I have an XL BULLY and live in the uk !! ( unfortunately) marlon you will be aware of the rules to own this dog, I didn’t register him on time and I am terrified of what ( could) happen to my gorgeous boy….. he’s HUGE but soft , so blooming loyal and I just wanted to ask you for your advice on what I can or should do , I’m getting him neutered on 4th September as that’s his 1 year birthday and that’s also one of the government’s rules to own an XL bully at the same time im having him microchiped , but I’m terrified about not registering him in January on time when the legislation came out….. any advice please marlon ,, Kelly uk
Only thing you can do is fight it in court and argue why you hadn’t exempted him by the deadline, it’ll cost 1000s in court fees to get done. And not guaranteed a good outcome but sadly there’s no other options now.
Going to the vets for neutering when he’s not exempted poses a risk as they can report you.
It’s also a fine up to £5000 and up to 6months imprison.
Best option you have is muzzle out in public and try and find a vet you can trust to neuter so you look as though your following the rules and then are way less likely to be reported.
