Man that looks like a sweet reel. I'm going to look into one for Teagan for sure. I think that would be an excellent reel for a kid also do to the ease of use. It wouldn't wear them out as fast making a lot of cast. Very nice job testing the reel and explaining the ins and outs. Convinced me to go look into buying one for sure. As always, you are the man. Looking forward to getting back up there with you and putting some of those bass and crappie to the test.

Looks like a nice reel for the price. I will be interested to see how it handles bigger fish and if you develop any line twist. That is an issue I have seen with some of the cheaper reels. They seem great at first but then they have wind knots and very twisted line. Let me know if you still like it in a month

I've caught fish up to 35lb on the 2k in the 2 months I've had it. No line twist yet using braid

You should have gotten 2 'washers' you can add to the spool to help with the play...

Russell, the 2000 would work just a touch big.. they do make a VM 1000 that is a little smaller.. check it out.. and thanks
Hey PR, I noticed on the Piscifun VM1000 I just received it has a slight wobble in the spool also. Could it be by design you think ? Other that that it’s like you said, a really smooth reel. 👍👍👍

PR i am hooked on smithbrobaits because of you so your opinion is very solid with me. Thinking about purchasing this reel in a 1000 size for crappie fishing. Its been 2yrs since you posted, do still use it and how did it hold up??

That’s why I only stay with Shimano and Daiwa reels and never bother with any other brands, because if those two brand can’t do it well don’t even bother with other. So to me; it’s a pass for me on that reel

Did that spool play go away once you had it loaded with line?
Mike, it does get tighter as you tighten the drag but it is still there a little.. but it does not seem to effect the reel.. I want to see how it does when I get a bigger fish on it.. that will tell the story.. thanks man.
Can i put a 10lb braid on when it says 15lb?
