Ive just been reading a Car and Driver magazine where they tested a M3 E92 Coupe with a 0-60 at 3.9seconds .... Thats Supercar acceleration ... and amazing piece of engineering !!!
It was interesting to notice that the Japanese call a corner "corner" and brakes "brakee" :) And every mid-corner reaction of the IS-F driver is priceless :)
not a surprise, m3's more of a high reving, more track oriented suspension car. c63 more of a brute force, loads of torque for burning rubber antics. i like both
Do you even know who these people are? The driver racing the C63 is Tsuchiya, aka the drift king. He is known around the world for being a master of car control and he specializes in RWD vehicles. He has also raced and won professionally in Le Mans. Try watching his touge battles where he is going 9/10 on mountain roads and then try telling me the man can't drive...
The pre-2012 C63 had less aggressive suspension (i.e. softer) and sought overall comfort. The post-2012 C63 with Performance Pack grants uprated springs and stiffer dampers and SLS-specific hardware transfer to the 6.2 V8 liberates another 30hp. Not to mention in 2012 MB introduced a C63 coupe to do battle with E92 M3 coupe. In 2009: M3 > C63, but in 2013: C63 > M3.
The results were pretty much as I'd anticipated: a well driven E90 M3 taking down the C63 and IS-F with the much weaker G37 sedan (even with 328hp) being left far behind. (Nissan should have equipped the G with the M56 powertrain as an option.)
C63 driver most have drive it in comfort mode. Gears didnt stay on high rpm in the courners and it did gear up and down way to often. He should have drive it in manual or atleast sport mode.. Shift time is huge between comfort - sport - manual
Clarkson doesn't need to take note of anything. He is an entertainer and that is what he does. The formula obviously works since they are still running after tons of seasons.
You obviously don't know Tsuchiya (c63 driver)... He is probably the best driver japan has ever known !! If the M3 won against the C63, it's because it is a better track car... even more on a small track like Tsukuba! C63 has a bigger engine so it has more torque, but never forget that the m3 is a lot more balanced and has a better handling !!

Its obvious how well balance the M3 handling is compared to the understeering C63. The C63 appears to have more power and probably should have won if the driver took better lines though the corners. In my opinion the C63 driver was just fooling around for the camera.
I have the olddd c32 but I prefer the m3 to the c63.. both are good but the m seems to be more fun to drive and looks sexxxy unlike the fugly c63. The black series though I would have a tough time deciding.. that's a little different.
even though Japan is hightech country, when it comes to automotive.....they still have to learn from the Germans how to make better cars......But I love both countries...peace
Also, many tests have proven the m3 a quicker car around a road course. I'm sure the c63 might be a better daily driver but the m3 is a much better drivers car.
If you think the e90 m3 is too bloated than you need to re evaluate your understanding of the modern world and modern engineering. Sure the e46 was a great m3, but the e90 offer everything the e46 did an now with more refinement and engine to kill for and a wonderful exuberant chassis that still offers the telepathic characteristics the e46 chassis offered except now with higher limits and predictability. A perfect all-arounder. It's an engineers wet dream. @Maxis2305
@jojajo2707 The e46 csl was indeed an amazing M. But it lacks refinement and a crappy smg gearbox with a very stiff chassis doesn't make it a good street car and pales it in comparison to the e90. If you don't think 2 seconds is something at the nurburgeing, then you are truly a nincompoop .
What the hell is a Golf TTRS? What the hell is a DKG? Have you driven on the Nurburgring? Do you own an M3 or driven one to the limits? Do you have any motor sport experience? Oh wait...? It's you tube, of course, you've done all of the above and also got an A in english class.

+Hikaru Shimasaki (hikabon1105) 個人的に勿体無いと感じたのが、ミッション。例えばBMW、この動画はMTでしたが、ラインナップはDCTもありました。IS-Fは一般的なトルコンの8AT。もうちょっと画期的なミッションを積んでほしかったです。排気量もM3より大きいのにそれを伝達するシステムがトルコン、勿体無い気がしました。他にもあると思いますが、個人的にはミッションです。

いくらスポーツセダンと言いながらも、新たにミッションを作ってまで割りあてるつもりはないよ、トルコン式で間に合わせますよと。多段化して誤魔化した?のかな。
BMWは楽しいセダンを作り続けてきましたから、見た目や名前だけ真似しても厳しいと思います。BMWも長年の経験から今があるわけですし。

I have drive both C63 and CLK 63 and i own a CLK 55 and im not sure about the way the gearbox decide gearchanges.

The C63 is in sport mode in this video. You would know if you have ever driven one and there is no manual for the C63.

+Midnightbeamer 以前土屋さんも話してました、IS-FはM3の出来損ないだと。見た目だけかっこよくしてデカイキャリパー着けたり、4本だしマフラーにしても、中身は別物だといったことでした。マイチェンしてからだいぶマシになったとは言うものの、どうなのか。やはりそこは楽しいFRをとことん追求してきたBMWの長年の開発にはかないませんね。
