- When I think back to the thousands of car I’ve tested over the past 23 years, there’s a shortlist of those that have left an indelible impression; the ones I’ve placed in my fantasy garage and the NSX is definitely one of them. From slobbering all over it in car magazines back in college to my first professional drive in the late 90s, I was hooked. And then when this 2nd gen car went on sale 5 years ago, I had one for 3 hours, very near to but not actually on a racetrack to experience this 21st century reinvention. I was blown away then and I’m still in awe now.

Facts
The interior is the weakest point on this car it needs a new interior.

My ideal daily supercar. I don't want to be too flashy with a Lambo. I'd have one of these in a black. Perfect.
but a Huracan sounds so much more better and is lighter and faster
When you want a super car most people don’t want a reasonable car. But I personally like the NSX. As other reviewers have said, it’s like a baby 918.

@@reenachauriya4931 yeah but 0-60 isn’t everything. If it was then everyone would be driving Teslas. The V10 sound and handling of the Huracan and Audi R8 are way better than the NSX. Also the Huracan was Motor Trend’s best drivers car in 2020.
It's still a 100k cheaper and comes with most electronic gadgets like heated seat power adjustable seats and alcantara leather as standard but on huracan you'll have to option them as literally 10 grand add ons so you can't just say nsx is a worse car than huracan.
I'm lucky enough to have a close friend with a 2018 NSX (modified to 630hp) and he let me drive it unsupervised! It's absolutely amazing in every category; especially acceleration!

Something to consider, Acura will honor the warranty no questions asked! my 17 NSX had a major engine problem and they fixed it, provided a temp car for me to get around and cover the entire 60k bill

In Japan, it is the Honda NSX with the Honda logo on it. I drive an Acura RSX with the red Honda logo.

I was lucky enough to be invited by Acura to test this car at the Honda Proving Center in the Mojave. There are many, many unshared technological advancements that will leave you in awe and make you appreciate the car that much more. The reason there's no convertible? Honda/Acura didn't want to compromise visibility with a thick A pillar, typical to most modern supercars for rollover safety (look at the interior of a Huracan, for example). They spent over a million dollars alone developing a frame/alloy that would allow for a thin A pillar yet also provide rollover safety. A convertible top would compromise that, thus the tradeoff. If people knew more about the astounding details of this car, they wouldn't be so quick to dismiss it. It's easy to keep scrolling when you're sitting behind a computer.

This is the perfect car for a nice spring drive, Chicago's Greatest Hits pumping thru the ergonomic cockpit.
Hit the Starbucks drivethru for a Venti Pikes Place Roast, assuming the cupholder is commodious enough to accommodate a cyclopean coffee, before breaking some traffic laws. I friggin love this thing man

It’s often hard to convey a sense of speed in videos, but you managed to do so quite effectively!
Is very cheap of that mclaren 720s and fast and NSX is dream car very fast like stock if u tuned is untouchable beast.

This is my dream car
I think Acura needs to take a page out of the Corvettes playbook. Base NSX(just engine/no turbos/no electric motors), RWD only. NSX R-Type(increased HP/ Twin-Turbo/RWD only), NSX Type-R(more HP/Twin-Turbo/electric motors/AWD), This way they could have a base-mid-top tier options and set price accordingly. The current price tag is for some reason holding it back from being popular, though it's a good car.
I hope to own one of these someday provided they don't end up collectors items like the old NSX

Honda/Acura must change their interiors and infotainment systems. I am an owner of only Honda cars and scooters but the interior trims and features must be updated and upgraded.

Absolutely beautiful. That said, I still feel supercar and automatic transmission do not belong in the same sentence.
Partly for that reason, I think I’m going to have to keep my ‘17 Accord EX 6-spd manual (the other part being cost ;-).
@Nazi UA-cam It's a perspective thing. Understandly modern automatics are generally faster than manuals but probably not enough to be perceptible - unless you're actually racing. For most, myself included, the sports car experience prioritizes driver involvement over comfort and convenience. I would guess age is a big factor as well. I'm 45 now and still strongly prefer full control over the gearbox. In another 20 years, I may feel differently.

Thanks Steve. Honda really needs a "Supra-level" car with this tech, even if it is a 2+2 and not as low slung. Sure, the TSX A-Spec is nice, but not a sports car. First Gen is still my favorite. #NeedForSpeed. One thing is, I wish it did a better job at #savethemanuals.

The NSX has an engine solely for NSX and is not shared with other Acura or Honda lines.
It also collaborates with HONDA/COSWORTH engine (Inspired f1 engine).

Honda is the best motoring brand in the world, at least when it comes to sports. For example, Dakar, Formula 1, Moto gp, etc. These are all top disciplines, and Honda in all belongs to the top, if not the best. No one else can match it

I have only seen 2 NSX’s on the roads in the North East since 2017. One of which was an S version. But for the price, not enough creature comforts inside even compared to soccer mom MDX SUVs. I’m sure the driving characteristics are great but at that price, buyers have expectations given that there is a huge expense down the road not priced in (battery replacement).
Should bring it to the taconic highway here in NY

@@ssaini5028 the cost to redesign and update those manufacturing stamps cost so much money. I don't think Acura would risk it. They are trying keep the program alive without adding more cost.

