I use the Griffin Pocket tool’s pry end to open bottles instead of my old trusty Bic lighter. It’s also great for opening packages at work instead of using a safety box knife.
As the owner of both I prefer the AAP because the griffin’s pry is too shallow an angle and the leverage on the lifter is lost because it presses against the bottle cap. The gondek traveler is a good option and is easier to find and cheaper than the AAP
I love the lesson of this video. I love the way the Griffin tool looks with the anodizing -- really handsome! I have a leatherman 4 pocket tool that has a small bit driver, and scraper/pry, and bottle opener (and they say a "box opener" but it's too dull)... small, fairly flat, fine for many of the times I don't want to pull out a multi tool. I can't hang keys from it... but I have a maxpedition key-arrangement which allows me to keep my car key and Leatherman 4 the only things hanging from my ignition switch, while I have another ring that carries all the other keys and some other keychain tools (light, Sliver-Gripper tweezers, maybe a Leatherman PS4 or something similar), staying in my pocket. That said, none if this looks half as cool as the anodized Griffin tool.
Thanks, glad you like the Griffin! I only colored it because I'd been failing so much at trying to anodize steel and was excited to finally have some titanium in my hands hahaha. As for what you carry, if your system works for you that's great, don't change a thing. It seems like you've got it organized and have the tools you need, so enjoy them! Thanks for watching and giving your feedback, much appreciated!
You finally got your hands on a Lynch tool, how cool. I don't have much use for those little tools, I stick with the SAK on my keys. They are neat though, maybe I'll try to get some carry time and see if I find them useful.
They're cool things, no doubt, but only if you have a use for them. If you don't need to use them then you don't need to have them. Definitely worked out for me with the griffin!
I had been carrying a simple prybar that was free to me but cost 75¢, and itd be working just fine, but at the end of the day it was just a prybar no bottle opener, couldn't double as a clip or wrench. With that said i just bought a griffin mini in bronzed ti😅. I hope youre happy with what you made me do.
Jorge Covarrubias Hahaha only if it works for you. I try to be as practical as possible with what I carry, so this was a good one for me. Hopefully it works for you!
I'm still getting the 1.5 honestly I like the grip and stuff and most of the tools on the griffin I have small hand tools from big idea design for more dedicated tools and I'm not carrying this on my pocket nor on my keys imma put it in a maxpedition edc pouch with my leatherman and other tools I cant be bothered to stuff my pockets up with and use this for heavy working I also have a second pry tool on my key organizer that I use for opening bottles so this would be mainly for heavy use and stuff
I really wanted a lynch nw all access pass but ended up purchasing the gondek edc traveler in titanium bc I don’t want to pay the $150 they go for on ebay. My emd goal was to have a titanium pocket pry bar that Incould use in the place of a knife a good portion of the time with a deep carry clip and the clip itself is easy to come by. I also carry a $5 kershaw pry bar on my keys but it is small enough that it is a bit odd in the hand outside of super small tasks.
There's a lot of good ones out there my friend. So hard to choose and you just gotta hope what you get works for you. I got really lucky that the Griffin was what I needed.
Nice review and comparison. I have a Griffin pocket tool XL in titanium. It's a great addition to my collection. If you think you'll no longer need your lynch all access pass, would you consider selling it? I would like to add that to my collection if so.
Hey there, thanks for the nice feedback and comment. Unfortunately I already sold the Lynch Pass. Like I said it just didn't fit in with what I was looking for. If I come across another one I'll let you know!
Man I really considering the griffin and that new copper looks so good!! I just worry it gonna b too soft to do any real work. Any advice on this? Thanks!!
Honestly, the one I use now is brass and I have had zero issues. It isn't as hard as titanium, and it works great as a scraper and even after almost two years it looks great. Copper should be as functional as that, so I'd go for it.
The lynch is better for me personally I have a pocket wrench so the wrench feature isnt really important to me I carry my extra gear aside from my knife keys and wallet etc. in a pocket organizer in my backpack
It's a pretty expensive tool, absolutely. But if you invest in one and use it regularly you'll get your money's worth in the long term. That said, still plenty of things at lower prices that can get the job done.
I bought a Lynch pocket clip for my Benchmade - great upgrade for like $20 - I've had some email correspondence with Casey and he is super cool and has a great business philosophy (give his site a good read)
I've purchased several edc gadgets in the past and honestly just don't use them.I carry the leatherman ps style just in case along with my knife phone and edc pistol.
I never really carried one before but this one just works for me. The light weight and versatility compliments the capabilities of the Leatherman Micra I carry. Plus, it serves as an extra tool I can loan out in a pinch to get a quick job done. But yeah, having that Leatherman is great and all you'll ever really need. Good little workhorses those are!
You should check out the Jurassic Croc multitool by VA tactical. I like it more than my all access pass. It's cheaper too! You can find it on instagram
Why in the fuck is this not a 20$ item!!! I got a knife that has scissors in it I bought for 25$! If I lose it I’ll just buy a new one, if I lose that pry bar I’ll fuckin cry

JT's Knife Life Do you use it as a pocket clip?
Exactly. I hang my keys from it, slide it in the pocket like a clip. It's great.

Griffin has a lot more functions and way cheaper. No contest. I use mine almost every day at work. Great investment.
I'm the smae way. I love having my Griffin tool on my keys. Always easy to get to and I use it constantly.
wonderful job on the anodizing......I want one!!!!!
Thanks, it really isn't tough to do! Definitely could do it for yourself at a decent price!
If the Griffin had a Phillips driver in place of the scoring tool, it would have been perfect for me.
Hmmm, that would be an interesting idea for them to try.
EOS MiniShark is the answer. US made, Titanium, and the flamed ano 3 inch is currently $17.

Nice I agree with that being said any chance you want to sell the Lynch ?
Lynch is long gone already I'm afraid.
I can't really see myself spending $80 for prybar.
But I do like the pocket clip. Many little prybar tools only have keychain attachments.

Is the Griffin Pocket Tool TSA friendly?
I think so, but don't quote me on it. No cutting edges though, so I don't see why not.
Where can buy that griffin in that color
Not sure they have them aodozsed. I had just done it myself.

It's just a sought after brand. There are plenty of great titanium tools for cheaper though.
Oh 2 tools u cant get...ok I'll watch
Griffins aren't readily available? I'm pretty sure they are.
