You mentioned about getting your pheasant perpared for tying. Some pheasant in the bags are " flat " so I usually get a round tall pill bottle and use to help form a curve by wetting the herl and rubbing around the bottle, making sure to keep them wet for a few hours, then they hold a great curved shade for tying in. 👍.
To prepare pheasant crest I do the following: 1) Pluck feathers 2) Boil a pot of water 3) Remove pot from heat 4) Place feathers in hot water 5) Stick feathers on neck of wine bottle to dry (lay straight) 6) Remove feathers

That’s an amazing tip!!! Thank you so much for sharing. I will have to try it when i get back to my desk.
Brilliant looking fly Chris
It looks lovely. I will have to try tying this fly. I've tied salmon flies for a while now. But sadly I have no salmon in my area.
Love the fly , love your tips. Keep up the great work.
That fly looks amazing . I’m going to tie some up and use it here in the PNW. Great vid...
What species will you use it for?
Very nice👌 has the colours of a green Highlander too, thank you.
Very similar. Thanks for watching👊🏼
Great video Chris...I'll have to try that superglue trick on my next squirrel tail :-)
