- ATLUS has showed out once again in what has been a phenomenal roll for the company. With a 20+ minute showcase under our belts, Metaphor: ReFantazio is looking absolutely fantastic. More importantly, it's not just fantasy Persona, but aims to be much more and potentially far more complicated. The Dukes dissect this incredible looking JRPG, mull over what it means for Persona 6, as well as overstate the importance of Xbox having the marketing for this will be. Naturally, we continue to conversation on Fallout as we see the franchise continue to hit unbelievable metrics. Man Bethesda needed this homerun with bases loaded, the Fallout love is on a all time high and you love to see it. Hopefully this gives Bethesda some or all the confidence back. Salute to the Dukes!

Bought Jedi Survivor at launch on PC on the strength of the previous one, so it coming to Gamepass when they still haven't fixed it properly is a bit of a slap.
Actually started to play FO76 on my PS5 after a few years of not touching it. But due to the show, it rekindled my love for Fallout.
Xbox showcase seems right for persona 6 not just cause of the colour it's been a long time

In regard to Persona 6 I have a lot of faith. The team behind it is the team behind the Royal content and I’d argue that had higher highs than base P5. I highly doubt we’ll hear about it before Metaphor releases. Possibly TGA? But don’t jinx it guys! Watch there be the blue PlayStation banner right after a trailer full of green lol.

I think relationship stuff were really good in fire emblem three houses. You need to have strong bonds with your students and on top of that your student's bonds with each other is quite important. And it add lot's of depth to story, characters, lore and world building. You can learn lots of details about relationship and politics between houses from relationship between students. And the relationship stuff were integrated with gameplay loop so perfectly. Also as you increase your relationship with your students you care about them more and you try to keep them alive more. For Persona 5 it is so disconnected. Relationship and dungeon stuff are like two distinct games. Yes you get bonuses from your relationship status but you don't need really them. Persona fusion matters.
I think once the appointment session had been completely closed and you left with the documents, they would have to ensure you didn't tamper with anything or trade with anyone else. Since you left with previously checked documents after having to reschedule, they'd have to give you a whole new block of time which was already filled. Sorry that happened to you though. When I'm desperately looking for anyone, I try to think of the least likely place after exhausting the most probable places. One time last year I lost my wallet...behind my PC. I thought I was being a spy with great security skills lol. Outsmarted myself.

Fallout 76 is awesome I have 22 days on it.
For long dead games that's one story if you can't execute new builds of the games, but moving forward, it would be cool to see options for games to be put into a studios hands that specializes in preservation and it be rolled into a service to generate profits. For example, Gamepass host multiplayer experiences in a dead game and the game menu is updated to advertise this with the gamepass logo. Then that game is rolled into gamepass and the publisher is then given their cut based on that performance. Theoretically, who's going to lose? It's cloud, it can scale from nothing to something as needed. Someone's going to play it.
As a fellow 2D Sonic fan that sees most the 3D stuff as "meh" I can confirm Frontiers is still fun. They found a good way to do 3D.

I like week to week releases because I can discuss each episode with friends and speculate. With 2 kids I can’t be binging gorey tv shows all day and have to set aside time to watch shows like fallout.

People hating on Embracer but people forget the studios they acquired were in bad places when they were purchased. They were literally on their way out the door on the way to filing bankruptcy the games we talk about we don’t want to disappear. They were about to disappear. Crystal dynamics was on its way to the casket. Embrace these, short term long term, we don’t know what might happen because Embracer itself is doing so well, but you have to understand. Had they not stepped in these studios will be gone already complaining about the layoff. These people wouldn’t have had jobs anyway if Embracer hadn’t purchase those studios and try to do what they did. It didn’t work but what would’ve happened if nobody had bought those, they wouldn’t even be here. You wouldn’t even be having this conversation tomb raider. Imagine dead island was truly dead. Yeah that’s what I’m talking about. Those studios would have been gone. You should be thankful because at least there is a chance now when there was none before.
People are hating on Embracer because they decided to buy up all of the smaller studios and publishers.

You want game preservation of online games? Solution. Each game has an end of life plan where they update the game with all the content and provide the capabilities to spin up your own dedicated server off of your machine. There are games on PC that already do this and I don't see how they can't do this on a more P2P level or potentially have dedicated servers be spun up since consoles are becoming more like PC's. Also make all these "Online only" games work in offline and provide all the unlocks/progression in offline mode... looking at your Hitman.

