lina9Music, they had cameras waaay before Sergio, the main "character", arrived. They told them they were filming some kind of movie, but as there were no actors the people living there just got used to the cameras and forgot about them. They're old, they didn't care that much. They just did what they were doing every day while sometimes a cameraman pointed at them.
If you see the movie you'll realize that everything that happens there is completely real.
However, i do think that there was some sort of script for a couple of scenes.
@@DerkerBluer Maite Alberdi, the director has said in multiple interviews that she knew the detective first and set out to make a documentary film noir. So this all sounds very manufactured. They were not filming in a nursing home for a long time and this serendipitously happened.
Echo what others have said-the film is great, but you will cry. Have kleenex ready!
The senility is a god's betrayal.
I loved your comment.
هادا البربيش ما بنفع 😂😂
“This hose won’t work” ( commenting on extinguishing the fire) lol
I loved it. But later I knew that co-star Rómulo Aitken had been a torturer, during the time he served as operative agent for "The Office", and since then I can't like it, out of respect for the victims of the Pinochets dictatorship. Sure, a person who has tortured others may very well appear in a documentary, but then he must appear with his own identity and his own past. Here Aitken is portrayed only as a charming private detective, but his past makes the movie completely disgusting to me.
You are mixing pears with apples :)

El Oscar no te merece Don Sergio.
A stab of humanity in the middle of the heart.