@@ssaini5028 not profiting vs throwing away money is grey zone. If Acura can find ways to boost the performance numbers up a few notch, that will help them tremendously. Hopefully a TypeR variant can achieve that.
Now with the 21 model out. Would you take the NSX in the Indy Yellow or the new Long Beach Blue?

It's a good looking car, but Honda Australia put a price tag on it here that ensured it wouldn't sell. Oddly enough, there are three Pagani Huayras in Sydney, and I've spotted one of them, but I've never seen a (new) NSX on the road.

When you are doing launch control, aren’t you supposed to mash the brakes, floor it, then let go of the brakes, instead of mashing the gas?
By far one of my most favorite sports cars, but it's sad honda decided to make it for less than 2% of their fans.

the rubber is 2000 USD per piece or overall? bugatti's tend to ask for 10k a piece i think - so really no issue here.

I do love mine! I love my ceramics! I do hate my rattles! The interior needs a refresh and the car needs another 75HP. Interior storage is laughable.

Where were the rattles in the interior? I’m very close to purchasing one but that would be a huge turnoff so wondering if they are like dashboard rattles or something else? Thanks in advance for your response
@@jameswillard1 there is a common rattle in the carbon coal that's and easy fix. There is one in the airbag that's keeps coming back and I have a few in the door. Most cars done seem to have as many as mine.

The c8 was a much better thought out car ! Every weakness this car has the c8 excels.
Park this next to a Vette and the Chevy disappears. No one would even give it a second glance.

What happened to the type R? This car needs the type R badge and a price but. Get these two things and it could revive it.
My civic eg6 vti smokes that peace of cheat only with a supercharger and some cams!!!!
Only this and the R8 can be daily driven.
Then again I’d get a V10 before they become extinct and you plus everything in.
I would buy the NSX over the Nissan GTR and Corvette as well as the Mustang GT500 or Challenger, or the Camero Zl1.
its a great car but deal-breaker is prices it starts at 160k and ends 260k when chevy corvette c8 starts 60k and ends at 160k. and c8 is much better car. so u loose twice when u buy nsx. however if nsx prices were like c8 than it would definitely worth to buy it. c8 became absolute game changer chevy did a absolutely fantastic job. the only thing is missing in c8 is awd option.

The interior is really painful to watch. Doesn't really fit a car at this price point. Otherwise, yeah it looks and runs great.
considering it’s a Honda product, the shortcomings in the interior ingenuity is disappointing. Even the discontinued RLX had heads up display.
Yeah. They should simplify it. Lose frivolous tech and lower price by 30-40%. Make it a true bare bones sports car. More like the 90s NSX.

My uncle bought a red one in October 2016, I was shocked with the car, at that time I already got in a huracán, R8, Porsche 911 turbo S and GT3RS, Ferrari 488, AMG GT, etc, and the looks of the NSX shocked me it was such a beautiful car, we took it for a drive and everyone was looking at it and most of the people didn’t know what it was, specially because in 2016 there is very few people that had one at that moment, I loved that car but it wasn’t perfect, sure the engine sounds good but not good enough for a super car, the key is almost the same one you have in any Honda, the paddle shifters feel a little low quality that’s a problem with other premium brands but whatever 🤷🏻♂️, the software of the screen feels a little laggy but if you buy this car is to drive it so I don’t really care about that, but there is some things that Acura could do better to make this car almost perfect, but the sound of the R8 and huracán is way better, but I would take the NSX over any of the car I mentioned 😅
It's lovely but it's a Starbucks queen. There's a number of videos of it on the track and the car suffers when pushed to 10/10. Respectfully, most people buying this car aren't going to push it to 10/10.

The R8 V10 Plus has been clocked at 2.9 to 60 and has a top speed of 207, so no, this does not blow anything off of it. The R8 also has one of the most sonorous engines ever built, while this sounds like a blender. I think that, combined with an interior that looks out of a $50K car, is why they don't sell. If you want a practical every day car with super car performance, you buy a 911 Turbo. If you want an exotic, you buy something with an exotic badge, and an exotic interior. The C8 shows what could've been done if Acura hadn't been so focused on stuffing it full of tech. The upcoming Z06 will likely outperform it, and you could buy two of them for the same money.
Lesser Acuras have more advanced infotainment systems. No cooled seats. No front lift. Too heavy. Porsche Turbo anytime.
The exhaust sound is underwhelming as the styling. C8 z06 here I come

How much weight can Honda get rid of if they ditched all their electric motors & hybrid crap, that junky V6 with turbo bolted on 🙄 & built a lightweight powerful, mean sounding V10 engine? Something much better than the Yamaha/Toyota built engine in the LFA & maybe get rid of their SH-AWD system & make the NSX RWD? Also hire someone from BMW/Tesla to redo the Interior of the NSX
Think Honda can still salvage the NSX with those changes? Name it 2022 or 2023 NSX Type-R 🤔😁