Metaphor looks great but it def looks like a ps4 game, and I was baffled no switch support but then again- switch 2? They better not make a complete edition for switch 2 which have added story and content , or else im gonna have to re-buy it as a "physical".
This is Atlus. Down the line there will be Metaphor whatever whatever version for full price and there won't be any upgrade path.
@@hododod246 yupp, I have a feeling that as well. the fact it comes with "persona history and persona costumes" is enough to let me know Atlus handle marketing and probably the property after the game is done as well.
Switch 2 launch game, it will get massive amount of sales instead of selling it twice which might be even too shady for Atlus
Halo season 2's story and build up to finale was great but it lacked in epic battle and action sequences and real Master Chief. All those good fight sence were shorter than expected which is really disappointing. Also in the whole second season I just saw actual Maste Chief for may be less than 10 minutes. Can't you believe that?!.

I agree with Matty about Persona romance, it's so half baked that I'm actually glad it's not in Metaphor. The comments on Three Houses were interesting considering his reference point is Awakening, which is also fairly experimental (though it borrows some from older titles). I'll just say if the next FE game is an FE4 remake I have a feeling Matty will dig it.

Xbox console sales are down ~30%, after they were already down 30% in April. Microsoft has been well behind its competitors Sony and Nintendo for years now in terms of hardware sales
Over 16+ million PS5s that have been allegedly sold are not turned on, and I think that is worse than xbox sales. Imagine if 16+ million series X/S were not turned on. Did Sony scalp their own Consoles to boost sales numbers?

A Japanese business analyst said Sony was inflating their Console sold numbers. He said there are warehouses in Japan that are filled with PS5s. Last month Sony counted Best Buy inventory as sales. Crooked Sony?

Helldivers 2 is online only and now forces PSN account months after people paid for it and played it. PSN is not available in 110 countries.

I didn't dig Metaphor as much as P5 but, I'll give it a shot. In some ways(character design) it didn't differentiate itself enough from Persona and in others(music) it felt a bit generic. I know it was just messing around but, Persona became Atlus' flagship. There's no way it's being announced in anything other than a Direct, SOP or Game Awards

I hate to say this, but you guys who want to preserve these live service games are crazy. What business in the right mind would do this not because they don’t want to preserve the game but because how much it cost. Do you want to keep servers going even though nobody playing the game so that you can go back and play the game should you get the urge to? Perhaps argue keep the server going so that we won’t forget what it was going to pay for that it cost money to do that and as soon as they ask for money to keep it going people turn the other way I guarantee you if you paid Microsoft or Nintendo or Sony or any of the other major publishers to keep their lives service games going they would do it so go pay them. Pay them so that it’s profitable to do so arguing will you make video games? You should keep this up and running because I play video games. That’s not a good argument. That’s like telling the restaurant you should give me food because I like to eat, but you still have to pay me for it, I want to feed you unless you want a charity, and these are businesses, not charities. If they became charities, guess what the stock would crumble they would be thrown off the board because people pay for the business to run and make money.
They can’t even give the property to someone else and say you keep the network going because guess what they don’t want to run the risk of someone else taking their property and doing something with it. They don’t want you dammit and you think it’s OK but it creates a negative image. They don’t want to take that risk who’s going to let you take some intellectual property of theirs, maintain it and you can’t guarantee you won’t screw it up. You can’t guarantee it will safely be here and only here and won’t end up in the hands of someone else. Nobody would do that. That’s not how our business works.
I guarantee you guys wouldn’t let your podcast or your online businesses go into anyone else’s hands for preservation purposes if you knew there was potential they could mod it and change what it looked like you would say no no no no. If you can’t find it. Oh well look at my new stuff .
Yeah, in no situation could I see publishers say "Sure, we'll give the source code and access to the online infrastructure so third parties not associated with us can maintain our property, yes siree!!".
The fact is it that live service are designed with an expiration date and while that sucks the success of games like Apex and Warzone tell me that most of the gaming community is fine with that.
And as far as preservation is concerned I don't want to turn libraries into museums where I can look but can't touch, I want preservation because not only do I want these games to exist into the far future, but I want them to be easily accessible and playable too and unfortunately the way the laws are written right now it's just not possible.
Chris Avellone mentioned how bad the lore in the fallout show is and I know matty will never ever mention it 😂 it’s honestly a joke that matty has defended Bethesda doing bullshit like this for years
